Tornado Chasing and Predicting Guide
Tekijältä Nicki2107
Hey Guys,

I decided to make this guide, because I saw a discussion saying the tutorial wasn't that good. To be honest I didn't really watch the tutorial but anyway I will just continue with this guide for now. If it helps you can leave a like, if not that's okay. Just have fun reading this and maybe playing after it ;D

Reflectivity
Now I will head on to the reflectivity

The reflectivity shows, how much rain there is falling down or how strong the storm is. A radar is sending signals through the air. The signals get reflected by, rain, snow and hail. If there are many signals coming back it indicates that there is strong wind or hail. Purple on the map indicates a strong signal(mostly hail), green a small.

(Didn't see the discord link, sorry!)

Velocity
In this part of the Guide I will discribe how the velocity works.

Below this you can see a picture of an velocity map.
You can see a red and a green color on the radar picture.
The green is moving towards the radar, the red away from it.
If both are Mixing there is a form of rotation, with other words if theres red in green or green in red theres rotation there.

On the left side you can see that red part in the green. There could possibly spawn a tornado (it spawned one)
Surface Map
Lets head on to the surface map for now

The dew point and the temperature are important for storms and rain to develop.
If the dewpoints is above 20° C and the temperature is high too, there is a higher chance for storms to form. If the there is a small difference between the dew point and the temperature, that's indicating that it could rain at that point.

(Picture follows)
Mlccape
Now I will move on to the MLCCape you can read, after you clicked Q.

The Mlccape shows the energy there is to form a possible (thunder)storm or even a tornado or other natural phenomen that is related with storms.

(Picture will follow)

The more energy there is, the higher is the chance there will be a big storm.

It goes from blue to white. White means theres very much energy to develop a thunderstorm, and if I say it, I mean it.
Blue means there could be storm but that storm would most likely dont produce a big storm.
The higher the energy, the higher is the chance on tornados and most likely stronger tornados.

Light blue is = 1000 J/kg = Developing storm
Green = 2000 J/kg = strong atmosperic energy (maybe there is already a storm)
Everything behind that is possibly a strong storm.
250MB,500MB,850MB
I will now explain what the MB sites show you

Here you can see 250MB This one indicates a pretty low pressure in the air.

On this picture you can see a not low, but also not high pressure.

Here you can see a very high pressure in the air.

One Example: On the picture of the 250 MB you see the light green part directly at the tornado. That indicates that the air pressure there, isn't really high. On the picture of 850MB you can see a hole at the point where the 250 MB light green part was. That means that the surrounding got a way higher pressure than that part. Meteorologist use MB's to see, if theres an pretty rapid fall down on the air pressure in a high pressure area. It's called a low pressure area, if there is low pressure surrounded by high pressure. The lower the pressure in an area surrounded by high pressure, the higher is the chance of bigger storms.

Conclusion of the 250MB to 850MB :

If you look at the MB pictures, at the point where you see a pretty low pressure in between a pretty high one, it indicates that there could be tornadic activity, because a tornado often spawns/appears, where the pressure is falling rapidly low in a high pressure surrounding area.
Conclusion and Probe Placement
Conclusion

So I went through everything that is important to chase and predict storms.
If something isn't clear ask me or somebody else in the comment section.
Thank you very much for reading my guide.
I only made this to clear things up and to have everybody having fun in this game ;D

Probe Placement

The placement of the probe isn't predictable, you can't see the exact movement of the tornado on the map, but you can look at the reports you and your teammates sent to look at the direction the tornado going(There are direction changes). Mostly it's just luck and if you chased some storms you will find out how it works :D
Just never forget that the game should make fun and isn't only about grinding.
The only thing you should remind : Never take to long to place the probe, you need a small timezone from 10-20 seconds to drive away or run away. If you wait until the last second you will "turn into a helicopter".
Probe placement just requires some practise but you will get better and better at it.
Just remember, If you want to make points, don't drive inside Tornados, If not than, well, do if.

Now thank you for reading, have fun playing and never stop chasing!

Would a Asus Rog Ally run outbrk

Yeah, because that point can decide the tornados speed/strenght. (Note : Strenght not only through low pressure though)

Thanks!! This was very helpful. though worth noting, the 500MB also decides the speeds of a tornado moving. The more dark red it is, how faster the tornado goes.

Okay, thank you!

The mobile weather station as far as I know only measures wind speeds. With the hammerhead.... I'm still unsure. Looks cool but didn't buy it yet due to already having a better car. But I think it might be worth getting if you do not already have a better one.

What does the mobile weather station do,and is the hammerhead worth getting?

You mean how to open the map? I think with "M".
