I'm an idiot Stalker fanboy from the beginning and I can't recommend this game at this stage. I feel sorry for the devs trying to put out this game in a warzone and appreciate their efforts.

Pros:
-Its a stalker game. The world is exactly what it is supposed to be with a fresh twist that makes sense in the timeline.

-it looks great though I don't have the gpu to experience the glory.

Cons:
-it barely works. Persistent memory leaks leading to my computer completely crashing or freezing up requiring the plug get pulled from the wall. I guess Unreal 5 incorporated itself into not only the OS but the hardware as well.

-enemy ai is literally an ai. They can detect a single uexpected pixel change in their fov at nearly infinite range, determine it is the main character, and zero in. When they start shooting they do not miss. The ridiculous dmg drop off on the weapons is the only thing that saves you, not even walls as they are literally wallhacking. Also ai fights are choreographed trash usually ending with both groups throwing a grenade at the same time, killing each other simultaneously.

-weapon dmg drop off is insane. A 12ga shotgun firing 00 buckshot may as well be firing sand at 12 feet. Pointblank or nothing.

-weapon stats are entirely made up and may as well be fantasy. Everything we know about ballistics and energy is undone. Ammunition has no real baring on dmg, penetration, range. All these things are arbitrarily hard coded into the specific gun. All smgs have higher penetration than all automatic rifles cuz balance or something... Watch what ammo type you use. A hollow point will degrade your gun more than a basic fmj.

-mutant animations are sloppy and unpredictable making it extremely hard to fight them espcially with the massive input lag that is not a bug but a feature.

-input lag. 300-400ms... On purpose. This is not a multiplayer game. There should be no lag ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ever.

-the UI and controls are a joke. Radial menus that you can't ignore. Tailor made for your dumbest console player. Don't even think about remapping. There's no point. It generally isn't permitted. They don't believe there are enough keys on the keyboard for you to use so they made the decisions for you and you are going to resort to multiple functions for keys requiring long press and tapping. There are some secret binds that you aren't told about though... Smart.

There is so much more that could be covered but this is enough for now. A lot of things can be fixed with early modding but the game stability is a real pain and unfortunately is reflective of almost all AAA games now.

Not the kind of game I usually play but it kept my interest for some time. Only played through twice but never survived to one of the many narrative endings. It's a text/turn/hex based, RPG survival game with crafting and looting in a post-apocalypse setting. Lots of random chance and encounters and you have to manage your moves and timing to avoid weather, and other health conditions.

Might play this again but both times I seemed to lose based on the game just deciding it was done with me playing and rolled me a bunch of ones to end the play through in a simple encounter I've handily beaten 20 times before.

It's worth a play especially if you get it on sale.

Edit:

Changed to would not recommend. Had another few runs and every last one of them ended the same: insta-killed in a simple encounter. It's boring starting a new game every 30 minutes to and hour, not even getting 2 days in. Half of the POI giving another wound despite high safety. Eye rolling. It has mods apparently so maybe that'll make it worth playing but I'm gonna go play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SOC instead of dying instantly to a wounded dog the second I get something decent.

Adorable attempt at memeing Oregon Trail but the constant screen freezing ruins the game.

Bad game. Apparently requires mods to be any fun. Graphics are trash and I don't feel like I'm piloting a giant, stompy war machine. Feels more like an exercise in frustration. Every mission is riddled with turrets popping up out of the ground, a swarm of tanks. Mech battles aren't that interesting because the enemy won't miss and always target your most damaged area, meanwhile you slap them with your wet noodle. Thing is your wet noodle looks a lot like the scream bombs the enemy is dismembering you with.

Radar and telemetry is garbage that constantly glitches in and out despite having direct line of sight, enemies can see you through trees, fog, distance before you can. Sensors don't tell you when your damaged, are taking fire, when a new enemy is detected. The older games are better by far. Melee is kinda cool addition but not really worth using. Building damage is neat but sometimes far too blocky in the way the buildings are divided up.

This game is an absolute steal right now for $6. Even if it's not the best Coop, class-based horde survival FPS (Left4Dead style but with classes), it's pretty satisfying. Graphics are ok, gameplay is standard, combat is a little messy but still fun, animation is mediocre... BUT $6!!!!

Actually very worth $25. I got it on sale though. They did a great job. Simple enough crafting, looting, shooting, and melee. Bit of a rogue-like. Your player is basically expendable and you spawn back as a new player with some advancements and perks in a way that makes sense for the story. Never thought I'd play another isometric shooter.

Some issues with POV where you are blind because the isometric view. They tried to solve that with transparencies and highlight outlining in some cases but they missed a bunch.

Now... lots of bugs. Common ones are avoidable and involve the procedural generation to mess up and block a path that clearly makes no sense. Zombies can sometimes hit you further than they can reach if the approach angle is right. The worst bug I've gotten more than anyone should is the inexplicable instant death. Not taking damage, have plenty of health, character falls over dead from nothing. And that's a waste of an hour or two if it's a good run. Taking a break from this game because of it.

Pretty fun game. Much better than New Lands. Way more deep in the mechanics. The only issue is the game breaking glitches that happen with archers and catapults. Archers just won't hunt sometimes and you get stuck and slowly drown because you have no income. Sometimes Catapult crews stand there instead of firing and with these two things in a kind of rouge-like game, it really screws you over hard.

Early Access Review
30 fps. If that isn't enough for you to bail then graphics are terrible. Movement is terrible. Crafting is so bad it should be criminal. I thought this game had been updated from it's beta phase. NOPE. Just whored out for console chumps.

The RPG elements derailed the game. 'This 10 foot raptor is weak because of the arbitrary number over its head but this 10 foot raptor is a literal god because reasons.' It's boring and lazy. RPGs have moved on from this clunky garbage but not in this game. I'd like a de-leveled mod like in Skyrim. Dino's value shouldn't be based on a magic number. Each kind should serve a purpose.

I wasn't a fan of taming. It took forever and led to managing nothing but a dino management game. And don't think you can play without them. You're just gonna flounder and get bored.

A glorious but dead game. It was just too much for most people to grasp how to load a cannon, aim, and fire. YOU KILLED THIS GAME!! YOU DID THIS!!!
