I was extremely disappointed that nothing was added to the story content.

I really like how easy this engine is, it's a great thing for beginners to start with.
But I can't recommend a game engine that relies on auto-vectorization on compilers for its core code, unfortunately the direction Godot takes in terms of performance is deplorable.
