Meaning of all modifiers

The English version has arrived! Yay!

Here I will briefly explain what each modifier does, so you don't need to waste your time. I will write the names of modifiers in the same way as they are written in the game.

Introduction
Yes, I used a translator, so don't be surprised if there are mistakes in the guide.

I have worked very hard on this guide, and I would be very happy if you support this guide by rating it and adding it to your favorites.

The list of modifiers will be divided into parts, just as it is done in the game itself. Screenshots will be attached to some modifiers (because it is better to see once than to try to explain it).

All modifiers are listed here (from version 1.3.4 r5682).

I would also be grateful if you check the Russian version of the guide:

Modifiers (First part)
TOP DOWN - View from above. The game will look like Hotline Miami. Pairs well with Weak Enemies and Weak Player modifiers.

SUPERHOT - Modifier completely changes the style of the game. The game will become similar to SUPERHOT (hence the name of the modifier). Time moves only when you move. Enemies are marked in red and the player is in black. While you are in slow motion, it can be a little awkward to rotate the mouse.

For comparison, here's a screenshot of the original game:

LIGHTS OUT - At the level, the lights will be turned off, and the only way to see something is the flashlight, which you have from the very beginning of the level. The flashlight does not shine far, and the viewing radius is so-so. It can be a real problem for you to notice the enemy coming for your soul.

LIVING DEAD - All enemies will be replaced with zombies from the Beneath gamemode. Stronger enemies and bosses will be replaced with skeletons, or zombies with tentacles. When you start a level with this modifier, all enemies will immediately run towards you.

ZERO G - ZERO G stands for ZERO GRAVITY. You can jump up to the ceiling to escape from the crowd of enemies, or hard-to-reach places. Thrown weapons and items will fly in the air. You can also kick enemies and they will fly upward. Shockwave works well with this modifier.

GREEN - Paint the town ... GREEN!
Totally family-friendly game ;)
The modifier was added to the game as an April Fool's joke. So, now when you wound your enemies, instead of blood, beautiful bright flowers fly out of them.

NO WEAPONS - All pickup items and weapons disappear from the level.

Note: The weapons that the NPCs are supposed to have in their hands can still be picked up, but it is unlikely that it will help you much...

As you can see, the musicians still have guitars.

FRIENDS FOREVER - Finally you will no longer need to kill your dudes to leave the level. All you have to do is slaughter the enemies and finish the level with your friends.

Modifiers (Second part)
WEAK ENEMIES - Enemies are low on health and can be killed with one hit. It's time to beat up some square faces >:)

WEAK PLAYER - You can be killed with one hit (just like in Hotline Miami). Cover your head and don't stay in the same place.

SOFT VOXELS - Enemies will receive more wounds. With this modifier you can easily punch holes in enemies. But it probably won't help you against bosses; you will still be chased by unkillable skeletons.

BOOM HANDS - You are able to kill enemies with one hit (even cooler than in Berserk mode). Enemy bodies will be blown up after the first hit. However, bosses will have to take more hits, because they still have a lot of health.

SPLATTER - More blood spurts from the enemies. That's all this modifier does. When you complete the level, you will see that more blood will remain throughout the level. I guess when you read "Paint the town red" you take the words seriously, right?

PUNCHING ONLY - From now on, your only weapon is your hands. You can't kick enemies either.

Good! Now we can fight as warriors! Hand to hand! It is the basis of all combat! Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon!

Note: You will not be able to pick up any weapon or item. Don't even try.

EVERYONE HATES ME - When you start a fight, everyone will run to you to "hug" you. Okay, they obviously don't want to hug you ... JUST KEEP RUNNING AND DON'T STOP !!!

DOUBLE JUMP - Have you ever wanted to learn how to do a double jump? Well, that's what this modifier offers you.

Paired with the "ZERO G" modifier, you will literally learn to fly. Why don't you try it yourself?
Modifiers (Third part)
GUN SHOW - One of the most interesting modifiers. A rug with a firearms will be located on the level. All weapons have infinite ammo. Have fun!

MACHETE TIME - Another fun modifier. As soon as you start a level, all NPCs will have a machete in their hands (except you, of course). If you block an machete attack, sometimes you can still take damage. So it's a good idea to run away from them as fast as you can.

UNLIMITED POWER - Your ability scale is always filled to the maximum. When using the ability, the charge of the scale is not deducted, so it will always be at max.

HARD HITTER - You hit enemies harder than usual. Also affects the kick.

SHOCKING TOUCH - As soon as you touch the enemy, he will be electrocuted (only a punch and kick will work). Even from your single punch, your enemy will fall on the ground, writhing in pain (unless it is the boss).

EASY SHOOTER - Yup, the game has been updated and now enemies can use firearms to shoot a second hole in your a$$. Using this modifier your enemies will become armed with light firearms.

HARD SHOOTER - With this modifier, your enemies become insane almost leaving you no chance to complete the level. Unlike the previous modifier, enemies are now armed with heavy firearms, which makes the game even more difficult in combination with their ability to hide behind various objects and dodge your shots.

Keep in mind that if you start a fight, your game will immediately become laggy due to the large number of flying bullets. So don't relax until you finish the level completely.

Guys, I brought us some dri--

PISTOLS SHOOTER - Almost the same as previous modifiers, but the enemies are armed only with pistols.

Relax man, I just came to order a drink.

