INTRODUCTION
Hi there everyone! This is my first time making a full guide for a game, so my bad if the formatting here is a little scuffed.

Let me know if you have any questions, corrections, etc., thanks for reading!

Credits for the icon for the guide is @lolotte.bsky.social on Bluesky, @Lolotte_C on vgen.
THE BLACKENED POND
After the initial cutscene upon starting a new save file, you will be introduced to The Blackened Pond. YOU are a nameless vessel, for now. Feel free to save your game. Keep in mind that at any time you can check the pause menu for hints of where to go as well.

- Talk to the giant baby head in the back there. This will give your first FIELD CARD. Field cards are puzzle pieces to be used throughout this sections with this NAMELESS CHILD. You will trade them for different cards, each with different uses. All Nameless Child sections will have these, and you can see which you have in the top right corner of your screen at any time. Pausing the game and opening the cards icon will give you a brief description of any field cards you currently have on you.
- Go to the gate on the opposite side. With your field card, the gate shall now automatically open up. From here, you are greeted by a four different ways to go from here, including going back. Go to the right from here.
- Speak with the orange man at the end of the path. He tells you to Bathe in fire, and by god that is what you need to do right about now. This removes your first field card, the Heart card.
Now, speak with the orange man once more. He tells you to “Ascend the mountain to receive your name”. A jump pad to your right opens up, just follow the linear path from here.

- At the end of the path, you will speak to a mysterious angel figure. They look familiar…
- The angel gives you a new FIELD CARD, your NAME. Your sense of self. Head back down the mountain from here. Once you return to the crossroads, head south. The yellow man tells you to seek out the Good Brother.
- Going further down from here, you will have two paths, one to the left, leading towards a blonde haired man, and one towards the right. This bizarre Golden Alpaca in the way warns against traveling “behind the rock” for now, so let’s go towards the blonde haired man instead for now.
- During the cutscene, you seemed to have stepped on cat ♥♥♥♥. This gives you the FIELD CARD of Squeaky Shoes, which makes your footsteps have a silly noise. Follow the Good Brother.

- Seems like the Handsome Krow at the end of this path doesn’t want you here. Go back to the other path. Feel free to save along the way.
- Go against the warnings of the Golden Alpaca, and head behind the rock.

- William here trades in your Name FIELD CARD in exchange for an Invitation FIELD CARD. Leave William’s room, then go back towards the Nameless Krow.
- The Krow moves aside, giving you access to three iron maidens. The first (going left to right) notes to, “Seek that which belongs to you.”, the second notes to, “Find the Self, the Sun, and the Holy Thief.” and last transports you to a new area.
- Speak to the Krow on the TV. This is the replacement for the old introduction to YIIK, where all of these questions would be front-loaded at the beginning of the game. Now, they are spread through a little better. You can disable player consequences here, which changes the outcome of one scene later on in the game depending on your actions. Put in your name from here.
CHAPTER 1: A WILD CAT CHASE
- After the initial cutscenes, you are now in control of Alex Eggleston. Feel free to save.
- Head home, back to your family home. It’s the one with the big Welcome Home sign in the front.
- Upon entering home, read the Letter from Mom.
- Before you leave, there is a few things you can grab in home. On the bookshelf right behind you, there is a Collectable Pog. The first of many. Go to the kitchen to the right from here, and grab the medkit, refilling you on many healing items that will help you in combat. Go upstairs, admiring all the pictures on the walls throughout (As a side note, all of this pictures were taken by a family member of the Allanson brothers. This family member is also the basis for Michael.). Go in the first open room, the one with the pink bed, this is your mother’s room, and feel free to steal $20 from the drawer on the right. The room on the far right is your own room. The chest on the far right of your room is where spare items go. You can only hold 10 of the same item at a time, so any extras go to this chest. Keep this in mind for the future, as you are sure to cap on various items from enemies drops, and this chest is the best way to refill on said items.
