How to unlock hidden characters in Cyberbots (Original/Easy Select)

Since the original method of unlocking the characters through button inputs has a tight input window, I decided to drop the alternative method this collection offers here.

Methods:
To unlock the characters through the Original Select, you'll have to input a button combination quickly, after selecting your VA (Variant Armour) and it's victory animation plays, and you must finish before the VS screen comes up.

To unlock the characters through Easy Select you'll simply have to input a direction twice after selecting a VA.

For both methods, since you're aiming for a secret character, the VA you select is irrelivant.
P-10033 GAITS

For Original Select, press: Attack1, Attack2, Boost, Weapon, Attack1, Boost
For Easy Select, press: Forward x2
S-008 SUPER-8

For Original Select, press: Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Attack1, Up, Left, Down, Right, Attack2

For Easy Select, press: Down x2
UVA-02 HELION

For Original Select, press: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Boost, Weapon
For Easy Select, press: Up x2
X-0 WARLOCK

For Original Select, press: Left, Attack1, Up, Attack2, Right, Boost, Down, Weapon
For Easy Select, press: Back x2

Note: Since Warlock is notoriously cheap, some people may not want to have to deal with it when playing with friends, so if you highlight the secret character option in the settings menu and keep scrolling, you'll see an option called Easy Select (Warlock Disabled). The other 3 remain selectable, naturally.

@Festive Katros I so want to be able to do it! I have to buy it again though. I understood it as: selecting a VA, confirming, then doing the directional button trick which has a very short window and like I said nothing happens.

@Bobotmeister Perhaps I didn't explain it well, but you have to do it before the VA's sprite goes away and your pilot's portrait shows up. If you do it in time, you'll see the portrait of the VA you chose (for example: If you selected Blodia, then pressed Forward x2, before the sprite goes away, you should see your pilot and Gaits instead of Blodia)

trying this with an x box controller using the easy select. after selecting my VA and pressing the directional button... nothing happens. :steamsad:
