How To Host Your Private Server

This method is safe and doesn't require you to change your files, it doesn't mods the game, it doesn't change anything on game's files, it simply hosts a private server, you won't get banned and no one except the ones you gave the username and password of the server will be able to join you, yes, even the cheater players won't be able to join you.

To make this work the game has to be not running

Download Red Dead Online lobby manager[www.nexusmods.com] from Nexusmods
I recommend you put the lobby manager where your game is installed to so that it's easier to remember and access
Open the file and click on Change RDR2 Directory, then choose the place where your game is installed
Choose a lobby name for yourself and a lobby code, click on Create New Lobby then click on Use

Now you can launch your game and you will be in a private server of your own
To make your friends be able to join you they will also have to download and follow the same steps


  • You don't have to keep the program running while the game is running
  • You do have to restart the game for every lobby change you make to take effect
  • You can adjust the lobby number to create a more unique lobby
  • You need to have the exact same lobby names and numbers as your friend's lobby to join your friend's lobby

Apologies for the late reply, the story mode has lots of content, even though they could add a lot of weapons and other things to online unfortunately they seem to be focusing on GTA Online more than RDO, have fun with the story mode :SakuraiEmi_ordinary:

Thanks for the reply. I bought rdo played for 1.5 hours then i realized it was not gonna worth my time so i returned the game. Still having fun in story mode though.

I don't use mods, i'm not sure if it would crash with the mods in a solo lobby

If anyone is lurking around these posts, I just want to confirm that I use this to essentially play RDO as a single-player game and it works perfectly.
