This Section will show you how to install GZDoom in your Hexen Folder.

1. Visit the GZDOOM Website
https://zdoom.org/downloads

2. Purchase & Install both Hexen: Beyond Heretic & HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel

3. Go to your folder where btoh Hexen: Beyond Heretic & HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel are installed & create a new Folder called GZDOOM Hexen.

4. Extract the gzdoom-bin-4-2-0-Windows-x64 Files to your GZDOOM Hexen Folder

5. Copy the HEXDD WAD File into your GZDOOM Hexen Folder

6. Go to Add a Game on Steam.

7. Select GZDOOM and add it as a Non-Steam game as GZDOOM Hexen.

8. Launch GZDOOM, Select Hexen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel & select Play GZDOOM.

9. Enjoy.

if i can ask, why do we need/want to use this program to play this game? runs fine for me on my pc which uses windows 10......what features does this mod give us?

That's for the DOSBOX Configuration

1. Visit the GZDOOM Website
2. Purchase & Install both Hexen: Beyond Heretic & HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
Go to your folder where btoh Hexen: Beyond Heretic & HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel are installed & rename "dosbox" (to "dosbox1" for example)
3. Extract the gzdoom-bin-4-2-0-Windows-x64 Files to your HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel folder
4. Rename "gzdoom" to "dosbox"
5. Enjoy
