Servers & Worlds
Servers:

What are Servers?: Think of each and individual server as separate player host running their own copy of a game somewhere in the world. Joining a server will let you join the host's session, with it's own server location, it's own game progression, and it's own events running in it. Lets take PVE01-00074 and PVE01-00075 as an example, because these are official servers (meaning they are probably approved/provided by the people who made the game), they might be in the same location, on the same server rack, sitting right next to each other. But they both have their own data on players and player-built bases. They don't share data because they are two separate machines running their own sessions.

What do these servers mean to the players?: Choosing a server and entering the game will start you off to the character creation and tutorial. But before you do that, there's a few things you need to know. First off, you can't transfer character data or progression to other servers until the end of the season, servers tend to fill up quickly, which leads to servers becoming too full for new players to join. You want to organize a time with all of your friends to hop on and choose a server together. otherwise, they may not be able to join your server later on

Multi-server purchases: Besides character data unable to transfer to other servers, purchases/cosmetics might be the only thing that can be shared between more than one server. if you're interested about the official information, please see the two links below

Server Resets: Furthermore, every server will probably reset character data at the end of every season, but you will keep important currencies, Gear blueprints, blueprints fragments weapon accessories, mods, all paid and free cosmetics, house blueprints (high level materials will be replaces with low level materials), main and side story progression, friends list. You can carry some of the common materials. But your player level and map progression will reset, here's something I'm quoting from one of the official posts:

"(3) In the new season, your character will be reset to Lv.1, and the exploration progress of the World Map will be reset as well. This ensures all players start the new season on an equal footing and can enjoy playing together. New scenario types often offer different map designs, providing new exploration experience and rewards. Each season server will also offer new season challenges to earn new rewards."

Worlds

In short: Think of worlds as sub-servers in servers, They're almost like parallel dimensions in a single server session.

You can't see other players (and their bases) who are in a different worlds than you, but you can weirdly see you friends and teams on the maps who are from other worlds. You're able to friend and join hives from different worlds, chat with players from other worlds, and transfer your character to any world, your almost like playing in the same session, but just invisible in another identical place. Each server host has several worlds inside each game session. How i look at it; It just seems like something that allows players to have more space options to build. If your favorite building spot in world 3 is taken, see if it's taken in world 4.

You can change your world by walking up to one of the Teleportation Towers, and press "G" key (selecting "Switch to another World" option) on it.

Map and Navigation
Navigation

Solid lines: path on road
Dotted lines: path off road

You can have up to 3 Routes going at the same time:

Task Routes: Navigation routes leading to a Main Story mission is an Orange color, While routes that lead up to World Tasks (side missions) are blue. You can have only one route leading up to task, you can either have the blue or the orange, you can't have both. (there's a work around which I will cover next)

Landmark routes: Right clicking over a town, teleportation towers or any other landmarks will result in a Green route. You can use the landmark route to track the location of your tasks.

Coordinate routes: Right clicking on open spavce (not hovering over any objective/landmark) will result in a white route.

There are three different ways to navigate your self.

You can either navigate via the map and memorize the path as a whole.

You can follow the path on the map that is located at the upper right corner of the screen.

Or you can just follow the pings via on-screen display.

How to Build & Play with your Friends
Introduction

At the moment (or at least for early game) there is not really a way to make a separate territory for your hive/friends besides using your own personal territories and giving permission to your friends to access it. You can still have a base for everyone to manage, build, and live together, but there are some specific facilities/items that only the owner of the territory can manage.

Alternately: you and your friends can snap the borders of all of your territories together and help each other out to build and construct each of your individual bases.

Here are some things you'll need A trustworthy leader/friend to set up a hive (who can also >), a trustworthy friend/Leader willing to give up (share) their territory for everyone to share, an empty/ideal spot perfect for your hive to grow and expand, lots of wood, and lots of gravel.

Separate note: it seems like there used to be hive terminal, but it was removed. Making us to resort to creating hive bases via personal bases. (source)

Blueprints: It's a handy tool, make sure you save your base to a blueprint to save your trouble later on!

Let's get started!

Setting up the Hive

(Make sure you and your friends have joined the same server, see "Servers > Worlds > Maps" section/content above)

First: Let's create the Hive, you can do this by pressing "U" key on the keyboard to open the team menu. Then hover over to the Hive tab at the top and click on it, then go ahead and create your Hive.

