Oxenfree is a psychological-thriller about a group of teenagers going to an island for a night, and some paranormal happenings that change the course of your life- if you can remember the events.

The first playthrough this guide will be doing will be the good-guy playthrough; meaning you get Jonas to be your new step-brother, you get Ren and Nona to date, and will additionally have the locations of all of the Adler letters and anomaly frequencies.

The Matchmaker achievement is given when you get Ren and Nona to date by the end of the game. This achievement is one of the more complicated as you have to start as soon as you start playing truth or slap down on the beach.

- When you start playing, don't call out Ren for liking Nona. After you get done playing, before you go in the cave with Jonas and Ren, you should talk to Nona. This is not needed, but does help.










- The next part of getting this achievement is after you rescue Ren and bring him back to the tower. You have the option of who to bring to Main Street with you, choose Jonas so Ren and Nona are left alone in the tower.



















- The next part of the achievement comes when you get into the Adler estate and Nona is sitting with Clarissa on the dock. Talk to her again about Ren before progressing the game.



















- The last part comes when you talk to Nona during the time loop at Bridge stand; reassure her that Ren knew she liked him.

This achievement is gained when you get Jonas to be your new step-brother. Basically any time you talk to him be nice.


Some major choices to help with getting this are:

- After you go to Clarissa and go back to Hardin Tower, don't blame Jonas for anything that has happened that night.



















- Help him with the tape player once you get down into the bunker so he can talk to his mom.



















- At the last flash back when you're talking to Michael, tell him to go to school so he still has his accident and Jonas becomes your step brother.

For this achievement you will need to go towards Ren when given the option at Hardin Tower over where to go. Then go through the Towhee Woods and you will come to a cliff where you can climb down or jump across, jump across the chasm, and after Jonas jumps after you the achievement will pop.

These achievements are gained when you find all of Maggie Adler's letters strewn across the map. The letters don't spawn until after you get to Main Street, so wait until after then to start grinding out these letters.

The location of the letters are:
- At main street, when you find the new radio. This letter is unmissable.










- When you go outside after finding the new radio, to the right of the building.










- Next to the building at the Discovery Cliffs










- Next to the lighthouse at the Epiphany Fields










- Next to the stairs at Beacon Beach










- At the base of Hardin Tower










- Base of the tower at Milner Outpost










- By the beds at the Facilities at Fort Milner










- Outside the U.S. Army RCS to the left










- Near A sitting log in the Towhee Woods










- Near the mini grave yard at Bridge Stand










- At the campgrounds










- Near the well at Relay Point

This achievement is gained when you find all 12 of the hidden frequencies strewn across the map. These are marked by a small stack of rocks.


The locations of the frequencies are:
- Inside the locked building at discovery cliffs










- Near the lighthouse at Epiphany Fields










- Near the bunker at Epiphany Fields










- Near the targets at Milner Outpost










- Inside the radio locked room at the Facilities










- Down at the U.S. Army RCS










- At the Towhee Woods










- Near the mini graveyard at Bridge Stand










- To the right of the water fall at Bride Stand










- At the campgrounds










- Near the bench at the campgrounds










- To the left of the well at Relay Point

This achievement is an unmissable one as regardless of how you play, you get it at the end after you complete the game for the first time.

The second playthrough in this guide will go over being the bad guy. You get the Fire starter, You'd End up Hating Each Other Anyway, and Thicker than Water achievements.

This achievement is gained when you call Ren out on the beach about him liking Nona and you slap him.

This achievement is gained when you do the exact opposite of Match Maker. Call Ren out on the beach, take Nona to Main Street with you, just keep Ren and Nona from dating. You can also do everything I have listed on the achievement for Firestarter.

This achievement is gained when you make enemies with everyone. Just be overall rude, make bad choices, and do some shady stuff. Some things you can do are:


- Don't talk to Nona before leaving the beach.



















- Save Clarissa first instead of Ren.



















- Blame Jonas for everything that has happened in the caves.



















- Take Nona to Main Street and let the boys fight it out in the tower.



















- Sacrifice Clarissa at the Adler Estate and tell everyone about it.



















- Don't talk to Nona at the Bridge Stand or Adler Estate.



















- Don't help Jonas with the tape player at the bunker.

This achievement is gained when you bring Michael back to life. To do this you have to tell him to go to school in town at the very last cut scene of the game. This will make him stay in town and he will never have his drowning accident. This will also cause Jonas to not become your step-brother.

This achievement and run is simple, every time a speech bubble pops up with the option to speak, say nothing. There are times where Alex will talk when interacting with something, this does not count towards getting the achievement. Again at the end of the game when it makes you choose what you did after the island, this does not count towards the achievement. Just never pick a speech option when given the chance.
