Challenge Arena Intro
Hello there, second guide here. I'll show you the way I managed to scrape up a 4-Star rating at each of the arenas.

Basically, the Challenge Arenas\Cirelean Trials are races. You need to rush through the usually linear pathway to the finish line, breaking statues, eliminating enemies, avoiding hazards, all while minding the clock, in order to obtain the best score.
Score Factors
Time Remaining
Once you reach the finish line, time will stop and the remaining time will be added to your score. Each second equals 100pts; each centisecond equals 1pt.
So, say I finished with 8.43secs remaining. 843pts will be added to my score.

Lamps Statues Broken
Err, about all the way through this guide and my videos, I've been calling these things statues. I think they're actually called lamps... For the sake of this guide, let's just call them statues. Statues are floating objects you can break for points. They are each worth 500pts.

Enemies Defeated
You MUST eliminate all enemies in order to proceed in every trial with enemies. The exception would be Trial #5. Each enemy seems to be worth 100pts, including the giants.

Damage Taken
Every time you are damaged, 100pts are subtracted from your score. Be wary of enemies and hazards.
General Tips
  • For the trials with enemies, a high attack/fidget level will help immensely in cutting through enemies quickly, saving lots of time.
  • Having all special abilities helps. It's not necessary though.
  • Probably obvious, but try to avoid taking any damage.
  • You can cut through multiple statues in one slash. Saves a bit of time.
  • I prefer using the lightning projectile + Aerial Dust Storm combo to clear up the enemies.
  • When on vines, you can aim your jump. Holding down will make you slide down. Holding down and pressing jump causes you to drop down.
  • Try attacking while airborne to keep your forward momentum when you land. Attacking on the ground causes you to pause momentarily, losing a bit of time.
  • It may take several tries before you get used to the layout and grab that 4-star rating... Well, in my case, at least.
Cirelian Trial #1
Location: Abadis Forest, Denham Village

This should be the first trial you encounter. Several groups of enemies need to be dealt with, so a high attack/fidget level will help get rid of them more quickly, losing less time. Watch out for the fire hazards as well.

My Personal Best

5 (2500pts)
9000pts
15571pts

Eliminating all enemies and breaking all of the statues will net you 6500pts, so you need at least 25 seconds remaining. Doable at a low level. Cakewalk at higher levels.

Cirelian Trial #2
Location: Aurora Village

Enemies and fire hazards all throughout this arena. Higher levels will help in sweeping through enemies; lower levels may have a more difficult time.

12260pts

Cirelian Trial #3
Location: The Glade
You can access this once you have the Iron Grip\Vine climbing ability.

… I hate this place. No enemies, fire hazards everywhere, vines, tricky jumps. I think this was the hardest trial, for me.

4-Star Score
My Personal Best
0:40
11 (5500pts)
6000pts
6838pts

Breaking all of the statues earns 5500pts, so you need at least 5 seconds remaining. Double Jump will help.

Cirelian Trial #4
Location: Cirromon Caverns
You can access it once you have the Iron Grip/vine climbing ability.

No enemies, fire hazards everywhere, vines, some sliding spaces... This map isn't quite linear either. Easier than Trial #3, but still challenging.

Starting Time

4-Star Score
My Personal Best
0:45
16 (8000pts)
8400pts
9306pts

Breaking all of the statues gets you 8000pts, so you need at least 4 seconds remaining. Positioning yourself properly and timing are key here. Double Jump helps.

Cirelian Trial #5
Location: The Sorrowing Meadow
You can access this after you get the Iron Grip\Vine climbing ability.

My favorite trial. Air currents, spike hazards, teleporters, 5 zombies... Be prepared to act quickly.

My Personal Best
0:55
16 (8000pts)
9000pts
10626pts

You don't need to kill the enemies in this trial, but the extra 500 points are nice. If you smashed all of the statues without eliminating the enemies, at least 10 seconds need to be remaining. If you did eliminate the 5 zombies, then only 5 seconds need to be remaining. The boost jump will speed things up immensely, as you may see in my trial run. To cancel the boost jump, use a basic attack. Notice that I hop when I break some of the statues. You can also utilize the dodge ability to accelerate yourself and slingshot in a current, but only near the start of the current.

Cirelian Trial #6
Location: Archer's Pass
You can access this after you get the slide ability.

This is an interesting trial. You'll be using teleporters to jump around the arena to find all of the statues to break, then teleport to the finish line. There are no enemies, but there are some hazards present, only in the area with treasure. Once you get the treasure, there isn't any reason to go through the orange teleporter again.

My Personal Best
0:35
9 (4500pts)
4800pts
5113pts

Breaking all of the statues nets you 4500pts, so you need at least 3 seconds remaining. It's pretty much a matter of finding the quickest teleporter route.

I was gonna leave this comment on your profile but your comments aren't open so I'll leave it here

Thank you dearly for each and every one of your Dust guides, they were a really big help for me to be able to 100% the game. I've had a great lot of fun in the 40hrs I've played and you have helped me shave off a lot of frustration I could've had with the game.

Thank you a lot for the help.

Thanks for the guide.

For trial #6. Follow these colors (in-order): Red, Green, Cyan, Red, Orange, Blue, Pink, Yellow, Cyan (RGCROBPYC).
You don't have to memorize the colors. You can pause in-between teleports.
