Import Images for Posters, Backdrops, Ground Texures, Walls, Dancefloors, Logos, or whatever you can think up! Also you can make 360 Spheres for Skyboxes, Planets, Balls, or whatever you desire. Another use for this is to import images into Tilt Brush for reference material.

Import 16:9 Images
Find an image you would like to import in a 16:9 Aspect Ratio.
Here is a list of all 16:9 Resolutions.[pacoup.com] When uploading back into Google Poly the limit on resolution size is 4096 x 4096. The Max 16:9 resolution possible is 4096 x 2304, however you will find many more pictures at 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160.

Download the OBJ from this page. 16:9 Poster[poly.google.com]

You will get a .Zip file such as. (poster_OBJ_3A01fMN4zyG_3QBWft_RqDn.zip)
Unzip this to a folder and you will find 3 files. (poster.jpg, poster.mtl, poster.obj)
You can now delete the original poster.jpg and place your new image in this folder.
Then rename the new image poster.jpg.
Now you can Upload the 3 files back onto Google Poly you do not need to re-zip them.

First click the upload icon at the top of the page on Google Poly next to the search bar.

A popup will display which you can drag and drop the 3 files here or click the link to select files from your computer.

If you click the link be sure to select all 3 files and then click open.

It should take a moment to upload and then display this grid with no errors displayed to the right. You will not see the image immediately.

Click anywhere in the display window and drag to reveal the image.
Import 4:3 Images
Find an image you would like to import in a 4:3 Aspect Ratio.
I could not find a proper list that went higher than 2560 X 1920.
However here is a Aspect Ratio Calculator you can use to verify correct resolutions.[calculateaspectratio.com] When uploading back into Google Poly the limit on resolution size is 4096 x 4096. The max 4:3 resolution possible is 4096 x 3072, however you will find many more pictures at 2560 X 1920 or possibly up to 3200 x 2400.

Download the OBJ from this page. 4:3 Poster[poly.google.com]

You will get a .Zip file such as. (poster_obj_6pGfDtbqI-B_2H87FlB4Jgh.zip)
Unzip this to a folder and you will find 3 files. (poster.jpg, poster.mtl, poster.obj)
You can now delete the original poster.jpg and place your new image in this folder.
Then rename the new image poster.jpg.
Now you can Upload the 3 files back onto Google Poly you do not need to re-zip them.

Find an image you would like to import in a 1:1 Aspect Ratio. (Perfect Square)
When uploading back into Google Poly the limit on resolution size is 4096 x 4096. You can use any square image from 1 x 1 to 4096 x 4096.

Download the OBJ from this page. 1:1 Poster[poly.google.com]

You will get a .Zip file such as. (poster_obj_esT2WxZiEEs_4Q4DK53fvfO.zip)
Unzip this to a folder and you will find 3 files. (poster.jpg, poster.mtl, poster.obj)
You can now delete the original poster.jpg and place your new image in this folder.
Then rename the new image poster.jpg.
Now you can Upload the 3 files back onto Google Poly you do not need to re-zip them.

Import 360 Images
Find a 360 image you would like to import, resolutions for 360 images can vary a lot.
When uploading back into Google Poly the limit on resolution size is 4096 x 4096. You can use any 360 image with a width up to 4096, height for a 360 image should always be half the size of the width. So the max resolution for 360 image is 4096 x 2048 most likely the best you can find is a 4000 x 2000 image. However you don't actually have to use a 360 image on the sphere but expect some distortion of the image if not. Some abstract images or pictures of planets can work fine at least on a good portion of the sphere.

You will get a .Zip file such as. (skybox_obj_arOojlgI4L0_1cDlEG02ocX.zip)
Unzip this to a folder and you will find 3 files. (skybox.jpg, skybox.mtl, skybox.obj)
You can now delete the original skybox.jpg and place your new image in this folder.
Then rename the new image skybox.jpg.
Now you can Upload the 3 files back onto Google Poly you do not need to re-zip them.

I've been using your 360 Image skybox file to import 8K 360 images and it works great if you stay within the aspect ratio that you outline - 2:1. I find that 8000x4000 works very well.

Any chance you have a .png version of these assets on Poly? It would be really cool to have a transparency layer to play around with.

To import it into TheWaveVR you use the Wave Builder in your cave. When editing a scene, under objects or effects the search is searching from Poly. Give your poly objects some phrase in their name or description that is easy to search for.

That's all well and good, but how does this allow one to import designs and images into Wave itself? This is a tutorial for uploading images to Google Poly...I see features within Tiltbrush that allow one to import and export, but Wave seems to lack these entirely.
