Introduction
This guide is to help others understand certain Cassette Beasts concepts that may be complicated to understand. This guide is also a continuous work in progress. Information will be added and updated occasionally, as needed.

No information on the Gauntlet of the Sunshine update have been added yet. Will work on this when I get the chance!
Guide content is planned to be further simplified and organized.
More visuals are planned for a later date.

Let me know if you'd like me to cover anything else!
Types
Typeless moves appear in the sticker menu as boxes with circles in them. They will gain the type of the monster they are on. If a Bansheep has a Smack sticker, it will be Beast. If a Carniviper has Smack, it will be Poison.

STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) is applied if the monster uses an attack that is the same type as it, dealing extra damage (x1.2, or 20% damage bonus)

Below you'll find Type Cards; visuals displaying each type!
*Type Card visuals are subject to change.

In-game status descriptions:
Cassette Beasts Status Effects [wiki.cassettebeasts.com]

For "Obtaining" and "Removing," only Passive moves and Items will be labeled with parentheses. Any other case defines what character is affected by a move. Typically, one to two examples will be given.

A Cure-All will remove all status effects (excluding Resurrected), including positive and negative, from an ally character, but uses up your turn.

Miscellaneous Statuses
Miscellaneous statuses are statuses that can either positively or negatively affect characters during battle, given the situation.

Walls
Walls are type orientated. Most of the time, a Wall is obtained by using a type-Wall move and sacrificing some health (20% by default) to avoid taking some hits.

Moves with Ignores Walls attribute, or the Passive Ricochet (chance effect), allow the user to ignore the Wall, as if the Wall wasn't even there. Characters with the Window status condition can be hit with Ranged Attacks through Walls.

Walls can be removed by waiting it out or attacking. They can be instantly removed by using New Leaf, Crumble, a Sticker with Destroys Walls attribute, or a type advantage move.

Each hit subtracts 1 from the current Wall.

Using Remote Play Together can let you play with your friend as if they were in the same room! Remember to set up the streaming settings!

Online Multiplayer

In multiplayer, you can play with up to 8 people (including yourself) and explore New Wirral together! Multiplayer is cross-platform! If you wish to only play with people on your platform, you can turn off cross-play in the Settings.

You can access Online Sessions through the menu in-game.

If you fight Rogue Fusions in multiplayer, you obtain a new type of material, Cyber Material! This can be used to turn a fusion into a bootleg! To fight a rogue fusion with a friend, interact with one and choose a player to invite to challenge the fusion.
DLC & Troubleshooting
Purchased the Cassette Beasts artbook, soundtrack, or paid DLC but can't find it? Encountered an issue? This section is here to help you!

Default Cassette Beasts file location
Windows: C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon
All your Steam games have their files here! Remember, save data (at least for Cassette Beasts) is stored elsewhere!

Saves and Logs
Saves for Cassette Beasts are in a folder that can only be accessed by having show hidden files on.

Windows: C:Users<username>/AppData/Roaming/Cassette Beasts

Your logs are located in the same folder.

Linux: ~/.local/share/CassetteBeasts/

"file1.json.gz.gcpf" would be your first file.
"file1.json.gz.gcpf.tmp" is the automatic backup file; to use it you must remove the "tmp"

Pier of the Unknown
Pier of the Unknown is a paid Cassette Beasts DLC that came out on October 4th, 2023!
It includes a new location, Brightside Pier! You can access it by purchasing it and talking to Clemence in the cafe! Take the boat by the beach and you'll be at the Pier! This will be available after you've met "Triangle Man," also known as Aleph.

To access your new costumes, go to your room above the cafe!

If you bought the DLC but it isn't shown on the bottom left when in the title screen;
Right click Cassette Beasts in your Steam Library->Properties->DLC and make sure Pier of the Unknown's box is checked.

Cosplay Pack
If the Cosplay Pack is installed, in the bottom left side of the title screen it will show if it is installed.

Included in the Cosplay Pack are:
  • Bansheep Hat (Hair Style)
  • Candevil Hat (Hair Style)
  • Traffikrab Hat (Hair Style)
  • Springheel Hat (Hair Style)
  • Pombomb Poncho (Top)
  • Pombomb Shorts (Bottom)

Artbook
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cassette Beasts

Alternatively, you can instantly pull up the files
Right Click game in Steam Library->Properties->Installed Files->Browse

Soundtrack
The soundtrack files come in MP3 and FLAC format.
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\music

To find the soundtrack in your library, make sure the tab at the top above your games has Soundtracks check-marked!

You can also access the soundtrack from viewing Cassette Beasts in your library! If you scroll down a little, it will be under Additional Content.

Troubleshooting Methods

Verifying Files
This is one of the first things you should do when you encounter an issue!
It might be a good idea to back up your save file as mentioned above. You never know if something might go wrong, and it's better to be safe than sorry!

Navigate to your Steam Library. Then, right click the game and click Properties. Then, click Installed Files. Press the button that says "Verify integrity of game files."
How to Verify File Integrity

Anti-virus
Sometimes, antivirus software will detect a false-positive (meaning the software thinks it's malicious, even though it is not) which may prevent the game from running, as it may remove the executable (.exe) required to run the game. To prevent the antivirus from doing this again in the future, you can add the game as an exception. Adding exceptions to antivirus software is different for each software.

If what you're looking for isn't listed here, try checking this out: Troubleshooting [wiki.cassettebeasts.com]
If your issue still wasn't solved, consider joining the Bytten Studio Discord from the store page and asking there. If you're reporting an issue or bug, remember to read the top post in the support thread before making a report!
