-- Rooms that can be both diagnostic and treatment (Psychiatry, Ward, Gene Lab): only permit one or the other to be done. You can then have duplicates dedicated to one or the other in different parts of the hospital as described above.
-- Decrease the threshold for sending folks for treatment (I usually put it down to like 70-75%) and don't require a GP to sign off on final diagnosis. This massively decreases delays in diagnosis.
-- Feel free to put up your prices by 10-20% off the hop; it doesn't seem to have enough effect on your reputation in the long run to matter, and makes the early game slightly more finanacially stable.
Why Treatment 5 on med staff?
Treatment is capped at 100%, I'm pretty sure. A level 5 staff gets +50% from level alone, 1 machine upgrade gives +25, Treatment 3 totals 105%. I give them T3, Stamina, and EI. If you can afford all level 3 machines, level 3 staff with T2 maxes out treatment.
I was going to point out the treatment/diagnosis button but I see songbird499 already did. I will point out that you can make rooms "high priority" with a button on the same info page, although I haven't really experimented with it yet.
I agree with @Freiya.
Also rooms that have both diagnostics and treatment like Psychiatry and DNA, you can set whether each room handles treatment, diagnostics or both. I always set DNA to treatment only and if I want to use wards and Psychiatry to diagnose, I set rooms in the diagnosis area to diagnose only and have seperate rooms to treat so the queue doesn't get backed up. Mostly I don't bother though. I just set up General Diagnosis and MEGA and the other rooms to treat only.
NOTE: to set the activity, click the door and the stats tab. You will see the options in the middle of the tab.
Another little tidbit I recently found is in one of the DLCs(not sure which one) there is a Weighing Machine. Costs less and takes up a little less space than the medicine cabinet with the same buff. I can fit 16 in a 3x3 GP office.
One thing I've recently found really useful is inthe policies tab 'fast track diagnosis' so after a patient hits their threshhold they don't need to go back to he GP. This saves queues and had to be enabled on each level manually.
