Built in ESDF controls. GOTY. No, GOTC (century).
I feel like a newborn, trying to walk, taking in the sights and finding my place in a new strange world.

Was already insanely excited watching updates, now even more for release.

Not sure how anybody can find these controls unintuitive, just look at the binds and you will know all you need to know.

I've always enjoyed Insurgency, starting with the standalone. The gunplay, the maps, the gamemodes... It's all great. And when I heard about Sandstorm ages ago, the Kickstarter and all, I couldn't believe it. New engine, new features, I was hyped. Time passed, I forgot, then it hit Steam. I had to get it. Was this a great choice? Maybe not... buying into Early Access is a tempting but generally rush decision for me. However, I wasn't disappointed at all. The sound was the first thing I noticed. It was beyond amazing, and I'm sure if you've heard of this game outside of Steam, that's one of the first things people tell you about. At the time, performance wasn't amazing, but I was still more than able to really enjoy what they had whipped up for everyone. Half a year later, and I'm still enjoying the experience. The devs are hard at work optimizing, making new weapons, maps, gamemodes, and working on mod support. It's amazing so far, and I can only wait to see where they take it. It's not a milsim, it's definitely more... "arcadey?" I don't have the right word for this. But it's action packed and fun. And in Hardcore, it's super tense, every move you make being scrutinized by your own self, wondering if around the next corner is gonna be anything. It's amazing.

If you want to wait for mod support, go ahead, but I can THOROUGHLY recommend it in its current state. I'm only more excited where NWI can take it, and I'll support them the whole way. They're amazing devs, and help support an amazing community.

I loved the original MapleStory. The sprite art (so cute), the music (all bangers), and the infinite variety of classes and stories to witness was amazing. I made plenty of friends and had many amazing experiences (I was once adopted as a Junior into a family then forgotten about 5 minutes later, deja vu). I even loved the cosmetics, which I could never buy, as I was far too young, and I didn't have a lot of time in the day to play. Yet, about a decade later and here we are. It was kind of unexpected to suddenly see a reboot for one of my all time fav MMOs, yet here it was. I wasn't all that excited, as I know nothing could live up to the experience I had with the original, but I gave it a chance. And hell, it blew my expectations out of the water. It's still simple, cutesy, fun, and just overall captures the magic the original had, but... different. Newer, modern, for a different kind of audience. Yet I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the changes and additions it made to the formula of the original. If you like a laid back MMO that you can still get super invested into, this is your game. It's seriously pretty great, and an unexpected gift to everyone.

Oh, and you can buy CBT hats so that's cool too lol

Do you like Twin Peaks? Do you like absurdity? Do you like a game that has an uncanny amount of camp? If you answered yes to any, you're gonna love this one, Zach.

Note: this game is horribly buggy on PC, and may result in plenty of crashes. Not even the various amounts of fixes can save you from this. If you do decide to play it on PC, be warned. Another thing to do, always, and I mean always, go into the game folder and back up your save data. There are problems later in the game where it may get corrupted or lost completely. It also helps when you move to a new PC but forget to back it up but it's too late because you already wiped your old drive because you're an amazingly forgetful person.

I've been following phr00t and his games for a while now, starting with 3089. I got it quite some time ago, and enjoyed it quite a bit. A simple, fun, challenging game that's also great with friends. 5089 is a sequel, and it really does improve upon 3089. Updated visuals, some new gameplay features, and some more. I added phr00t some time ago, and found that he was a great help whenever I encountered a bug or problem with the game, and he appears to be actively working on fixing problems that even a few users have. The only major issue I've come across is multiplayer not working so great, but the problem is hard to pinpoint, and the game is more than enough fun solo. Though, a major problem for new players would be getting a grip on the game itself. It is by no means an easy to pick up game, but after learning the basics, you're more than ready to take on the world, after leveling up quite a bit. :P I know I had to do the same when I started with 3089.

May 5089 continue to get better as the updates come along, and I hope I get more hours in it too. Maybe you should as well!