- Head towards the exit of your home from here –
- Seems someone is calling. Pick up the phone, then leave your home and head east. Right outside of your home now is a npc by the name of Matt Hawkins. You can give him up to $10, which starts a side quest line for later and gets you a sticker. Open up any trashcans you see along the way for good healing items and money like the hobo you are.
- You aren’t required to immediately go east from here, that being said, you can explore Frankton a bit here before heading towards town, or even go far west to enter the world map a bit early, though this is not recommended.
- If you do decide to go west, don’t enter either of the monster dens just yet. You haven’t even done the first proper battle tutorial yet! You can, however, enter into South Town, which lets you grab a few more trash can items and even a shop early. There is very little to do in South Town other than this shop and extra healing items for now.
- Right next to South Town, there is the Forest Meadow. You can’t access a majority of the Forest Meadow for a while, but there is a chest in here that gives you one of the best healing items in the game, an Ambrosia, which fully heals one party member and maxes out the party’s PP meter.
- Now that you have gotten your optional exploring out of the way, head east toward town for real this time.
- During Alex’s monologue about this bizarre cat, the cat grabs your mom’s grocery list! However, there are no invisible walls or anything from here, you can in fact still go east toward town to look through the various shops, and even be able to leave Frankton, though this is somewhat not intentional. There isn’t much to do here, and you can’t even gather enough money to go back to the record store and get an upgrade, either, so enough stalling, go into the forest!
WINDY FIELD
- Chase after that cat!
- Battle tutorial time. This battle system is fairly unique, so pay attention!
- A quick thing I want to note that I don’t think the tutorial explains too well is that different attacks have different speeds. Normal attacks, for instance, are nearly instant, and will move the actor to the end of the ACT timeline very quickly, often times letting them get their hit in before the enemy. Knowing the speeds of attacks and how they come out can be a good way to kill enemies before they hit you, or in the case of some abilities, even straight up dodge enemy attacks. KARTA usage will always be a normal speed ability, meaning the actor will go through the timeline at a normal pace. In my opinion, I don’t think using Karta for their offensive powers is usually ever worth it outside of some niche use cases, but feel free to experiment. This system loves experimentation from the player and rewards it nicely, but just keep in mind the defense and stat increases that come from Karta usually mean it is more worth it to have them around than not. This goes for both you and the enemy. Also, this is why abilities that target multiple Karta rows on an enemy, like Alex’s LP Toss, are very powerful.
- Defending is the slowest action in the game, also.
- At the end of the tutorial, there is a somewhat difficult battle that you are likely not going to win. The best way to defeat this foe is item spam where possible, but don’t use too much, you won’t have many spots to refill in the upcoming area, and it is isn’t necessary to defeat this guy.
- Another thing to keep in mind for battles is items are something the game is functionally built around, especially later on. There are no rez items, but powerful healing items aren’t hard to come by, and are usually cheap, too, even aoe heals. Healing items will often even restore your PP too, really making things even easier. Feel free to use and abuse healing items where necessary, the game will demand it much later on, so when you are in pickle, don’t feel bad about using a powerful healing item, as again, they aren’t hard to come by.
- Two items to keep in mind throughout the game are bandages and gauze bandages. Bandages fill one empty slot with a bandage karta, giving you a bit of defense, and gauze bandages fill all empty slots. These items are very powerful, and aren’t hard to come by, so keep them in mind throughout the game.
- After the battle tutorial is complete, head east, going deeper into the forest.
FACTORY HOTEL
- The cat has seemed to go deep into this bizarre building.
- Outside the building, there are a few chests and trash cans, including one that has an Ambrosia. One of the trash cans, to the far left of the ghost girl, has a Collectable Pog.
- Feel free to save outside the building here. There are a few random encounters with weak enemies here. You can dodge most of these, or take them out for healing items and money.
- Head up the ladder to the right, going into the window where the cat resides.
- Go through this linear path, jumping through the tower.
- Follow the cat up the elevator, and you can heal yourself using the sink next to it if you have taken any damage from the random encounters.
- Seems like the power has gone out. Head south from here, picking up the Dungeon Key.
