Step 1. Get the skin texture for your body

I believe the program may not like the OLD texture files so maybe save a copy of the newer VROID
Skin texture file?
Step 2. Go to a preset clothing item
It doesn't matter what, for the sake of my guide I'll be looking at a Top.
Step 3. Edit Texture
Go to edit the texture
Step 4. Add Skin Mask

You need to add the skin texture file as a mask. And I believe you have to do this every single time you want to customise clothes.
Step 5. Import Skin Mask

Go to Skin Mask
Right click the default design
Go to import
Import your Skin texture file
You're done!

It should now work! yay!

I mean
you could also just PAINT the skin mask's texture image to full-white, where black tells the program to "hide".
