Final Fantasy II Rare Monster Location

Completing the Bestiary in FFII isn't that hard and you can do it by just playing normally, though there are 2 rare monsters that are easily missable: The Prince Goblin and the Iron Giant, in this guide i'll show you the location of these monsters.

The Prince Goblin

The Prince Goblin is located in Kashuan, right at the entrance, it has a small chance to spawn and it looks like a palette swap of regular goblin sprite, it drops rare items upon defeat.
it can also be found in the world map if you trigger the batle on any bridge, however late in the game the world map monsters will all be replaced with high rank monsters so if you are at that point of the game you can always go back to Kashuan and look for it.

The Iron Giant

The Iron giant can be found in the final dungeon, Pandaemonium, in the room where you fight Tiamath, you will need a lot of patience and some luck to find it as it has around 1,6% to spawn. It has a very high defense so it can be tough to defeat.

He’s not as bad as iron giant I’m not sure what his classification is but I read online he had about a 5-10 percentage chance. Was one that slipped through for me but you least don’t lose him forever.

I honestly didn't even know he was a rare monster, i don't know if he's classified as so

Hey great guide thnks for the heads up on iron giant, I also think you should add number 51 Gigantoad. He's a pretty unusual encounter and I missed him all the way up to pandemonium. You can get him in the desert before the switch, but if past that I found him in the mysidia cave in the treasure room at b4. It took some grinding before he showed up I think his encounter was around 5-10% chance so he can be easily missed.

Thanks a million for this guide. By sheer chance I found the Iron Giant in the exact same spot you highlighted on the map. I even found another one a few steps later.

Thanks! I somehow missed the Goblin Prince on my first run through, so this was very helpful for finishing off the bestiary.
