*SPOILERS* How to get a specific reaction from Claire

This guide will show you how to get each specific reaction from Claire near the end of Captain Spirit.

Suspicion "Point" System

It seems Claire has a hidden point system that determines what reaction you will get from her at the end of Captain Spirit. It is based on whether or not Claire notices something wrong about Chris during their dialogue.

Here are the different scenarios and dialogue choices that I have found to effect how she responds to Chris.

"Points":

0 points = Claire does not get suspicious at all. (I would like to note that the beginning of Charle's dialogue is vastly different in this scenario than the other two.)

1 - 2 points = Claire will get suspicious but will NOT confront Charles later.(presumed)

3 points = Claire gets suspicious and will contront Charles later.

??? = Not confirmed
--- = The dialogue/scenario below is only available if the one above has happened.
+ = The dialogue/scenario will only add suspicion if the ones below it have also happened.

Dialogue choices and scenarios that add "points".

Remember, this ADDS to Claire's suspicion of Charles abusing Chris

*NOTE* Now matter how Claire reacts to you, the ending with Charles scaring Chris away and the Tree house scene will still happen. However, The scenarios you get in Captain Spirit are confirmed by developers to effect what happens in Life is Strange 2!

*NOTE 2*This most likely is not a complete list, or may not be 100% accurate. If you can confirm something or find things I've missed please say so in the comments!

It appears that you are completely locked out of the non-suspicious Claire outcome if you have done any of the following tasks:
Shovelling Snow
Incomplete costume (bruises showing)
Playing with Firecrackers
Taking the recycling outside (beer cans)
Smoking in the treehouse (the cigarette you can find on Charles' windowsill)

Avoiding these plus passing this "speech check" with Claire will make it possible to get the dialogue where she mentions Sean and Daniel and has no suspicion of abuse whatsoever.

This necessitates leaving certain objectives uncompleted on Chris' list of things to do, so definitely not a run for completionists who want to tick off all the interactions. But very interesting nonetheless. None of this has any real bearing on LiS 2.

She seemed non suspicious when I did,

1. Cleaning the house

2. Goofing with friends

3. I doughnut remember.

She didn't seem superstitious at all when I talked to her. Nothing about opening umbrellas indoors, walking under ladders, black cats, or anything like that. Maybe I am doing something wrong because it seemed like I should have enough points. She seems more like a nosy busybody who was implying I was a liar and started making threats about confrontations.

Her suspicion most likely also rises if you call her earlier in the game.

*Sigh* you really misinterpreted what I was trying to say... all of this is conjecture, I gave a conjecture you rejected simply because it counteracted with your conjecture.

We do not know what choices DONTNOD will make relevant in Life is Strange 2, we do not know what the outcome of those choices will be... but you did change the title (I believe) to be less "I decompiled the game and found numbers and know how things work" inspired.

Cleaning the house + dad tripped and fell. Recycling box was on the porch as she noted.

No mention of decorating tree or buying one, after mentioned dad fell she went on saying she bet it was because of the living room being full of beer cans (thus him being drunk). After this she immediately went on to say she had enough, would talk to Stephan, and confront Charles; telling Chris it's not his fault and that it'll be okay (I believe she mentioned taking Chris away from Charles).

Due to the level of her reaction, I can only assume this was 3 points because of how adamant she was on getting Chris out of there.

I might try and play the ending again a few more times to see if I can replicate all three ending dialogues she has to see how different it is between 2 and 3, due to the current lack of resources online about it.

What did you do that made her suspicious? or the dialogues she said?
