This version of the engine uses Z+ (Z-Depth) FOV, not traditional Hor+ or Vert- FOV. With that said, cl_fov=74 actually gives you 98 horizontal FOV, with ~ +10 vertical FOV, for an overall of 108 Z+ FOV

Just a note: this is vertical FOV, not horizontal.
