I've only got an hour in artico and I'm not sure when I will play this again but I know I definitely will. Its a very quiet and relaxing experience and I really enjoyed the small bits of writing I found in the hour of playing. I'm excited to open this up again after a year of updates the changes look excellent.

The base game is excellent, if you want a fun card game with a good plot to drive everything forward then get this asap.

Inscryption also looks great, the cards, bosses, table, etc. everything is great and if you like clicking stuff on the table like in heartstone its got you covered too.

There is also an extra mode, basically free dlc: Kaycee-modcurrently in beta. It is in theory fantastic. It features a system similiar to hades where you can pick restrictions to make the run harder. Finishing with more restrictions gives lore, starter decks and also more cards so theres a massive incentive to continue playing. I found it pretty balanced although some of the card types are a little unbalanced. I find that runs where I get bug cards are just kind of busted. The amount of rare bug cards available from the start is nuts and they are all very strong (mantis god, strange larve, even the tape worm can become a god or clear out the camps so you can power things up risk free). The other main issue is the boss AI. They are at least in my experince, very limited. They play the same cards so you more or less no what to expect and so it can be a bit boring doing runs back to back. The final boss especially needs some tweaking imo (maybe there are challenge things you unlock later that make it harder but i haven't unlocked all of them yet), his first phase is quite challenging, but once you get him into the moon phase its pretty much gg for the poor guy, it is kinda nice that you can kind of relax at the end but another thing that would be cool is if he used other rare cards. I don't recall him using the strange larve or daus rat guy etc.

Overall really fun in its current state, in the future I'm gonna revist once the mod/expansion is in a better state. Thanks for a fun game!

Rogue likes usually go stale fast for me but Hades has such a great set of systems to keep you playing that even when you die it doesn't even feel like a set back as now I get to talk and catch up with all my friends in hell. Along with the drip feed of narrative there is a large variety of weapons and subspecs that alter the way you approach the game. I found some favourites pretty early on and stuck to them but even using the same weapon ad nauseam each run feels fresh as you can swap out keep sakes to increase the chance of other gods appearing as well as keep sakes that encourage specific builds like the myrmidion gautlets giving you tons of front armour but a weaker rear.

What really made this game work for me was the heat system. I was pretty burnt out on the game but once I finished a run and you unlock the heat system the game just clicked for me. It lets you increase the difficulty and in doing so gives you new bounties or rewards. Whats great about it is you can choose how you want it to be more difficult - the bosses, general enemies, traps, less choices for boons, price mark ups at the shop etc. Its a fantastic system which also encourages accessibility to players who may be new to the this style of game.

The games music is great throughout, I especially liked the final bosses track as it develops throughout the fight (even more so with some heat options picked). The voice acting and character design really brings the pantheon of gods to life as well as the various characters in hell. Dusa and Meg in particular had such great performances.

Go get it.

Lisa is basically perfect. The music, characters, combat, everything is incredible. The story and mechanics play off each other in a way most games don't. You care about your party not only because they are people but because you need them in your party to advance; you rely on their abilities and skills. The semi random events in the game as well as choices throughout the games will threaten your parties lives. Some party members will even leave you based on the choices you make.

The music as well adds so much to this game; every combat encounter and area is scored perfectly whether to create a sense of dread or doom or to hype you up for boss fights Its great to see a game use its music to this extent.

The game has quite a lot of replay value but it can feel quite exhausting especially at the end where a lot of the heavier themes of the game are made front and centre.

Just play it.

2 hrs in its been great Its got a bounty system to get you through each level which works really well for helping you find fun shots and also get use to navigating each map you're dropped into. There's bonus ♥♥♥♥ to do which will net you more camera parts per level but the ten minute time limit can stress me out lol so what i usually do is take my time on the first run and take note of all the things i gotta do (which is really easy because the game has a file which it saves your pics to) and then on a second attempt ill crank out the requirements and have fun. The look of the game is great and the music is fantastic too the loose plot its got going is really fun and gives you a lot of fun places to take pics in. Good ♥♥♥♥ get the demo to see if its for you.
