So, while taking a peek at the game files by pure curiosity, I stumbled upon localization files containing the audio dub for several languages. Turns out these are completely optional and the game boots fine without them, allowing you to shave off up to 8 gigs of your Lego Star Wars install.

To do so it's very simple, head to your install folder by right clicking the game in your steam library and click on "Browse local files". In there you'll find several files named "LP_LANGUAGE.DAT". (English is already in the base game file so there's no way to delete it) You can remove any/all of them, so for example if you wish to play with mumble mode or your language's dub, you still can.

And that's all there is to it really, I'm guessing they might come back whenever the game updates so it's up to you to delete them or not. Enjoy the free'd up storage space, and happy gaming!

IN CASE YOU'RE WEARY IT MIGHT BREAK YOUR GAME:

I opened the files myself using QuickBMS and the TSS script available on TT's Modding discord. The files contain audio data only and won't break your game if removed. The worst thing that can happen is that if you select a deleted dub, you just will have muted dialogue until you select a language that's not deleted. If you want the files back, you can redownload them by verifying the game files.

@451 Observant Sky then this is what you should put in the guide:

I opened the localization files using QuickBMS and the TSS script from the TT modding discord, and it only contains audio files. Deleting them ONLY causes muted dialogue for the deleted languages, the game works fine otherwise, allowing you to shave off up to 8 gigs of your Lego Star Wars install.

I think this is a great explanation, and even if it goes through alot of peoples heads, it still makes it seem complicated enough for someone to trust you, all I wanted to do was help, and yea I can vouch for quickbms and the tss script as being legit cause I myself have used before.

@redakdal Well for argument's sake I opened the localization files using QuickBMS and the TSS script from the TT modding discord, and it only contains audio files. Deleting them ONLY causes muted dialogue for the deleted languages, the game works fine otherwise and even still has text localization for people wanting to have english with subs

@CIA Scotty, English is contained in the base game files, there's no separate file for the English dub

Unless you can explain to us in a more detailed technical way, I would not advise anyone deleting files unless you absolutely know what that file contains.

While these files main contain Languages that you may or may not ever use, they are apart of the game as a whole, deleting them can lead to unintended consequences.

I understand this user is trying to help, but at the same time it doesn't sound like great advice, if nothing else delete files at your own risk, but I personally would not do it.
