this reduces it from 9, to two sets of 3, and the further you get, the more opportunity you have for this. you can increase the odds by restricting spells you don't like.
as for the amount, you have 2 ways, the nova spell or whatever where it costs a LOT more, but will basically x20 a spell. and then using the grims, which can cast the spell and have separate summon counts than the player as each Grim is it's own "player", just like the wands I believe.

when we get stage 4 though this may open up more, as the wands have a lot more capacity and regen, with a lot of gimmicks so may be easier to stick some batteries on a high capacity wand to make this more viable. but it's definitely something i'm looking forward to working on.
