The game is great, but the Anti Cheat is aggressive and buggy.
Fresh Windows install: Works without bluescreens since season 7 update
Steam Deck: Used to work, now says Login Blocked after 1 minute of gameplay.

The gameplay and controls are fantastic!
The story etc is amazing as well, but even the gameplay alone would get it thumbs up!

And it's really polished!

Update: I actgually did it and paid twice to find out what the hype is about, but aft level 19 I can say it's really really bad.
I loved FF 1 to X-2, but this is just hundreds of "Fedex Quests" with a bland story and 10% of it is voice acted, which is really irritating.

I haven't had any "MMO" interaction yet and any "derailing from the main quest line" is punished.

Also, read a tutorial on buying the game before you do. It really needs a tutorial and they exist.

Paid for the game, cannot install it (Unknown error, no matter how often I retry the 70.5GB Download.)
The launcher also showed japanese error messages on first launches, which disappeared after reinstalling the launcher.

Then I tried installing the game on my Mac, but there it says my account "is not unlocked for Mac" whatever tf that should mean.

They just stole my money and my time. I am pissed.

Also, the support just said I should buy the game (and any expansion) twice, if I wanted to be able to play on Mac. Just completely mad

Update: Mac Multiplayer was fixed for 3 weeks. Now they broke it again. I have no words.

This game is a technical MESS.
Mac is NOT SUPPORTED.

- Mac-Windows Multiplayer disabled via a patch?! (after we played 60 hours)
- Mac-Steamdeck save game incompatibility (save games are synced via Cloud Save, but not shown ingame)

Just don't release a mac version, instead of destroying it after 60 hours of gameplay.
We can literally only wait until it's fixed. 🤯 For 60€.

General game/class breaking "bugs":
- Arcane Trickster is just not implemented. The special Mage Hand is there, but does not do what the description says. According to Reddit and bg3.wiki, it never was implemented.
- Returning Pikes and similar weapons sometimes don't return.
- Shield Bash is not implemented (this one used to work before patch 4, according to the internet)
- Some NPCs just ignore turn-based mode and run right past you, slaughtering people while you cannot interact

If you get this game: limit your expectations. This is a Beta. Save often. Things will break.
You will be unable to play for weeks/months until a patch fixes whatever bug your stuck on.

The game does not live up to the fond memories I have of it.
It's always been an unbalanced mess.
But the game does have it's parts where it really shines:
- Asselus' story
- the freedom of character recruitment and development
- Monster development
- "Biolabs Theme" - My favourite piece of video game music EVER

I am really thankful for the port!
If you can get it for around 10-15$, you might love it

This is my mario kart replacement on PC.

It also takes the best parts from Diddy Kong Racing :D
Really love playing a quick session with friends once in a while.
Drifting Mechanic is easy to learn and easy to mess up :D

It really feels like a labour of love.

I regularly come back for a silly quick run.
Like the humor. Gameplay is good enough to not be frustrating.

I have very fond memories of playing this game as a child.
Sadly, the game does not live up to those memories.

But I am very thankful that this game was ported to modern systems!

I believe the camera in local coop was a little disappointing at first,
but I really loved the single player and am looking forward to trying online multiplayer.
