Guide to Getting Images into Command Image Folder
By Half life Expert
Guide to Getting Images into Command Image Folder, by thewood1. Converted to Steam Guides by Half Life Expert

See the disclaimers section of this guide.

A lot of people seem to have issues with getting the image, and scenario, packs from the website into their Command Image folders.

I have created this guide with pictures so people will have a little guidance on performing the task.

NOTE: This guide was created by Matrix Games forum user 'thewood1', and has given me, Half Life Expert, permission to convert and post it as a Steam Guide. This is entirely his work, and all I did was manually convert it to a Steam Guide as well as making a few spelling corrections and adding in a few of my own tips and notes, which are clearly marked.

The Steps
HLE's Tip: Please read these instructions carefully and in order

Go to this site that can be reached at the top of the Mods subforum on the Matrix forum;
Or use this link…

http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876

You will see the screen below:

When you click the Primary Images: DB3000 link…

You end up here… https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B205vpZC1pGmY2VMWGZvLWRFbzQ/view

Like the image below:

Ignore the error, it just means you can't preview the file on Google Drive. When you click on Download, you'll end up at the below screen.

Click on Download Anyway. You should then see the file download progress message at the bottom of your browser if you use Chrome. If not using Chrome, you should have some notification of the download and its progress. It will take some time. It’s a very big file

When it's done downloading, your file download location should have a file called "DB3000 Primary Image 26 Dec 16.zip". The date in the name changes with the date Community updated the file on the website. The "26 Dec 16" means that was the last time images were added.

If you double-click on that file, the file opens and shows the list of images. Depending on your settings, You might have a list, thumbnails, etc. It’s a Windows thing.

You must highlight all the files. There are multiple methods for doing this and I am sure you are smart enough to figure it out. Again, it’s a basic Windows thing. (HLE's Tip: The quickest method is Ctrl+A)

Right click on any highlighted file and you'll get a warning if you are on Windows 10. Click on Yes.
Now you will see the menu with Copy and Paste as options. Click copy.

Now find your active Command directory. Be careful here. If you have played around with directory names, make sure it’s the currently updated and operating Command directory. If you use Steam, the directory is inside your Steam directory. You'll have to track that down yourself. Its not a Windows thing.

HLE's Tip: For Steam Command Users, you can go directly to the correct directory by following these steps:

1) Find Command on your Steam games list (in the Steam Client)

2) Right Click on it, then from the menu, click 'properties'

3) In this window, click on the 'Local Files' tab, then click on the top button, which says "Browse Local Files", this opens the folder where you want to be.

Then go to the DB directory in the Command directory.

Clicking on it brings you to the screen shown below. Double-click on Images.

That should bring you to the following screen.

Right click over the directory DB3000. You'll have some kind of menu with an option for Paste. Click on Paste.

If you are on Windows 10, you eventually get a question about replacing existing files. I usually just say replace If you have some custom files, they might get overridden. But if you do have custom files, you shouldn't need this guide. Be patient, it’s a big group of files.
HLE's Tip: You will probably get the question about replacing files on Windows 7 and 8/8.1 as well

Disclaimers!
Disclaimers…

1) If you can't work your way through this guide, you might be playing a game that is beyond your skills. There are some basic PC skills needed to operate a complex game that can be customized. That's just fair warning.

2) If you are on Windows 7, the screens won't match exactly and you are on your own.

3) The process is generally the same for other image files and descriptions. Directories names and such are obviously different.

4) The key is that people get confused by the term DB:
DB is the file or files that hold the game data. Don't screw with them.
Images are the pictures for the Database viewer and are split between DB3000 and CWDB, inside the DB Image directory.
Same for Descriptions.

5) If you struggled with this, don't bother downloading Secondary Images or Line Drawings. They won't be worth your effort.

Also here is a forum discussion about line drawings https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/app/321410/discussions/0/142261027581295845/

The answer to your secondary images is here: http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=2920 , look for How can I add images to the database and write platform descriptions? Line drawings are just the images that are not photo's of the unit, someone drew them. The database viewer in the game will show the t- images under the main photo, I think the thumbnail is the image you see with the unit in the game.

I cant thank you enough for this guide. I have had a lot of frustration to date, trying to get this sorted. ( the simpleton that I am.) I was flicking backwards and forwards from google in order to get images of the various platforms while playing. Took a lot of time! This works like magic. Thanks again for taking the time.

Thanks for the time to masssage the guide to a Steam version along with your notes. This was very straight forward and worked flawlessly. I have been focusing on learning CMANO primarily but noticed a lot of the UI version when I look up something have associated images with the corresponding database information. I had a passing curiosity why my CMANO-WOTY did not have it but chanced upon this thread. Much appreciation for doing this.

Your welcome, but most of this guide is not my words, I simply converted a friend's guide to a Steam version. My notes are in italics.
