Intro

Now this is a very basic tour of the main menu system of Team Fortress 2.

Help me catch any grammar mistakes, misspellings and incorrect information. Thanks in advance.

Top Bar

Twitch Icon

The icon will redirect you to Twitch where gamers are streaming/playing TF2.

Contracker

Clicking here will take you to the Contracker's main menu.

These are very special missions, some of which requires special tickets to access (Ya can either buy these from the either the Mann Co. store or the Marketplace.

In Halloween, the Scream Fortress assignments are added into the Contracker.

Notifications

The Notifications just does basic announcements, like the new Scream Fortress. It will also redirect you to the game's official blog.

Find A Game

This will open up the side bar of all the various game modes.

To close this, click on the tiny red arrow that I have circled.

Exit

Here's the Exit button, in case, you're done.

Bottom Screen

Items

This is where your TF2 inventory is, here you can equip weapons, hats, effects and cosmetics on your mercenary. It's also the place where one can craft new weapons.

Note: Don't confuse this inventory for your Steam inventory, they're two separate things.

Shop

The Shop buttons will go to the Mann Co. store, where one can buy hats, cosmetics, tickets, map stamps and other merc items.

Options

The Options are mainly settings for toggling.

Yellow Moon Lollipop Tip

You can click and drag the Options window around the main menu.

Advance Options

The Advance Options has more features and settings to toggle the game to your liking.

New User Forum

The New User Forum will just redirect you to TF2's Steam Discussion forums.

View Achievements

This is where you can see your achievements.

Another open secret, the achievements window can be clicked and dragged around.

Note: Some of the achievements are kinda tricky or downright impossible to get, like this achievement where ya have to team up with friends and show up at the right place at the right time to get it.

Dev Commentary

This is a quiet "game" mode where you play as Scout and go to certain areas, find and listen to the BTS of TF2.

Coach Button

This icon is to find a player that's better than ya to teach you the Mann Co. ropes. But be aware that this icon is busted and doesn't work.

Workshop

You'll encounter this message, before ya will do anything.

The Workshop icon will take you to the Steam Workshop, where ya can make, browse the creations that others have made or fave, like, or vote.

Replay

The Replay button is actually a tiny collections of clips.

Bug Report

The Bug Report button is to alert Valve for some glitches that ya might come across.

Mode Selection/Side Bar

Casual

Competitive

This mode is where things are hyper difficult.

Mann Vs. Machine

This will take you to the special game mode where ya fight waves of bots, be aware though that this mode is different from the other gameplay modes.

Community Servers

Here one can search for the custom made servers to join, whether it's the last server that you and a bunch of friends played last, a silly server (like Lazy Purple's), trading servers, a practice area and such. You can find them all here.

Semi-cheating, since most of what I faved are practice servers, Uncle Dane's anti-bot fun servers, and a Lazy Purple's Silly Servers.

You can also Favorite them, that way ya can return to them.

Tip: You can click and drag the CS window around.

Mega-Green Herb Lollipop

Practice Walkway

This is the basement area.

Now tf2_walkway and tf2_walkway_rc2 are one of the oldest community made maps, this is where both newcomers and veterans practice. So, don't forget to add them to your favorite community servers.

Training

Pick which one that ya want.

This gameplay mode is a very simplistic training mode, but be aware that you're the one that's carrying. Since they're training bots and will give an in a nutshell idea of how to play.