- Head back up and to the left, going towards this locked door.
- Open the door up with the dungeon key. Inside, there is Panda. Along with being your first tool to use for puzzles throughout the world, you can also use him in battle. Panda Barrier is a very powerful defensive ability that can block off all sorts of damage, at the cost of 10 PP, which currently is all you have.
- There are a few items in here to collect from the trash can. Once done, leave the room.
- Go north from here.
- There are two switches here, put Panda on one, and step on the other.
- This opens up the door here.
- Do the same for the next two switches here.
- Going up the ladders, put Panda on the switch that has a hand pointing on it.
- Then, go to the platform on the right, and remove panda, unlocking the path forward.
- Go to the door, open it, and then you’ll be teleported upward.
- Then, drop Panda on the switch below.
- Follow the path forward from here. Sprint jump (if on an xbox controller, hold X to sprint) to jump past small gaps like this.
- Speak to the red glowing woman. Hop across to the trash can to the right before opening the door here.
- Go into the door, and climb the ladder.
- The elevator now has power. Feel free to save. Go up the elevator from here. There is a place to heal here, so also feel free to kill the enemies here for XP, money, and items.
- The chest to the left here has a new weapon for Alex, make sure to equip it, it is a noticeable stat increase this early on.
- Go towards that tower in the back. Kiss the baby. Go inside the tower from here.
- Speak to the girl on the tree here.
- New party member get! From here, leave the way you came.
- Open either door, either way. Then enter.
- Open the left door, then the right door, (or vice versa) then enter look at painting of the Pyramid.
- Before heading south toward the cat, head left for some chests, and then right for even more chests. Various items and money are in here. Then, go south. There is a glowing door with a HP symbol on it, interact with that for a permanent +1 health for Alex.
- Then, speak to Dali. Dali can be used to hit switches from far away, and stun enemies for about 1.5 seconds.
- Go towards the carpet. Then, equip Dali.
- Go to the island to the left. Activate the switch on the left island, then throw Dali to activate the switch on the right island, then get on the carpet, and activate the left island’s switch.
- Once up the carpet, throw Dali to the switch on the platform on the bricks.
- Up the ladder, there is vending machine. Feel free to grab some healing items before the battles ahead.
- Entering to the door on the right, there will be two thrones. When say “Yes” to the prompt given from the throne. Then, go to the crown.
- From here, there will be a two disc shaped rooms with enemies to fight. Find the plugs, and then connect them. Follow the paths that open up from here, then go back to the center room. Save and heal before entering. Make sure also to equip whatever items you have found along the way.
- After the cutscene here, you will be given a yes or no choice. If you say Yes, you will be given a little extra help in this first boss battle, making it a lot easier. You can say no for a bit of an extra challenge though.
- First boss battle time. Wilheim isn’t too bad, especially if you got that bit of extra help in the form of Krow, an extra temporary party member with some moves that can really help destroy Wilheim’s health and Karta.
- First turn, I recommend immediately defending with Alex, then with Krow using Cut deck to destroy all of Wilheim’s Karta. Sammy has the Rally ability, which restores a ton of PP, so spam where necessary. Once Wilheim’s Karta is broken, spam Krow’s throw stick ability and normal attack with Sammy and Alex. Using a Panda Barrier here is good idea to help with defense, which really helps stop Wilheim’s aoe attacks that hit like a truck and can tear throw everyone’s Karta.
- This fight is fairly straightforward. Just once Wilheim’s Karta is broken just keep up that Panda Barrier and as soon as Krow’s Throw Stick ability goes throw he should be dead. If you aren’t using Krow it can be a little more tricky, but just keep up that Panda Barrier and you will take very little damage.
- Go down the elevator from here once Wilheim is defeated.
- After several dramatic cutscenes, Sammy will have been taken from your party.
- You can now leave the Factory Hotel.
- Odd note for speedrunners (?) – During this sequence of you walking Alex back home, if you get to the end of the Windy Field before his monologue is complete, there seems to be an invisible wall that doesn’t disappear until then. Odd stuff.
