Darkstalkers/Vampire The Night Warriors
Before attempting this, make sure that you have the "Huitzil/Phobos & Pyron Enabled" option enabled in EX settings, otherwise it won't work.

Huitzil/Phobos & Pyron
To select Huitzil/Phobos: Highlight Demitri and press Up or highlight Anakaris and press Down

To select Pyron: Same thing as Huitizil but scroll right from it
Vampire Savior/2 Vampire Hunter 2
-----------------
Dark Talbain/Dark Gallon
To select Dark Talbain/Dark Gallon: Highlight Jon Talbain/Gallon and hold Start, then press 3 punches simultaneously or 3 kicks for the alternate colour

Differences: Dark Talbain doesn't really have any notable gameplay changes, it's essentially a skin that makes him red and makes his body flicker, as well as giving him a different intro and changing the sprite of one of his supers into the one from Night Warriors/Vampire Hunter: Darkstalker's Revenge.

Regular Dragon Cannon

Dark Talbain's version

Note: Dark Talbain is only available in the original Vampire Savior
Oboro Bishamon
To select Oboro Bishamon: Highlight Bishamon and hold Start, then any punch of kick button

Differences: He regains some of his old moves, as well as being supplied new ones, while losing the soul based special move regular Bishamon has (and you'll notice in gameplay that he doesn't have them floating around himself) and he has some new intros and victory poses as well.

You can also fight against him as a special boss. See how here: https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2829576758

Note: In Vampire Savior, he only has two colours, while in Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2 he has a full set of colours just like the rest of the cast

Shadow

To select Shadow: Highlight the Random Select button and press start 5 times, then press any Punch or Kick button, if done right, you will be assigned a random character with Shadow looming behind him or her.
Alternatively, you can highlight a character of your choice, press start 3 times, and then do the procedure to using Shadow, so you can start with a specific character instead.

As you may be able to tell from the description and the picture, Shadow isn't a regular character. You will be playing as a random character when you first select him, and afterwards, he will leave the body he was using and possess your opponent's.
On the victory screen, he has his own theme and will briefly flash the victory portrait of your defeated opponent. On the Score Ranking, he won't have his name displayed, and instead will have a question mark in it's place.

Note: In the original Vampire Savior, he only has one colour, but in Vampire Savior 2 and Hunter 2, he has several options, like the rest of the cast.
Marionette

To select Marionette: Highlight Random Select and press Start 7 times, then press any Punch or Kick Button. If done right, Marionette will come swinging upwards.

She's similar to Shadow, but instead of turning into your defeated opponent, she will mimic your current opponent with a unique intro. On the victory screen, she has her own theme (which depending on the game has a happier or sadder tone) and will display a silhouette of your next opponent.

Note: Marionette is not availabe on the original Vampire Savior, only in Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2.
Alternative Versions notes
In the updated versions of Vampire Savior, (Vampire Hunter 2 and Vampire Savior 2) Huitzil/Phobos, Donovan and Pyron were added back, and in the case of the former two, there were alternate versions that essentially give you the gameplay of the specific version of the character on the opposite game, (so for example if you're playing Vampire Hunter 2 but hold start before selecting Donovan, he'll have his features from Vampire Savior 2 and vice versa)

Not much changes however. It's essentially one part of their options that gets modified, so it's pretty much down to preference. Naturally, their colour options are also the same.
Alternative Huitzil/Phobos

To use Alt. Phobos: Highlight Phobos, then hold start and use any Punch or Kick button

Differences:

Vampire Hunter 2 version: Phobos can freely crouch walk and can force a landing while floating in mid air, however, it's "floating" ability is more so a jump that stays airborne for a bit longer

Vampire Savior 2 version: Phobos has diagonal air movement and can remain floating for much longer
Alternative Donovan

To use Alt. Donovan: Highlight Donovan, then hold start and use any Punch or Kick button

Differences:

Vampire Hunter 2 version:
  • Light Killshred Plant - sticks the sword near Donovan
  • Medium Killshred Plant - moves it a jump distance away from him
  • Heavy Killshred Plant - moves it half a screen away
  • Anita will follow Donovan

Vampire Savior 2 version:
  • Light Killshred Plant* - moves the sword to the left of Donovan
  • Medium Killshred Plant - sticks the sword near him
  • Heavy Killshred Plant* - moves the sword to his right
  • Anita will follow the opponent

*In both cases the distance to which he teleports the sword is about a jump's distance away.
