The pistol is a massively underappreciated weapon. Nobody seems to realize how crazy the damage on it really is.
To each their own I suppose.
It totally makes sense. Dive basically gets you a free shot on a stationary opponent. Why not combine that with the strongest single shot weapon in the game? (Obviously ignoring rockets and heavy weapons). Combine that with rocket diving makes full screen tackles a cinch and you should see why it's so effective. Give it a shot! It's a really fun play style.
Note that for the time being, however, I'm using Shur Foo as a main. Since I use a swordless loadout, I needed the kick to push back melee users. It was tough to give up Hailey since I really liked her personality and special T_T