- Go back home. It’s the one with the big Welcome Home sign by it. Pay no attention to any stray cats that call for your attention along the way this time.
- By your home now is a money tree and a hamburger tree. Feel free to pick for free items (5 Hamburgers) and cash ($25).
- To the immediate left of these trees is a chest with a milkshake in it. Since you now have both Dali and Panda, there are a handful of chests in Frankton you can grab along the way whenever.
- Once home, it is time to Reflect on what just happened even further.
- Now on the computer, you can now explore ONISM1999. Check back here every so often, as this is where to find a lot of side quests. For now, it is all just flavor text and in universe discussion about plot details.
- Go to bed! First dream cutscene.
EXPLORATION
- Morning. Once out of bed, go downstairs and answer the phone.
- Once in town, head east back toward the forest.
- After a brief discussion, Michael has now joined your party!
- Head east from here. If you got here early this conversation is mildly funny. Head southeast to get to the camera store. To the left of it is the record shop as well, which doesn’t have any new stock, but if you haven’t gotten the Sergant Salty EP yet, now is the time to do so. You can also invest in a x87 Digital Camera which is slightly better than the stock Disposable Camera that Michael initially gets.
- Head to the Arcade after receiving the camera for Michael. This place is the BOMB. Leave after, though feel free to pick up the single dollar bill on the ground before doing so.
- Head back up to the Factory Hotel. There are now a few random encounters along the way that you can easily kill to get items and xp.
- You will need at least 400 XP by the end of Chapter 1, which so if you havent been killing everything along the way, make sure to kill at a few random enemies here. You'll also get a free 100 xp at the end of chapter 1 so you should be fine unless you have actively been avoiding enemies.
- Michael in battle by default comes with the skill Photoshoot, a fairly decent aoe ability that has decent speed, and later on you can unlock for him some really powerful debuffing abilities. He also comes with the very powerful Karta “The Seamtress”, which doubles his health and regenerates some lost health each turn. Using The Seamtress Karta heals all allies for full as well. Feel free to move this Karta over to Alex if you want. Photoshoot alone makes Michael honestly very strong in the early game until stronger aoe abilities on other party members are unlocked. Aoe abilities in general in this battle system are very powerful.
- Once you make it back to the Factory Hotel, you can enter through the front door this time instead of having to sneak up through the ladder. Make sure to save first.
- Soul Survivor boss fight time. You can defend or waste time however you like, as all of your attacks won’t do anything to it. You can however use Cat Burgle to get a free item off it that is pretty decent! It hard targets Alex. Once Alex is dead, finish the job and normal attack with Michael.
- Once beaten, check the pot behind where it was for a bit of Ambrosia and Holy Water.
- THIS THING IS DIGITAL, BABY
CHAPTER 2: A CHANCE SURVIVOR
Welcome back, Child. Did something happen between the Blackened Pond and now?
- Head behind the Iron Maidens.
- Don’t touch the dark shadowy figures, they send you to the beginning of this area. Go over to jump pad that is over and around the entrance (refer to the graph to see which jump pads are safe). Then, jump down the building and go to the jump pad that sends you to the Roblox Obby looking area. Don’t fall off the platform, and then you should be able to jump pad back over. Once you have touched the water, your shoes will now be squeaky clean, letting you pass through blue and white figures.
- Go back past the Iron Maidens, and then past the Golden Alpaca and fire hallway.
- Go up the stairs. Talk to the figure behind the tree and the angel.
- Joke field card get.
- Go back to the Golden Alpaca, and speak with him.
- Joke field card removed, Serious Attitude card get. You can now pass through the red and orange figures.
- Head back up the hill, and go into the house.
- Time to name a few more things.
THE MIND DUNGEON AND YOU (AND YOU)
- Head back to Alex’s house.
- After uploading the pictures to ONISM, head back into the arcade.
- This battle is actually able to be beaten, though you don’t get much out of doing so. Don't waste items doing so either way, it really isn't worth it.
