ive gotten 100 units on deathmatch doing this, the check for units just doesnt check initially spawned units
In terminal marine, it is fairly common for skilled players to become trapped on the light bridge. Covenant usually cannot last, but UNSC almost always use locked down cobras to form a wall and wolverines to lock down air causing an indefinite stalemate.
brute chieftain can stunlock and kill any single ground unit including a scarab and only excludes other covenant leaders.
8-10 teams of jackals can almost instantly kill all cov leaders even despite having 3 stars, though if they shoot the arbiter they will also all die when they make they make the shot.
In the 360 days there was a strategy of using healers to make a scarab essentially immune to damage. The 4 main counters to this were a Cryo bomb + rush with full army of air units, a solid army of maxed hunters rushing, laying a trap with locked down cobra's, or simply rushing multiple bases at the corners to cripple the enemies supply and production as their single scarab cannot effectively defend.
Also just remembered, the limited edition of the game came with the fireball warthog and the honor guard wraith (red/gold striped), a solid metal case, a free map pack for halo 3 (mythic map pack), cards for each of the 6 leaders, and a small graphic novel serving as a prequel to the game.
Also, from experience, a single 14 star grizzly > 20 hornets/banshees at once defying the game's combat triangle system, though only half as many hunters or cobra's maxed out are needed to defeat the 14 star grizzly.
A 14 star guass hog > than a 1 star AI controlled scarab with difficulty set to automatic and score higher than 200+. As the automatic enhances damage and resistance values greatly, one can likely assume this would also be greater than a player controlled 3 star scarab assuming the player did not withdraw the scarab.
Abusing this bug is seen as poor sportsmanship and will usually result in full team resignations as its commonly used within the first minute of play when players do not have the durability to tank an invincible drone indefinitely.
This was from my experience on xbox 360, i saw the bug used, but never learned how to do it and as such i have no idea if it has been patched.
