This guide will show you how to remove the Stronghold Warlords advertisement that was added to the game in April 2020.

Step 1. Navigate to the following folder where Strongholds HD is installed.
The folder should look something like \steamapps\common\Stronghold\gfx"

Step 2. Remove the following files:
logo3.tgx
logo3_presets.tgx
logo1.tgx

Step 3. Done. Starting the game from now on should remove the Stronghold Warlords advertisment splashscreen upon starting the game.

How custom? If you want to replace one of the images with a existing tgx image, you can try copying and renaming the file. But if you want to create a completely new screen you will need a tgx editor. The format has been reversed engineered here https://stronghold.fandom.com/wiki/TGX_file_format but I dont know if theres a editor that makes it easy to change.

is it possible to add custom screens instead?

Thanks for this guide, I'm stunned how few people care about it.

If you're not removing these files, you're mad and lazy and bald.

The best way to do that is using the left click when the advertising shows up.

This caused some visual artifacts for me, so I decided to try something else. In the gfx folder make a copy of black.tgx then rename it to logo1.tgx and place it in the gfx folder as a replacement. This removes the Ad and replaces it with black. Same process for Crusader HD.
