I'm generally fine with startup intro, however this one is long and consists of three unskippable brand logo wasting precious seconds of my life booting up the game. That's gotta go~ Here's how.

Step 1

Navigate to The Ascent configuration path.

For Steam:-

%LOCALAPPDATA%\TheAscent\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

For GamePass/Microsoft:-

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\CurveDigital.TheAscent_1ezqdnbhnc70m\LocalCache\Local\TheAscent\Saved\Config\WinGDK\

Step 2

Open Game.ini with any text editor and paste these code.

[/script/movieplayer.movieplayersettings] bWaitForMoviesToComplete=False bMoviesAreSkippable=True StartupMovies=

Step 3

Save it and you're done! Launch the game~

Thanks a lot. My game would at some point refuse to start, i.e. black screen and thats it. With the modified ini file it works again.

Deleting the videos will not work after steam verify the game files for each game updates as it will be restored, this method works across updates :)

Or you can go to SteamApps/Common/The Ascent/TheAscent/Content/Movies and delete LoadingScreen_1008.mp4

Why cant we just add at the end of the exe file to launch

-nointro
-skipmovies
-nomusic
etc

They knew how to do this with Quake 1 and games in DOS/Win9x era
too hard for new modern gaming ?

Or you know delete the content video files for it, does the same thing.
Or you can choose what type of intro video you want to see, keep maybe the loop or remove that even.
