Chapter 1 - Brushes

Deleted Brushes?

If Fire Alpaca keeps deleting your custom made brushes and the brushes that ya downloading, merely resetting to the default. Just open FireAlpaca and click on Open Config Folder. Once the file manager opens, scroll and find the config.ini, find the modified date. Your brushes should be there.

Try to find which drive your config files are being save, like hard drive, external drive and even cloud account (like OneDrive,etc.).

There's also the fact that ya probably didn't updated and/or allowed the update to run/complete itself.

Reinstalling FA

This method is mainly for the free version.

Save your brushes, before doing a reinstall. Because, as long as stuff doesn't get deleted from the Config Folders or changed when doing an update.

Can't Add New Brushes

When ya can't add either your brushes after reinstalling FA. Just go to the Help menu, then initialize the settings and click on Restore Preset Brushes. It's because, it will just keep your folders, ya need to place them to the correct folders.

Chapter 2 - Colors

Switching

If the color switching doesn't switch to swatch two or swatch one, this bug sometimes happens when sites and maybe software, like Steam or Discord, are left running in the background. Just open the Task Manager and turn off those. If that doesn't work, just report it to PGN Inc. (I made a huge chapter with their report button earlier).

Chapter 3 - Pens

100% Pen Width

If the brushes are stuck at a weird width, no matter what you do. Just either check the pen/tablet settings, it's probably a tablet issue or sit tight and wait for Fire Alpaca to fix itself up.

Eyedropper Tool

If the Eyedropper Tool (any of the drawing tools) doesn't work,just reinstall the tablet's drivers or just close the program, shut down the computer and then turning them back on.

Chapter 4 - Layers

If the normal layers' properties inside the folder don't work, just set the folder's layering to Pass Through instead of using the normal method.

Chapter 5 - Tools

Transformation Not Working

When the lassoing an object, pressing the ctrl+t to use the transformation tool to rote/resize the item doesn't work. To deal with this issue, just either go back to the previous version or upgrade to the newest version (This is an bug that pops out at the outset). If things get bad just sit back to wait for things to sort it out or send in a report.

Chapter 6 - Fire Alpaca In General

Crashing

If the software crashes and closes midway of drawing, no matter what ya do. Some of the crashes are the result of the image sizes are being way too big, when the default is the 52" x 72" photo measurements. Just downscale the image sizes to a smaller, so, go to Canvas and shrink things. If that doesn't work, just restart a new project with the non-glitchy size. If it comes to that.

"Unable To Choose Other Tools"

One of the glitches is when the tools become unresponsive. There's another method to get them, go to Deselect, then click on the desired too.

If those don't work, try uninstalling/reinstalling.

No Zoom/Out

Suppose Fire Alpaca's zoom doesn't work, try either reverting back/downloading the previous versions, messing with the pen pressure, check the environment settings, or switch to the very latest update/version. That should fix the zoom in/zoom out.

Chapter 7 - The Official Free Version In General

Stopped Working

After logging in back in for your next drawing sessions and continuing projects, ya discovered that it's a tiny white square and an error popped out saying "Fire Alpaca has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution", then closes. This has a higher chance of occurring with the free version.

So, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Don't worry about your projects, they're saved as files and will still be there.

Whitening the Dropper

To fix the brush getting the canvas's color, it's probably a driver issue. So, just go to File, then stylus pressure API (as long as its up-to-date). Take notes of which one is selected, change it and then restart FA.

Note: Fire Alpaca is just as driver-sensitive as a drawing tablet. So, just to see if you're using the latest updated software. (This is mainly an "official free version" issue, so update that baby (and your tablet as well).

Chapter 8 - Projects

Gif - White Screen Of Death Lite

When trying to make a gif, but it turns out as white. Just try changing the size, since that file that you have is probably too big. Try to do everything to make the gif smaller, like merging a ton of layers just to minimizing color.

Note: FA gifs don't exactly support transparency. In some cases, you're better off using a different program or a site that specializes with gifs.

Life Hack Chapter 1

Backing Up

It's a good idea to save your custom made and store "bought" brushes, so, ya can recover just in case that Fire Alpaca acts crazy.

Go to Help, click on Open Config Folder, copy everything in the folder and save it on a new folder, USB stick/flashdrive or the cloud.

To restore 'em, return to the config folder, then close Fire Alpaca. Copy all the files from your backup and paste them into the Config Folder. Restart Fire Alpaca again and begin drawing.

But make sure, you delete stuff inside the Resources Folder (Don't delete the folder itself, just the insides). Then bring everything from your USB/saved space and paste it into the blank folder. Lastly, restart FA and your old art settings will be there.
