Tips to reduce stutter, improve performance & Reduce crashing
By Sul
This guide will not be a panacea for everything wrong with this game's technical particularities (and there are many), but from my experience, these measures have veritably increased performance and reduced CTD's.

Guide
Note: with the recent patches rolled out for the game, following these steps may not be necessary anymore. The game runs very well right now but feel free to apply these steps if you need to.

  • Open start, search "GPU", then click on the first result (Graphics Settings). Then set "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" to "On"
  • In the game, disable DLSS, set the game to its native resolution, and cap FPS to 60.

For Nvidia users;
  • Open Nvidia control panel
  • Go to the "Manage 3D Settings" tab from the left
  • Scroll down to Shader Cache size and set it to 10Gb (either in global settings, or select Gotham Knights from the program list if you don't want that to be a global setting. Make sure there are 10Gb of free space on the drive where the game is installed)

With the above remedies, not only does the game run significantly better, with very rare stuttering, but it also crashes a lot less. Turning while gliding or riding the Batcycle no longer makes the game stutter at random.

If you have any more tips, please share them in the comment section.

where do you look for the program list using the Nvidia control panel. If you do not not want the 10Gb to be global? Thanks for any assistance in doing this correctly :)

thanks it um worked really good because i did the nvidia things and the dlss but i never touched the games limiter which made me able to play longer before it crashed but it ultimately works and i was playing on medium so i can imagine it works even better on low

Any idea what to do if there are latency issues between two players in a co-op session? My brother and I live in the same house and use the same internet, but oftentimes he or I experience extreme delays during combat where hits land after 4 seconds +/- and this makes dodging nearly impossible.
