About me
I'm am a beginner myself and in this guide I collect some tips and strategies that helped me the most.

I will update this guide as I find out new tips that might help.
How to improve yourself
Do not train against the bots on hard mode! That won't bring you far, because as a beginner it's impossible to win against them because they have more farms than you, which is unfair and you won't learn anything from that. I recommend you to play against real players online. Don't be afraid to play against better players, even if you lose you can learn from your mistakes.

Some of the best ways to improve is to watch your own replays. While you are playing, you can't always see what your opponent is doing. That means you don't know what he did better than you. Therefore you watch the replays and learn what your opponent did when to win against you. Try to adapt to or to copy your opponents strategy, that will help you to understand the benefits of some units.

Choosing your units
You want to know how to build the best army to crush your emeny? Well that depends on your own playstyle and what you want to do. Do you like to defeat your enemy as fast a possible? Then pick a lot of cheap and offensive units like the Squirrels and the Moles. Or do you want to play deffensive and build up a strong army and crush your enemy later but more deadly? Choose the Badger and the Bullet Hive then.

Some tips that helped me a lot:

Pick always the bullet hive
It's cheap and it will defend your farms pretty well at the beginning of the game if your enemy should try to engange early.

Moles are little funkers*
I would not recommend this because it's high risk but I got destroyed often by this strategy before the game really started.

Instead of building farms you could save your pigs for two moles and spawn them near the enemy base and attack as fast as possible. You have to destroy his farms first. Your enemy can't defend this because he/she probably built some farms and no troops to defend/attack. Which leads us to our next tip.

Always build a T1 unit after your first farm
Or straigt before your first farm. T1 means Tier 1 units which are in the first row

they are cheap and will defend your farms if they have to. You should not wait too long to build them because without them you almost lost.

Stalk your enemy
If you are waiting for a queued farm or a unit and got nothing to do then scout your enemy. It's always better if you know what your opponent is doing.

*replace N with C
Basics that I got wrong at the first time
As I began to play I had some struggles with the fundamentals of the game. I always wondered why my troops didn't came back when they were in a fight and I told them to rally back at the farms. Or how to make them attack the target I wanted. And some other things that might help you to get better if you know them.

How to retreat your troops
You might tried to do it like I did: run away from the fight and then press Mouse Right/RT and hoping for them to come back but they kept fighting and dieded.

It's simpler than you thought. You just have to hold your button and they will retreat and run back to you.

How to aim at specific targets
When you press Mouse Right/RT you will notice that a small white circle appeared. That's your rally-point which your troops are following. Where ever you set it, they will go there.

And to aim at a target you have to set your rally-point as close as you can to your target. If you did it right, the target should be outlined red and you can see it's health dropping down to zero.

Always be aware of your surroundings
As soon as you spawn you should know where your farms can be attacked from secure those attack points. I lost a lot of matches because hadn't covered all the sides of my gristmill and the enemy flanked me. If you can, put some Bullet Hives at your weakest points and that should do it for the beginning.
Tips for managing your pigs
Here are some tips how and when you should spend your pigs.

Don't be afraid to spend your pigs
It's not a bad investment if you can get your money back. Buy whatever you want, as long as it's alive you can sell it and get your pigs back to spend them otherwise.

When to get a second gristmill?
As the game's going on your farms will slowly run out of food, that's because they become fallow after 5 minutes. You will have to claim a second gristmill in order to survive in this cruel world. But when is the best time to do it? Since a farm is build after 30 seconds and dies after 5 minutes, the best time to get a second gristmill is around 3 minutes after the match started. So you will have enough time to build some farms before your others become fallow.

What to do if the enemy's attacking your warrens?
Well at first you should try to defend it as good as you can. But if that's not working you should always sell it instead of just letting it get destroyed so the pigs are not wasted.
Thank you for reading!

Another tip here: If you don't feel like the enemy is planning on attacking you, selling your bullet hives works pretty well. Personally, I only build them when i feel a raid is coming, let them heal, and sell them to get the max price. 60 food sometimes is what you need to get the advantage.
