Pretty simple. Cleo has 40 Hull and 10 Shield. Cleo's cannon attacks deal a total of 42 damage on the first turn. Bring Peri and Max, and focus on getting a Parry card.

Your two artifacts to find are Piercer and Lightspeed Boot Disk. Keep in mind that the Boot Disk is a boss artifact, specific to Max. Apply the Buoyant effect from the Boot Disk artifact onto Parry.

Going into the Cleo fight, you will top-deck Parry, and one-shot Cleo with a piercing Parry.

Neither artifact is completely necessary because of how much Parry will carry the fight, but having all of these will guarantee a kill.

Riggs' Think Twice card, or Max's Math-Max card may also greatly help you draw Parry without Boot Disk, just be prepared for bad luck. The earlier you can get it, the better, as they will eventually switch to firing a total of 11 seeker missiles at once, making any stalling extremely difficult.

In addition to an achievement, you will receive an energy-boosting artifact for your current loop, at the cost of the shopkeeper's life.

Thank you for the guide! I managed to do it without Max (despite my name I know it's horrifying).

Mostly it was trying to hold on while waiting for one of the two Parry cards in my deck to show up and just stunning Cleo, using shield cards, and panicking. But I did it!

Now I just need to apologise to Cleo.

I didn't get a chance to try it on Cleo, but I did have a run where I fought the Cobalt with Root Access B (Max), Perpetual Motion Device (Riggs), and Aggressive Armoring (Drake) for infinite shots. It would also work with any other zero-cost attack that doesn't exhaust.

Was running Riggs and Max with Peri with the hopes of finding a Parry. Instead, I got a Lightspeed Boot Disc which I tossed onto Selective Memory which I would use on Ace + Admin Deploy B which I would also Cloudsave the Ace back to be able to get 2 evade a turn, on top of running just draw/evasive/multishots to rack of extra evades from Crossfade, along with 3 stacks from Endless Magazine B to just get as much evade as possible.

And it managed to work, with the Chip Shots and Chaff, the seeker missile wave was the least threatening portion after the very first round, which I was blessed to have had drawn an Enrage card to just shut them down long enough to get all the required buffs going, along with the perpetual motion machine and an Inverter to turn the low-damage shots into 5 damage blasts every time.

Worth mentioning so that no one else has to look it up that the Parry card is rare.

Exactly how I did it. Worth noting that you can substitute piercer by using Ares and getting its upgrade artifact, plus using rigs's cards like think twice, or the one to pull a card from the deck, to increase chances

if you go to the shop after killing the keeper CAT dialogue reveals Cleo is a woman, not a femboy space cat.

0/10, refunding rn.

Beat it earlier today by stacking full ship stun cards and redirecting the missiles with that one artifact while having the one that makes ones far away not see you. My main damage sources were a Charge-beam B and Dice Roll A. The rest of the deck was basically just draw cards.

Dang. Its hard to get even 1 of those artifacts or parry, let alone all three in one run.

This is interesting but I'll never get that achievement.

I didn't have piercer or upgraded parry, but I did have cloud save and second opinions B. This let me keep pulling parry back into my hand after exhausting it. It's funny cause I wasn't even thinking about fighting Cleo until I just happened to have the right pieces with a randomly generated party that matched the recommended one here.
