Enchanting Overview
Enchanting in Torchlight 2 is relatively simple with much less risk than the first game. All you need to do is give an enchanter an item and he is guaranteed to give you an enchantment on it for a fee. However, efficiently spending money on enchantments as well as getting access to the ones you want can take a bit more knowledge than you are given.

It's important to note that it will cost money to remove an enchantment as well as adding. It also becomes more expensive based off the item quality and how many enchantments it already has. Every enchanter has a maximum number of enchantments they can put on one item (the highest in the game is 4).

Standard Enchanters and Wandering Enchanters

At the most basic level there are two types of Enchanters found throughout Torchlight 2:

Standard Enchanters -
They can be found in town, you'll get access to the first one part of the way through Act 1 after saving him. They'll always be present in town and always give you access to their services. They give you basic enchantments and aren't extremely powerful.

Wandering Enchanters -
They can be found wandering maps throughout the game. There's many types with various chances of appearing, they generally have more powerful enchantments and specific services. After using one they will walk off and leave the map. They have a 20% chance to do a powerful enchantment which will make the enchantment about 50% more powerful.

Tips for Cheap and Efficient Enchanting

If you don't think things through you can find yourself spending hundreds of thousands more than you would have had you planned ahead for your gear. It can get expensive later on. There's some important things to remember when enchanting.

  • Make sure the Enchanter offers enchantments that you want on the item, otherwise you could just waste money putting it on and then even more removing it.

  • If you plan on keeping a good item don't add the enchantments you want before removing any you're unsure about, it costs more money with more enchantments to keep adding more.

  • If you find a Wandering Enchanter you were really looking for DO NOT click on him right away. Think through what items on you are ones you want enchanted, if you have anything in storage you want his enchantments for, and if you need to grab more gold. They'll still be there when you get back as long as you leave them alone.

  • If you're not in a hurry to get rid of enchantments or put new ones on an item, put it off in case you find someone who will remove them for free.

"Yay, I found Fondo!" - Said no one, ever. :apafrog:

Only enchanters I need for regular gear, in the order I visit them:
Jurick > Garbahd (if needed) > Borris > Karkozi

Or for farming gear:
Jurick > Garbahd (if needed) > Filip > Karkozi

But seriously, I've seen guides recommending absolutely insanely lucky enchants, like 200+ of one stat on a single item from Borris. How do people do this? Is there a trick to getting the enchantment you want legitimately? Is it mods? :NAYU_SUZU:

Question about enchanters. Are they all available on each difficulty? In other words, can I use a wandering enchanter on a new game and then use him again on New Game+ or if I use him once will he disappear forever on all difficulties for that character?

They are allways avaible

Jurick the Socketer
Location: Act 3 Blightbogs->Midden Mine (chance 100%)
quit-reroll->run to midden mine->try to go down and right if the map seems to only go left center/up quit-reroll etc...
after a few tries you'll find a jurick, once you unlock act3 you can socket whatever you want
