Loved this game! It's absolutely the definition of a AA title - you can tell it's from a smaller developer with budget constraints, but my word, did they make an excellent Robocop game! If you're at all interested in the franchise, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to buy. Of course, if you're not bothered about Robocop, your mileage may well vary.

Awesome game so far - plays a lot like a real-time XCOM. Lots of atmosphere and lots of stress - I recommend!

Oh man, this game is just great! Pure relaxing experience. Plus it's really making me want to go on a real-life Euro road trip!

My original review was below, where I reviewed this negatively. However, my number one issue with this game was the Ubisoft Connect launcher. It's still annoying that it exists when it's totally unnecessary when Steam already does cloud saving. But at least it actually seems to work now, so it's now merely annoying as opposed to completely broken.

The game itself is great!

I really like this game. I really do. It's absolutely excellent and I'm having a blast when in game.

But only once I'm in the game, because there's this nagging sense that Ubisoft really want to punish you for having the audacity to buy their game through Steam. By this I mean the game forces their absolutely dreadful Uplay launcher on you, which is not just an irritation, it's all kinds of broken. Every single time I play the game - every single one - it logs me out of the bloody thing for 'lack of activity'. Apparently we're expected to occasionally dip out of our game and interact with their pointless launcher nonsense just for the giggles. And every single time I go back to play the game, I have to log in again and check my email for their stupid verification code and all that other nonsense - because not only is the launcher incapable of staying logged in, it's also incapable of remember my credentials, despite having the "remember me" checkbox ticked, and it never remembers my PC, despite having it set as a "trusted device".

It's made even more galling by the fact this broken launcher is the only way you get cloud saves with this, so I have to go through this excruciating ball ache every time I want to switch between my gaming PC and my Steam Deck.

And there's no Steam achievement support, but that bothers me slightly less than that damn launcher.

So:
Yes to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla! It's a brilliant game! You'll love it!
No to Ubisoft and Uplay. Sort it out, for the love of Odin.

I honestly think this game is a masterpiece - genuinely one of the greatest video games ever played. I honestly just like spending time in it's world as much as doing the missions, although they are great fun. The game also has one of the best stories I've ever played through. Many don't like the controls and I can kinda see why, but honestly everyone should try this game some time.

After a while, it does start to feel like you're doing a non-existent, yet kind of stressful job, for free - but in the 20 or so hours it took me to get to that state, I was having a great time!

Great game, I very much enjoyed my time with it. Just go in knowing what to expect - it's essentially a slightly more action-packed walking sim, a la What Remains Of Edith Finch, with some light puzzling and exploration involved. But still, a great little adventure, and definitely one I'd recommend.

I've become horribly addicted to this. It's a strange but nice little mix of rogue-like RPG, card game and even a touch of settlement-building. I can't recommend it enough!

This is basically the best game ever made. You don't really need to know much more than that.
