If you played and enjoyed the original Slime Rancher, then this is such a welcome return to the same universe. The game is similar to the last, very cozy and chill, as you collect your slimes, and be cautious about creating tarrs.

If this is your first Slime Rancher game, I strongly encourage you to go back and play the older one too, if you've enjoyed this one, since there are gadgets that help automate your farm, more slimes, and also interesting biomes and some fun puzzles and minigames.

There isn't as much to play as the previous one yet, but there is more than enough to keep you busy for at least 20 hours though. My hours is two people playing through and collecting all the capsules on both of them.

Really look forward to the future updates that have been announced, and definitely recommend playing the game in the current state. It's not super buggy or missing any core features as it is, but I'm looking forward to the gadgets that helped with automating some of the farm in the previous game, which sounds like its coming in one of the future updates. I'm also looking forward to more biomes and slimes.

I forgot to mention, but there are also a few new abilities, slimes, and food types in this game too, and some were an interesting challenge or very welcome addition to make navigating the farm and world easier.

Is the game perfect? No.

Could it do with some bug fixes, reliability improvements, and balancing changes? Totally.

Is it in a good enough state to have lots of fun with friends, and will they probably fix most of the major issues in the near future? Most probably.

I'd definitely recommend this game.

The game mechanics are really well thought out, and there are some minor changes to the game mode I'd potentially make, but it's still a lot of fun. I've mainly played duo and squad FPP, which are both awesome. I bought it two weeks ago and have 54 hours so far, and have really enjoyed them.

Some people seem to experience a few bugs occasionally, but it's been smooth for me. Not perfect performance, like high fps, but I'm sure it'll improve as they get closer to a stable release. The biggest issues seem to be with the UI while lobby'ing, but it's easy enough to refresh it, and I'm sure they'll fix the issues with readying up and the friends list refreshing, before launch.

The map size, loot quality, and timings on the shrinking play area, really make for an exciting and fair game.

It's not pay to win, so the micro-transactions and cosmetics are okay, especially since they're optional.
