Which Character to pick?
By mamov
Hello! If you are a new player, or someone who just wants to choose a new character, this guide will help you with that via listing what role does each character play, what type of playstyle they offer, and do i recommend playing them.
This guide won't bore you with an essay about every character in the game.

Haru Estia
She is a Jack Of All Trades, meaning she is a really well rounded character that doesn't require too much skill to be good with.
She starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: Yes, definitely
Erwin Arclight
He is a character that requires successful uses of combination attacks (combos for you simple people) and dodges, his main weapon isn't long range which can be confusing because they are pistols
He starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing him (for a new player)
A: No, unless you want a challenge
Lilly Bloomerchen
She is the game's main DPS character which deals devastating blows upon the enemy at the cost of her hp being lower than anyone elses
She starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A :Yes, she is a good addition to any team but also very good on her own
Stella Unibell
She is a support character with really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage on her own, but she is also the best support in the game.
She starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: If you have friends to play with, yes
If you don't have friends to play with, no
Jin Seipatsu
He is the only character who has a parry mechanic and if you can master that, you become the best tank the game has to offer
He starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing him (for a new player)
A: Yes, but only if you want a challenge
Iris Yuma
She is a high risk high reward character dealing slow blows but with a high damage output making mastering dodging a necessity
She starts at level 1

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: Yes, who doesn't like a high risk high reward playstyle?
Chii Aruel
She has really good DPS skills which sometimes cost her HP making her gameplay one of the most difficult among the characters
She starts at level 14

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: No, because of two reasons
#1 : Her playstyle is hard and will feature a lot of dying for the unexperienced player
#2 : She starts at level 14 because of lore reasons, but that 14 levels were basically the tutorial, and skipping the tutorial for your first character isn't generally a good idea
Ephnel
She is a character that is really op as of 8/6/2021 and with proper use of her kit, most of the main storyline bosses will cease to be in less than 4 seconds
Overall she is what you want her to be, Area denial, Dps, even semi-support
She starts at level 14

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: If you want to skip tutorial, yes.
Her playstyle is very easy and op at the same time
Lee Nabi
Half-DPS, Half-Support, her weapon is the only long range weapon in the game which makes her one of the most difficult to pick up
She starts at level 45

Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: No, the starting level is too absurd and skips so much of the game.
Dhana Opini
An offensive character that has fast attacks.
She could be described in one word: EDGY
She starts at level 45
Q: Would I recommend playing her (for a new player)
A: No, because starts at level 45 because of lore reasons, and you'll be missing a lot of content, and you'll also have to discover her whole skill set instantly, which is a throw off for me

Wish Lee didn't start at level 45, that's such bullshit. She's the ONLY long-range character in the game and you can't pick her unless yo already have a serious character you play as unless you want to skip a huge chunk of the game's content? Who thought this was a good idea??

my first character was Chii Aruel, and honestly, i enjoyed it.

Sure, she has a pretty ridiculous learning curve if you've never played the tutorial before, but honestly...its not all *that* bad, especially compared to other games I've played like EVE Online.

my first ever character was nabi, only reason i chose her was because she uses a sniper lmao. been soloing the whole time the only struggle i find is with raids that need a party

I chose Nabi when the game got back on Steam and she is pretty fun to use but hard to understand.

I am a veteran of the original SoulWorker server while it was still under Gameforge and my main was Lilly and still is today. I just recently made a Chii character and i am enjoying her, but i've also been curious about the other characters and want to experiment with them. Thank you for making this guide so that I could get an understanding of characters i have not played yet before experimenting with them.

Understandable. But I do want to play Nabi that much. If she has that much of a challenging skill set then I'm willing to learn

I just started to play, and my first character was Lily, and I think I made a good choice: D Now I want to try Ephnel xD
