Cheap method to level Creature Capture!
Super short guide! So I did some testing and I'm pretty sure it's accurate, if not, someone comment below.

To save gold, simply buy ONLY creature bait, then go to the highest level area you have discovered and spam pet bait. Higher enemies grants more XP I'm pretty sure and you will get a lot of levels that way. When you are happy with your level, you can then start buying traps to select which creatures you want as your pet.

This has saved me a TON of gold because I was doing the typical bait then trap then bait then trap method but it cost sooooooo much gold!

you can get infinite gold in first town within 5 hours of starting the game. just gather from chests in the sewers, serpent pit and wilds, then sell all loot and buy potatoes and water. cook in batches til cooking lvl is higher and switch to potato brew and cook rest. sell all food and buy cabbage and water and cook boring veg. so long as you make at least 20 per 100 you get your money back and can lvl to 100.

my rogue bought 5k arrows, 4k bait, 4k traps and 1k potions during the 5th hour of playing and still had 1M gold to play with.

bait+trap is more efficient, after the 3rd town you basically have infinite gold to work with, you can go directly capture anything you want. And a failed trap gives way more exp than bait.

Also don't forget, most monsters will ignore your bait if your capture skill is too low

Mine, smelt, craft and sell. millions in no time. Cash is not an isssue in this game

That actually makes some sense. I was doing the latter method on low levels because I figured it would be easier