- Once you get the ♥♥♥♥ beaten out of you, go back to Alex’s house, and show Vella the photos.
- Head downstairs and answer the phone.

- After that lengthy exposition sequence, the Mind Dungeon will now be accessible. This is your way to level up, which you can do every time you have 100 xp or more. The requirements to level up never increase, it is always 100 xp to level up. When you kill enemies, you kill them forever, so to get as much xp as possible, be sure to kill as many enemies as you come across.
- You can access the Mind Dungeon from any and all save points in the game when playing as Alex.
- When speaking to Krow, you will be given three different ways to level up. The Self prioritizes bonuses in LIF and STR, The Sun prioritizes bonuses in LUK and SPD, and The Holy Thief prioritizes bonuses in AGL and PRC. I personally like putting most of my levels in The Self and The Holy Thief, with little to none in The Sun.
- The Mind Dungeon is massive. The more field abilities you unlock, the more you can explore in it. This mini pseudo open world area also has upgrades for your characters throughout. Enemies throughout the game will also drop blood bags every so often (and in Chapter 5, every 5th enemy), which is how you upgrade your Karta. Make sure to upgrade your Karta as much as possible, especially the good ones.
- Going down from the initial spawn of the Mind Dungeon, Jocasta is back. They give you your first Karta Key in exchange for your Heart Karta. You can use this first Karta Key on any Golden Egg you find, or use it on the one nearest to Jocasta here. There are several with the moveset you have now you can find and unlock, each with a different Karta inside. Also, feel free to take The Seamtress Karta from Krow for use for you and your party members outside of here.
- The chalices throughout the Mind Dungeon include permanent abilities unlocks for your various party members. If the chalice is transparent, then that chalice is for a party member that you haven't gotten in your party yet!
- The enemy you have to fight inside the mind dungeon seems a bit familiar…
- Also of note here is there is a jukebox. You can unlock more songs for it by beating the optional enemy challenges throughout the overworld (the “Monster Dens”).
- An in-depth battle tutorial can be access from the Mind Dungeon at any time.
- Though right now you can’t get many, later on you’ll be able to find various blue embryos that you can trade to Jocasta for more Karta Keys. Whenever you unlock a new ability, make sure to explore the Mind Dungeon as much as you can!
- To leave the Mind Dungeon, hold down RB / R1 on your controller, or the [ key on your keyboard, or fall outside the boundary of the map, to return to spawn. Then, just go back to the payphone to save and/or leave.

- After leaving the Mind Dungeon, check ONISM once more. Then, call Vella on the phone in your house.
- Once off the bus, start heading to Wind Town. As Vella said, it is just northeast from the bus stop. Along the way, you can also do one of the few monster dens you can full complete at this point if you go along the sides of the highway, though you may want to go back to Wind Town or Frankton a few times to heal, since at this point you may be a little underleveled for it.
- Now that Vella is in the party, make sure to grab the Bass Drop ability from the mind dungeon ASAP, it is another pretty powerful aoe ability that can really help deal with some of the more nasty enemies coming up really well.
WIND TOWN
- Once in Wind Town proper, it seems that you are going to have to find some info, and by that, I mean beat up every single resident in Wind Town until you find the kid who sent you a PM, in order.
- Start with the Jock by the front of town. His Karta can easily be broken with Vella’s normal attacks, and once he is weakened, he will summon a few ads. Michael’s photoshoot is particularly effective here.
- Heal up by the sink near the shops to the far top left corner of the town between fights.
- After the Jock is the Unpaid Cashier by the 777 Lucky Mart. You can break her Karta with Vella, and then just beat her down until she is dead.
- Next, go to the playground to the southeast, and beat up the brown hair child by the benches. He doesn't have much to him, just beat him up until he dead. Nothing fancy about him, but his bullets do pierce.
- Now time for the graveyard girl. She is the only one in the graveyard. She has two skull ads that can be a little annoying to deal with here. Photoshoot with Michael ASAP to get rid with them. She is weak to Alex’s element so from here keep him alive and just spam normal attacks.
