Obviously the most imbalanced way to deal damage is to break Fidget's projectiles ('airstrike'). In Hardcore, this is made harder with lower energy regeneration. You do, hovewer, regain energy with sword strikes and combos.
Now, there is an aerial combo called "The Undoing". It is used on enemies in the air and plummets them down, regaining 2/3 of your energy bar. Now, the point is, it can be used on knocked up enemies that are already dead; and breaking Fidget's projectiles knocks them up in the air. So you just run through with an airstrike spam, and then look out for enemy bodies flying in the air to execute The Undoing on them, which regains your energy so you can start spamming again. Playing like that, your only worst enemy would be mushrooms and icecicles. Max out Fidget first, obviously.
