How to play PS2 games on Steam with RetroArch

Instructions on how to play PS2 games on Steam with RetroArch!

Step (1) Download RetroArch - Download Link
Download RetroArch, After You Need To Extract The File AKA Unzip It!
Step (2) Download PCSX2 - Download Link
Download PCSX2, After You Need To Extract The File AKA Unzip It!
Step (3) PS2 BIOS
I CAN NOT GIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO OBTAIN A PS2 BIOS!
Step (4) Open Up RetroArch
Open Up "RetroArch-Win64-setup" Folder And Run RetroArch By Double-Clicking On "retroarch.exe"

After It Opens Look For Main Menu And Click On Online Updater!

Then Update Core Info Files, Assets, Controller Profiles, Cheats, Databases, Overlays, And GLSL Shaders!
Step (5) Core Downloader
Click Core Downloader!

Look For Sony - PlayStation 2 (LRPS2) And Download It After Quit RetroArch!
Step (6) Open Up PCSX2
Open Up "pcsx2-v1.6.0-windows-32bit-portable" Folder And Rename The Folder Called "PCSX2 1.6.0" To "pcsx2"

Open Up The "pcsx2" Folder And Run PCSX2 By Double-Clicking On "pcsx2.exe"

Click Next!

Click Next Again!

Click Finish!

Now Exit Out Of PCSX2!
Step (7) Copy The PS2 Bios Files

Open Up The "ps2_bios" Folder And Copy All The PS2 Bioes Files In Side The Folder!

Now Go Back Into The "pcsx2" folder And Open Up The "bios" Folder And You Need To Paste All The BIOS Files Into That Folder!

Reopen Up The "pcsx2" Folder And Run PCSX2 By Double-Clicking On "pcsx2.exe" Again!

Click Next!

Next Click Overwrite!

Click Next Again!

Now Choose Which Language You Would Like To Use For The BIOS! I Speak English So I will Pick USA! After You Are Done Click Finish!

PCSX2 Will Launch Just Close Out Of It!
Step (8) Copy The PCSX2 Folder
Open Up The "pcsx2-v1.6.0-windows-32bit-portable" Folder And Right Click On The "pcsx2" Folder And Copy It!


Open Up The "RetroArch-Win64-setup" Folder And Then Open The "system" Folder!

Paste The "pcsx2" Folder Into The "system" Folder!
Step (9) Open Up RetroArch Again
Open Up "RetroArch-Win64-setup" Folder And Run RetroArch By Double-Clicking On "retroarch.exe"

Click On Import Content!

Then Click Scan Directory!

After You Get To The Location Where You Have Your ROMS Saved Click "<Scan This Directory>"
Step (10) Click PlayStation 2 In RetroArch
Click PlayStation 2 In RetroArch!

Next Click On The ROM/Game You Like To Play!

Next Click Download Thumbnails!

Next Click Run!

Now Click On "Sony - PlayStation 2 (LRPS2)"

Now Click Run Again! The Game Should Have Open Up Now After The Game Opens You Will Need To Close Out Of The Game/ROM!
*WARNING* If The Games Does Not Open
*WARNING* If The Game Did Not Open Up Make Sure You Have Extracted AKA Unzipped The ROM File Are It Will Not Open/Work!

It Should Not Look Like This If It Does Then It Has Not Been Unzipped!

This Is How It Should Look After It Has Been Unzipped!
Step (11) Copy Everything Inside The "RetroArch-Win64" Folder

Now Copy Everything In The "RetroArch-Win64" Folder! Open Up Your Steam Library Find Your RetroArch Right Click It And Click "Properties" Next Click "Installed Files" After Click "Browse" Now Paste All The Files Into Your RetroArch Folder On Steam!
HAVE FUN!!!
Open Up RetroArch On Steam Now Go Play PS2 Games On Steam With RetroArch!

@kcberry.1994 Tell that to the 12,000 people that had no issues follow instructions if it did not work I wouldn't have such a high rating on the guide clearly you don't know how to follow instructions!

@MrHustler I did not skip any steps. Using PCSX is way easier, and you can sign in to RetroArch. Your instructors are unclear and don't work.

I can't get past step 5. There aren't any PS2 cores in the core downloader. I've deleted and redownloaded RetroArch multiple times. Nothing.

@Ni-K Foul I don't know at this point the best thing I can say is to google are youtube "why is there a black screen when trying to run a ROM on Retroarch through Steam!" It's kind of hard to help you when I never experienced this myself! There can be so many possibilities that's causing this problem!

even if ROM work when i start it directly from pcsx2?
