sucks they decided to todd howard me into buying another copy of this game by killing online and removing this from the store. absolutely play it if you havent. the game is super engaging and the story/setting/lore is top notch. found myself wanting more exploration and lore dumps more than getting my ass eaten by frogs

i installed the non steam client because my hours per week was becoming a problem

fun but can be grindy if you have a goal set and the community is sometimes toxic

best duke nukem game in years

it's duke, cheesy and over the top, which fits this game. the base game's dialogue is so goofy im glad this exists lmao. i have no idea what the story of this game is nor do i care, as long as duke keeps spitting out dumb one liners and i get to impale some guys on a conveniently placed spike wall with the arm flingy thing

dumb fun, get it if u have even the slightest interest

Other reviews will probably describe the game play better, watch some YouTube guides and game play and see if it's for you. Slow paced and team focused, think of ARMA 3 without so much mental torture. If you like CoD or Battlefield hardcore and want something you can slow down in, give it a shot. The devs are pretty good at listening to feedback and reverting changes that are bad.

Game is really good but can have some bugs. The devs seem to be fixing problems pretty quick as they come. Do not let people with 1k+ hours and negative reviews dissuade you, it's a really good game. The hardcore base cries a lot when things change, so don't use the Reddit and some Discords can be toxic. Not all changes are good, but man the core game is fine. They are increasing monetization which sucks (especially the ui defaulting to paid cosmetics...) but how else will they pay their devs for more updates I guess. Look out for max level armchair winston churchill elitists, just play for fun and see what happens

Played it in tears peeing myself as a kid on easy, gradually working through it again. Can grate on you as it's so simplistic compared to modern games.

Play on a hard difficulty if you really want to experience it, otherwise your big 2023 fps trained brain will probably just walk through the whole thing without a challenge.

Didn't natively support 21:9 so enjoy your black bars or a non steam version if you have a fat monitor.

5 am frustration edit: Thy Flesh Consumed is just super frustrating compared to the other three. I barely died on Ultra-Violence up to E4M2, and then my spirit broke and it started to feel like user created content rather than that developer sheen the other acts have. Fast paced shooting is peak Doom to me, and this has a lot of creeping around lava pits and strafe running into doors across narrow catwalks. I guess ramming my head against a wall save scumming for hours is what would have been fun in the 90's, but man it's kinda brutal now.

Koala Tea game with a bit of clang and jank, but if you like the concept get it! Starmade's cousin but visually appealing.
