At least, I'm pretty sure that's what happened. I was across the room from the black hole when it happened.
Another weapon they can't reflect is the Celestial Claw, I think it's the best way to deal with them together with the axe.
It's kinda tricky to figure out, but I think they eventually stop reflecting and die. That works really well with the Whisper's Edge -- they deflect the first shot, which you can easily dodge, and the second shot kills them. Found that more practical than the Celestial Claw for when they're far.
I believe if the Star of Torment obliterates their body, it spawns a parasite? If you pin them to a wall, it does not. Weirdly enough.
Killing them with voltride overload will spawn a parasite. Killing them with the Staff of the Azure Orb does not!
- Not sure what decides when a Sentinel Knight spawns a parasite on death but it's *not* tied to weapon used. I had a few situations when I killed them with Star of Torment and still got a parasite. Perhaps it's tied to the state of their "head" when they die?
- The reason why Protectors sometimes take two Celestial Claw hits is because you hit them too early. They're invulnerable until their spawning animation finishes, it's easy to spot the moment of transition between immune and killable in darker areas since there's a slight shift of color/hue when it happens.
- Strangely enough the few times I tried using Axe on Creepers they took two hits.
- Fire Visages actually only need two Star of Torment hits to die, but you need to be close enough and precise enough to hit them with all the shards both times.
