Hi. Here are templates for the tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard and others such as the black panther or the white tiger to help you in your creative process. Just pick whichever big cat you want your beastren character to have the same coat as and enter the same values as shown, and here you go.

Note that I didn't mention the jaguar nor did I include a template for its coat as it would basically be the same as for the leopard's in the game.

The tiger being the first one, it will contain more of these than the others, but what you'll read in this template applies to whatever your choice of coat will be.)

One tip (of the ear) here : you might want to choose your hairstyle in relation to your choice of ears for your beastren, and vice versa, and then adjust them so that there is minimal clipping between them (if you don't know what clipping is, it's okay, in this case it would be a bunch of hair strands going through the ears 3D models). On this character I bent /tilted the ears backwards into the hairstyle and brought them inward. Another thing also for a beastren using the Type 2 fur length is you might want to prefer using hairstyles that hide well the scalp underneath, as choosing shorter hairstyles might make it so that your choice of hair color will clash with the fur colors and pattern and the fur could also be visible in the gaps in between the hair (kind of the same for Type 1 but more forgiving and more suited for shorter hair).


For the beard styles you may not want to use the same root color as the hairstyle's since the fur will be clearer starting from the chin /whiskers, so maybe go for a white /bright beige for example here for it to blend in nicely with the fur, and then color the tip however you feel like.






Here is an example of what you could go for if you wanted your beastren to have one additionnal characteristic less in line with their real life counterpart (besides already being humanoid). Having the eyes squinted like that for example gives off a sense of slyness, seeing through the intentions of others, kind of mercenary-type, and on top of it the vertical slit pupils isn't what you would see on a big cat but if you don't want to go scientific on it, it gives to your character an always calculating look.


Now if you want to go a bit scientific on it though, there's a reason why cats have vertical slit pupils while big cats have round pupils : Vertical slit pupils are sported by animals that are ambush predators hunting close to the ground. So that can be cats as it can be crocodiles, vipers, etc. A set of vertical slit pupils is able to let in more light which has to do with hunting at night and low visibility conditions. Round pupils on the other hand are sported by big cats because of their height and because they are not specialized in lying in wait to then leap out to kill, they actively chase their prey and the round pupils provide them with a good binocular vision for judging distances.

Note that I'm giving you those pieces of information as it could help you define your character's concept besides it being some interesting bits of trivia on Panthera anatomy. When it comes to the pupils in that case an archer beastren would benefit from round ones. A Thief would on the other hand from vertical slit pupils, and so on.

Now, here is how you'd want to go about it if you wanted your big ol boy /girl to sport a set of ever watchful binocular eyes : You'd want to start by cranking down the Squint (Left Eye) and Squint (Right Eye) sliders to whatever value close to 0 that looks good to you given your character's facial structure (again, you could leave the pupils alone, if that is your preference).


Then what you want to do is go to Makeup > Eyes and change Eye Style to Type 1 and /or lower the Pupil Size slider to -100.

Interesting fact about the color of a lion's mane is that testosterone levels were found to be higher in males with darker manes, which could actually be a signal of increased fighting ability to other males who would want to challenge a darker maned lion on his own territory.


As stated before, choose whatever hairstyle you'd prefer, just remember that short hairs work better with Type 1 fur which the lion here has. Here is one of the more notable choices for male as a short hairstyle in my opinion, with the same color scheme.


Required as that coat pattern doesn't have a spot of fur on the chin that gets colored along with the belly's fur as an actual lion would have.

For the white morph you don't need to use the chin tattoos from the regular lion template otherwise here are the options that differ from the default. Also notice the eye color don't change either, contrary to the white tiger's albinism (above). Here the white coat comes from the lion having what is called leucism.

Alright, as mentionned in the intro : the only way, if you're really a fan of them, that you could make your beastren 'look more' like a jaguar rather than a leopard would be to play around with the face sliders (the head size for example, greatest recorded skull length being 204 to 302 mm compared to the leopard's which is 170 to 200 mm). But, even then the coat would have to be different. The only rosettes dotted coat that we have access to in this CC, although maybe not busy enough, is one of a leopard. We'd need to have another choice of rosettes dotted fur pattern with distinct internal spots. You could try to make it work if you really wanted to, I'm not going to say you shouldn't, but I'd still settle for the leopard's concept of character, as it still would be either a leopard's or a snow leopard's coat.

The eyes don't change from the default leopard's. It's a melanistic colour variant, so the eyes aren't affected, just the same as for the white lion morph.

There are a few differences in the picture below compared to the male counterpart : The tiger male has the #5 Face Pattern, while the the female has the #4. The male has the Eye Pattern #7, the female the #5. The male has the Cheek Pattern #5, the female has it set to blank. The Eye Pattern Opacity for the male is at 77, while the female has it set to 50.

All the differences in these Face sliders are there to make the female face look less busy /intimidating. As a rule I would do the same for the rest of the coats, but it's up to you. Imo the female beastren looks better if the face is cleared up, showing more of the base colors of the fur.


Lastly, you could, with the same idea in mind, make the nose a bit brighter and saturated. You'd keep the same color, and take the Sheen and Opacity values of the male nose and consider them as the starting minimum values for the female face and try and play around with them and the saturation (with no restriction). Here I set the Sheen and Opacity to 100, which makes the nose look softer, whereas on the male tiger those sliders are set respectively at 75 and 61.