Once created, go ahead and invite your friends to the Hive. I personally like to invite my friends via the hive chat. You can do this by hitting the big recruitment button (a pop up should appear) and hit the button that looks like a paper plane icon.

Go ahead and close out of the hive interface and hit enter, by default you should be stuck in the world chat (which is where the ad for your Hive is NOT located). Navigate you chat to "GENERAL" or "HIVE". it should be there, go ahead and let your friends click on the link to your hive and let them apply to join.

Go back to the "Hive" tab, on go ahead and click on the "Requests" button, and wait for your friends to apply to the Hive.

Build Permissions

Now, you guys might be in the same Hive, but you guys can't build off of each others property yet. Not until you guys give each other building and access permission, which also requires you guys to friend each other before you guys can give each other permissions.

Let's start friending each other! Let's begin by clicking on the player (in the hive tab) you want to give building and accessing permission to. Go ahead and hit the "add friends" button, the other player will receive a pop-up to accept or decline the friend request, make sure that friend accepts or selects "yes".

Now, go ahead and select that newly acquired friend and expand the Friend Permission drop down menu, and make sure that Accesss to facilities, building, and storage are all enabled. Building and Storage is turned off by default, you will have to enable these permission for every (new) friend.

There you go, you should be able to build your Friends!

How to Build

All is left is to find an empty spot for your territory, go ahead and take some time to find a good spot.

Once you find an empty spot of land, you can finally place your territory. Go ahead and press the "B" key (on the keyboard) to enter build mode, you should be prompt with red or green (transparent structures):

Red means you can't build there: Trees, rocks, ores and other harvest-able resources are blocking your build path, or it could mean that you're trying to build in a forbidden spot in town/loot areas (you can't build in towns).

Green means go :)

Once you got your base lit up green, go ahead and left click (on your mouse).

Build Menu: Right clicking (on your mouse) while your in build mode should pop up a build menu that shows foundation, structures, facilities and etc.

Blueprint your base: Get into build mode, then open the build menu. There should be a tab called "House Blueprint" on the top right of the build menu. Enter "House Blueprint" tab and click on "Add Blueprint". You can choose to save the whole territory ("Save All") or a section of the base ("Save Single Building"). Next, a "Save House Blueprint" should pop-up. Give it a name, tag, and/or note (if you want to) and hit "Confirm" ("F" key). Your house should be among the "House Blueprint" > "Draft"

Relocating your territory: (Possibly bugged at the moment) You should save your house in the blueprint first before you relocate, I've heard there has been a bug where relocating your base may possibly delete your base. Once you're ready (and you understand the risks), enter build mode and press the "Z" key and relocate your territory to any open space you'd like to occupy.

Wrap Up

If all of your friends are in the hive (that you trust) and everyone have followed these steps for each and every person in the hive. Then everyone should be able to build and use each other bases at any time.

Forming a hive with your friends allows you to teleport to their territories. If your not in the same world as your friends, then their home icons will display a grey color. If you are in the same world as them, then it's going to display an orange-brown-ish color.

Friending your teammates and giving them permission allows them to build and use your base to it's fullest whenever and wherever!

PS: Quick thing about building quests, the first ever mission (after you leave the starting area and glide down to the real world with V) should be finding a place and building your territory, But after that, you might be able to get way with building on your friends territory to complete some of the construction quests.

Season settlements (Registration 2.0) (WIP)
Registration 2.0

the new registration 2.0 make the server and registration complex and hard for new players to understand, they even put a "tutorial video" button (located in the "Sign up for a new season" > "Squad" tab) explain the registration 2.0 and the ability to transfer and sign up to other servers

Every server has different ending times for their season (Settlement Season). At the end of the settlement season, your character will be waiting for you in the main menu, where you can select and hop into the season/server registration phase. Once you load up into your own personal world, press Esc and select "Select a new Season Scenario". Here you can sign up your character to a season and a server of your choosing with your friends or alone (as if your creating a character from scratch)

- if you find yourself and your friends located in separate servers, I believe you can have them join you via the new server invitation (correct me if I'm wrong, this is new to me)

- Every server has different opening times (server entry), which means that every starts and ends at different time.

- You can choose a server by your self or with a team. joining a team will require for you to "enter a Squad ID" (at last, you can join a server with your bros via the team/squad registration!)

After choosing sign up options, it will show that you're registered, if you're ready, go ahead and enter, otherwise you can unregistered
