Story mode in RDR2 is a masterpiece but Online is nowhere near it.

Yup, this game can be fun with friends, but there still not much to do in this game.
In fact, this game is all about grind (even more than in GTA:O). You may heard about gold grind in RDO before. Gold grind wasn't that hard back in the old days, you could get decent amount of gold through dailies, enough to get stuff like season pass or the roles which are main content of the game (yes, base content of RDO costs "premium" currency), but R* decided to nerf gold grind and ♥♥♥♥ up economy even more.

Before the nerf you could max out your daily challenges' streak to 28 days and receive 0.5 gold bar per challenge + streak wouldn't reset if you log in and do one daily. After the nerf you can max out your daily challenges' streak (4) to 28 days (0.25g) but it will reset to streak 1 (0.1g) after you reach 29 day. And what do you get for streak reset? Dollars and ONE map... The whole gold grind would be ok if gold would be used only to buy cosmetics.

Did i mentioned cosmetics? Yeah... prices of cosmetics are funny too. 6 gold for new revolver skin? ... Rockstar showed once again that they do not care about community of their game, they just want money from kids with access to parents' credit card.

Also there is case of cheaters and Rockstar's politic against them.
To get a ban you don't have to install any 3rd party software, you just need to pick up gold bar from the chest that was spawned by cheater, because that counts as „money lobby".

You can think: hmm there are 5 roles in RDO, there must be something to do. Nope.. there's nothing to do here. These 5 roles are too much repeatable and not even interesting. Good luck cowboy to not die of boredom.

I'm happy that i spent only $4.99, I would never buy it for $19.99.

At current stage? DEFINITELY NOT, if you don't have friends or have any other game to choose.
Fallout 76, despite having dealt with most of bugs from beginning, still has big issues.
Wanna do some group PvP in open-world? Feel free, but you will have to mark your friend every 5 minutes to keep PvP going. Poor story-writing, lack of difficult endgame content, bugs and bad decisions taken by BGS. Only community keeps this game goin'.

In a nutshell: punch yourself in the head and buy normal game.
