Race Driver: GRID, it's for me one of the best racing games i've played. So I've decided to make this guide.
Time goes by and things evolve, like PCs and higher resolutions. But this game did not follow this evolution at the same pace.

For those who installed and started up the game for the first time, it's only able to select resolutions up to 1440x900 wide in the graphics settings for the game by default.
This happens because the game incorrectly detect the amount of VRAM when using newer graphics cards, which will lock you out of using higher resolutions. I wonder why...

Lucky for us, there's a solution. Just follow these steps:

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grid\system and find the file hardware_settings_restrictions.xml.
Make a backup, just in case. Then, open it with a text editor (Notepad, for example) and find the following code:


You have 2 options, remove it or change it for the next values:


After this, save the file and start the game with Full HD or higher, if your screen supports it.
If the change was not immediately applied, try to do so now in the game settings.