- Drunkard time. Go around the edges and then to the left to the gated house. It is the fat guy tweaking out. This is the worst fight in the game in my opinion. ASAP get the Panda Barrier up. Keep Alex alive as much as you can and spam Gauze Bandages where necessary. He heals a small amount of health once you get him to 50% too. Not much you can do to speed up this fight, just keep up Panda Barrier where possible as he hits hard and by god does he have a lot of health.
- After beating the Drunkard you finally get the key to the Mancers. Head over to the gated house and you can enter through the front door.
- Once you are done with meeting Rory, he joins your party. Rory is a bit of a odd party member – Back before the I.V. update he was the weakest, but now has quite the interesting variety of support moves that make him quite useful in lot of these early to mid game sections and autoattacks if he gets hit, making him a bit more like a combination of a healer and a monk type character. I personally like using him over Michael, but Michael has powerful enough early game AOEs that make him always good for offense, so it is really up to you what you want to have in your party depending on the situation for now. As always, when you get the chance, to go to your Mind Dungeon to unlock new abilities for this new party member; In this case it will be the Give Karta ability for Rory, the only one able to be unlocked at the moment. Alsoau decide to not use him in your party, make sure to equip the Karta on one of your party members for that tiny bit of extra XP and defense.
- Follow Rory around Wind Town and pretend he is making any sense. From his house, he is going to go south to around the mobile homes, then keep going west to the tunnel. Speak with him there.
- The tour continues! Head up northeast to the pond where you fought the Wannabie Cop earlier. Discussion of metaphysics continues, and now time to go the next spot on our little tour. Follow Rory up to the 777 Mart and continue your chat. Then continue the chat by heading back to the tunnel.
SEWER DUNGEON
- Welcome to the sewers. Cowabunga! My level starting this dungeon was 8. The enemies here can be a little tricky. If you haven't healed up already, head out of the dungeon and heal up or heal with items. There is a save point at the beginning of the dungeon here.
- There are six types of enemies here, Sewer Rats, Mermaids, Slime Girls, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ OCs, and Crocodiles. Sewer Rats have no Karta and 35 health. Mermaids have 45 health and two The Deep Well Karta, meaning they will be pretty slow but are fairly tanky at this point. Slime Girls have only 6 health but 3 The Crooked Man Karta that all make them immune to piercing attacks and slightly increase their health. Poos have a single level 1 The Crooked Man Karta and 16 base health. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ OCs are probably one of the most annoying enemies in the entire game with their ultra high speed stats, but don’t hit hard with no Karta and 30 HP, and I am not sure if I am insane or not but the longer a fight goes on with one of these guys the faster they seem to get. Finally, Crocodiles are simply just simple enemies that hit hard and have 20 health, nothing fancy.
- Keep in mind now that you have 4 party members that when one of your party members dies, who ever is not in your front row party will join in (ie, if Rory is in your back row and Michael dies, he will replace him after a turn.)
- From the front of the entrance of the dungeon there is a door to the left. In it there is a bathroom stall that random encounters in here for xp.
- Also as always keep in mind you can use save points to go to the Mind Dungeon to level up whenever you can.
- Head right from the entrance to the dungeon and enter the door. There is a fight against two Poos and one Mermaid in here. Once beaten, the chest in the room has a dungeon key.
- Head south and in this next room, climb the ladder. Vella will give you the Amp overworld ability, allowing you break rocks. Feel free to head back to the Mind Dungeon as a lot of it just got opened up now. Either way, break the rocks, and open the locked door with the key you got earlier.
- Break all half a dozen rocks that are your way to get through this next room. Who put these here!
- Save point in this next room. Use Dali to get the chest to your right for $20, then bomb the cracked wall.
- Climb the ladder, break the rock, then use Dali to get the chest to your left for a weapon upgrade for Vella, then go south to the next room.
- After the enemy encounter, use Dali to grab the chest for a Dungeon Key. Rast past the goop to the east to the next door.
