Introduction
Annoyed by the 2 MB size restriction on guide images or want to easily embed an image from Imgur into your guides? Well then this guide is for you. This works for PNG, GIF, and JPEG images.
Instructions
  1. Copy the contents in the box below and paste it anywhere in your guide.
    [screenshot=1;sizeOriginal,floatleft;IMAGE][/screenshot]

  2. Upload the image you want to embed to Imgur and copy it's direct link.

  3. Go back to your guide and replace "IMAGE" in the code you pasted with your image's direct link.

Note
When using Imgur, uplading a GIF larger than 2 MB turns it into an MP4 or GIFV file. Just get the direct URL and change the extension back to GIF before embedding it.

I don't know if anything is changed since this guide is written, but I was able to create a GIF with LICECap, then upload it to my guide's image section, then add it to my guide using images sidebar. Important thing to note, it took the system some time to show the gif in that sidebar.

Imgur is possibly the best site to upload gifs as it generates a link that contains only letters, without symbols:

https : // i . imgur . com / ABCDabcd.gif

Also Reddit , although it is not a site dedicated to upload GIFs:

https : // preview . redd . it / ABCDabcd.gif

Something also useful is Github , although the links it generates are VERY LONG:

https : // raw . githubusercontent . com / USERNAME / PROJECTNAME / refs / heads / main / FOLDER / your-gif-name.gif

You're welcome.

If the image/GIF is not displayed it is possible that the URL contains invalid characters, e.g.:
ñ áéíóú % _
(among others)

The - (hyphen) character is valid (don't ask me why, I have no idea).

I suggest changing the filehosting provider to one that does not place special characters in the link .
Or, alternatively, change the file name when you upload it .
If your file name is something like my_animated_video_low_quality.gif it will be better to change it to MyAnimatedVideoLowQuality.gif

Examples:

cdn . discordapp . com / attachments / XXXXXXXXXXXXX / XXXXXXXXXXXXX / my_animated_video_low_quality.gif

static1 . howtogeekimages . com / wordpress / wp-content / uploads / 2017 / 01 / shutterstock_1743036647.jpg

These links will not show up in your guide.

It now has [/screenshot] twice at the end. Sorry for the constant complaints, but I don't want people assuming the guide is broken just because of a small error

The missing bracket still hasn't been patched... C'mon, guys, it's one character, and it's completely ruining the guide's credibility :winter2019sadyul:
