Unfortunately the only uses I can think of for this are if you've somehow gotten stuck, but exclusively NOT in any of the memories; or in a plausible (but highly unlikely IMO) speed-running scenario, where the time taken to activate the teleport and then climb up from the dinghy is a faster way to some goal on the main deck than simply walking.
TL;DR, I believe the key is just not to get any three fates correct, so long as nothing gets typeset into the journal and the captain is blamed for every death you can blame him for, you should receive the achievement.