NAILGUNS SHOOTER - Enemies and allies throughout the level will be armed with nail guns. You can't say that it's a very powerful weapon, but you definitely shouldn't underestimate it. The nail gun contains a lot of staples, which makes it a pretty good weapon. Although its staples are slower than pistol bullets, in the hands of NPCs this weapon becomes very dangerous, just like any other firearm.

Dude, chill out. It's just you in the reflection. How much have you had to drink tonight?

PRIMITIVE SHOOTER - In another variation of previous modifiers, enemies will be armed only with crossbows. If you stay in a gunfight amongst the crowd, you'll be turned into a hedgehog, so be careful.

What are you fishin' for, bro?

UNLIMITED AMMO - Yep, as you've already figured out, this modifier grants you infinite ammo for all firearms you pick up.

Infinite ammo = infinite fun, yay! ..... at least until you run out of enemies.

SHIELDS EVERYWHERE - Yes, selecting this modifier will cause shields to be placed all over the map. Apparently, the shields are scattered in random places, so if your shield breaks, you won't have trouble finding a new one.

Although shields cover your entire view, they can come in handy in boss battles, so don't underestimate them.

Class Modifiers From The Beneath Gamemode And Other Modifiers
BRAWLER - Gives you the abilities of the Brawler from the Beneath gamemode.
Q Button - Kick
Abilities:
Shockwave - A shockwave that knocks down your enemies. The ability does no damage, however, the enemy can fall from a height and crash to death. Does not work on bosses.
Stone Skin - Your body becomes "stone". You take a lot less damage. The duration of the ability is limited. When you use the ability, you will see an aura around your hands. This means that the ability is active. When the aura disappears, it means that the duration of the ability has expired.
Berserk - Berserk mode. You kill enemies with one hit (unless it's the boss).

VANGUARD - Gives you the abilities of the Vanguard from the Beneath gamemode.
Q Button - Instead of a kick, you can "charge" your weapon (the weapon becomes more powerful)
Abilities:
Light Blast - Weaker counterpart to Shockwave. The same shockwave, but working in one direction.
Restoration - Creates a zone in which player slowly healing.
Smite - Pointing at your enemies will tear them to shreds. The game slows down for the duration of this ability.

WARLOCK - Gives you the abilities of the Warlock from the Beneath gamemode.
Q Button - Instead of a kick, you can release 3 fireballs from your hand (the ability is restored over time)
Abilities:
Seeker - Also a fireball that explodes on contact with a victim.
Fire Bomb - A large fireball that deals great damage to a crowd of enemies when exploded.
Chaos - You deal more damage to enemies. Also, enemies begin to fight each other.

SPECTRE - Gives you the abilities of the Spectre from the Beneath gamemode.
Q Button - Instead of a kick, the player makes a dash, knocking the enemy down (bosses will not fall, but they can be knocked back and they will remain on their feet)
Speed - Increased movement and attack speed.
Enchant Weapon - Ability charges a weapon, increasing damage.
Teleport - Teleports the player in the direction he is looking.

CORRUPTED - Gives you the abilities of the Corrupted from the Beneath gamemode.
Q Button - Instead of a kick, the player launches hungry souls, which take away health from enemies and add to you
Abilities:
Acid Rain - Creates acid rain. If the enemy passes through the radius of the rain, they will take some damage. The player takes no damage from this ability. Works well on a crowd of enemies.
Entangle - The ability creates a zone, passing through which enemies will be pierced by spikes emerging from the ground. This ability does NOT deal damage, but it stops enemies well.
Raise Dead - A zone appears from which zombie allies spawn. Your mates can help you by distracting the crowd.

RANDOM FRIENDS - From the very beginning of the level random NPCs will become your allies. Allies will have bright green emoticons above them. You're lucky if the boss becomes your ally.

Note: Accidentally hitting an ally, the emoticons over the heads of all allies will change from cheerful green to yellow surprised. If you hit the ally again, then all your allies will be hostile to you. Also, if you had the guts to kill your friend, I suggest you run, because your friends will no longer intend to help you and will instead go to deal with you.

NO SLOW MO - When you press the R button (abilities button by default) there will be no slow motion. Also there will be no slow mo during Berserk and Smite abilities.

SLOW MO RUN - When you press Shift (sprint button by default), you will be able to run in slow motion. This may be useful for you when you need to get rid of strong bosses and also to dodge all sorts of enemy attacks.

Conclusion
That's all. If new modifiers are added to the game, then I will definitely write them here. If I helped you with something, I will be glad if you rate this guide. Good luck and have fun!!!

Sounds nice)))))
And I prefer to use the Vanguard or Brawler classes for Beneath runs, while using the other classes purely for fun :steamhappy:

Hey buddy! Looks like I'm a little late...
Yes, I know that the game has already been updated several times and new modifiers have been added. I will be sure to update this guide as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

Oh, and also thanks for the great modifier combinations! I'm thinking of adding another section to the guide where great combos will be listed!

My favorite combination is Living Dead, Lights Out, Gun Show, and No Weapons for a spooky zombie shooter type game. Sometimes I throw in Top Down just for fun.

Top Down and Gun Show also pair well with the modifiers that give enemies guns, which don't seem to be listed here.
Metrocop55  [author] 22 May, 2023 @ 1:09am
Agree. It would be much more fun and more difficult.

Oh, you're welcome, buddy ;)

I'm also planning to update the guide when I have free time, as I see that something has been added to the game since then.
