Surpisingly in-depth sandbox mode and high quality sequel to the original

This is a far cry from what i wanted the sequel of what is my favourite game of all time to be. Writing this is actually painful, and deeply disappointing, but i will revisit this review in the future.

I'm just going to list off a bunch of reasons this doesn't deserve the praise its getting, and why you should all go play PoE 1.

- The new skill system is underwhelming, and not very exciting.
- Still no inbuilt item Filter (Last Epoch got this right)
- Trade is done on an external website, still.
- Level design whilst is beautiful, is a backtracking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare, playing through the campaign is HORRIBLE, and has killed most of my excitement for trying multiple builds. ACT 2 and 3 can just ♥♥♥♥ off.
- Game is not harder then PoE 1, I'm not sure why this meme continues to pop up, its a lack of understanding on the players behalf.
- The items are bland and sparse, Particularly the Unique items.
- Build diversity is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this could be more of an imbalance problem, but seriously, its very close to D4, we don't want that. Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.
- Crafting doesn't exist, It really doesn't. Why do you hate deterministic crafting GGG?
- Going to the well to refil pots. Why.
- Identify scrolls, or talking to Sin to Identify your items. Why. If we just remove this, imagine what we could do with item filters (again, LAST EPOCH FIGURED THIS OUT)
- Charms are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and less useful flasks
- Boss Loot disappearing upon death of a character. Why.
- One Portal per map sucks. You can't have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ yellow mobs that can thanos snap you off screen and only give us ONE chance per map, bad game design, not fun.

There is so much more... And i know over time, most of this will be patched, fixed and improved upon.

In all, everything PoE2 is doing, PoE 1 did it better. And all the mistakes and annoying things about PoE 1, PoE 2 is still making them.

This is going to be a fantastic game, one day.

Right now, I'm constantly having to find work-arounds just to progress through the main story, I've encountered several game breaking bugs, some of which can only be solved by going back in save files and approaching the event or encounter differently.

I understand the difficulties the developers have experienced in making this game, and whilst it is an unfortunate situation, in the end it doesn't excuse releasing this product in an unplayable state.

I will no doubt revisit this title in a couple of years time, after 20+ patches or so. Just like i did with the original stalkers series.

Steam rejected my request for a refund.

House Flipper meets Powerwash Sim, but with a story. Great for a chill ADHD cleaning game.

Throne and Liberty has fanatastic potential, and could of been the best MMO release of the year.

But trying to complete end game content with Aus ping is impossible, that combined with ♥♥♥♥ tier net code just adds to the trash pile.

How Amazon didnt figure out how to add native OCE servers for this game yet managed it with New World i will never understand.

I now know what its like to be Coles and Woolworths, ramping up the difficulty of the cost of living crisis whilst trying to deal with room temperature level IQ employees.

9/10 would price gauge again.
