The game is incredible and the review bombing is unfounded. The only problem the game has imho is the CPU bottlenecking, i have a 7900X so it doesnt affect me that much but that’s not really a gaming cpu

The first game of the collection is a lot of foreshadowing, and may seem like what happens during it doesn't "matter" that much, but that's because it's literally setting up the second game, and it's so worth it

As I am having a bit of a rekindling with the Touhou franchise lately, this really hit the spot. Fantastic RPG mechanics, simple stats, lots of ways to interact with the systems however you please, it's impossible to imagine many playthroughs being particularly similar because of how dynamic it is. If you like RPGs like Wizardry or EO/PQ, this will appeal to you. The artwork in this game is also reaaaally pretty, the characters are rendered beautifully. Hopefully they'll release LoT1 too, preferrably with a portrait overhaul, because I really enjoyed that game way back in the day too!

Murder mystery where you really don't know what happened until you've played through multiple timelines.
There are hints about what's really happening sprinkled across the different histories, but only by beating all of them will you really GET IT. Very emotional, very whack. Give it a try, worth the full price I'd say, but if you're a bit sketch on story-driven games, maybe wait for a sale, as the gameplay itself is passable at best.

Funnily enough, unlike 999 which imho had better gameplay, but branching paths based on what you said in the dialogue, this game has somewhat worse gameplay, but it is that gameplay that determines how you branch out. It's an interesting juxtaposition towards earlier projects.

It's a good game, took me a bit to get "into" it, but once it clicks and you understand how all the mechanics work, like card removal, draw and discard pile, shuffles and draws, it's just good FUN

It's fun, has quirky humor and is very nice on the constant progression aspect. Seems like a game that'll last years. I'm hundreds of hours in and I've not even unlocked every function (not even close)