- Another save point here. After the enemy encounter, use Dali to grab the dungeon chest for 5 Fountain Sodas, then head east pull the handle on sewage. Head out of this room and climb the ladder, then open the locked door.
- Past the hallway, there is an intersection of three paths. First, grab the chest for 5 Smoke Bombs. Heading up the ladder there is a door with three different colored locks, each colored to a different door below, some vending machines for extra healing if needed, and another save point. Miniboss rush time!
- Heading through the purple door on the far right, grab the chest for $20, then enter the door to the right. This is the first of three encounters against the Samurai Tortorises, who at the very least you only have to face one of at a time. This first one has three Karta, the Deep Well, The Poisoned Apple, and The Thief all at LVL 2, has 130 health, and most importantly an absolute banger of a boss theme. Make sure to save between fights.
- After defeating him, grab the Purple Key, then head out, heal then head through the Grey Door. Past the hallway, there are two chests you can grab with Dali, each with equipment. This next Tortoise has the same Karta with less health at 113. This one can be a little tricky though as they may replenish their Karta with all new ones. Grab the Silver Key, then head out and heal up again.
- In the green door on the far left; Break the rock, then face the next and final Tortoise. This one has the three LVL 2 Wine of Fortune Karta and has 93 health. This Tortoise seems to have an odd bit to his AI of just using all of his Kartas as attacks ASAP, doing good damage to your party but leaving his defenses wide open. He also hits like a truck, so be careful! Once defeated, grab the Green Key, head out, and heal for the last time.
- Save here! Going into this next bit, I personally just got to level 10. Use all three keys on the locked door, make sure you have Vella in the front row, then enter. Welcome to hell.
- This fight is tough. Going in my Party was Alex, Michael, Vella, with Rory in the backrow for this fight. The Golden Alpaca has three Karta at the start, a LVL 4 Torn Hat, LVL 4 Fattened Calf, and a LVL 4 Seamtress, along with just over 300 health at the start. Use your items liberally, and as soon you get hit with one of his powerful attacks, use an item like an Ambrosia to full heal and get max PP ASAP. After his first attack, he will summon two Soul Survivor ads, which can be dealt with either by using Vella’s Banish move or blinding the party with Michael and shooting them. Use Michael’s Blinding Flash on the Golden Alpaca ASAP, and then start taking down the Soul Survivors, as they hit pretty hard. Get up a Panda Barrier as well for the extra defense stalling. Use PP increasing items where possible with Michael/Rory and use the Vella and Alex attack the Golden Alpaca. Your whole strategy throughout this fight has to be to have one of your party members be designated as an item spammer and / or defensive ability user where possible, such as using Panda Barrier when it is down, or using PP increasing and Healing items where possible while the other two attack as much as possible. Any time items don’t have to be used, that third party member can be used for extra attack. I prefer having Michael in the front end here for his Blinding Flash ability (make sure to grab that from the Mind Dungeon before entering!) but Rory in front works pretty well because of his autoattacks as well. Just make sure to have Vella in front no matter what. You can also use Vella as a buffer and healer when the Soul Survivor ads are down, as long as you managed to grab those abilities from the Mind Dungeon first. Just play somewhat defensively and you’ll be fine. If there are any Soul Survivor ads remaining when the Golden Alpaca is defeated, they will disappear. Most annoying thing here is just how high his health his with how little damage you do at this point of the game.
- Appreciate Vella’s intense amount of patience she has with Alex here.
- Brief dream intermission.
REALITY BREAK
- Game heals you up for you, fortunately. Save up. Head to the door to the north for a chest with $100 in it. Lucky! Head south from the entrance.
- Go through the green door. There are a few optional encounters here you can grab for extra xp along the way.
- There are a lot of annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥ OC enemies throughout here. This is a fairly linear sequence, just head through the curving hallways. Once you get to an intersection of two doors, first head through the far door on the close door to the north.
Go through the jump pads, and behind the Golden Alpaca and the rocks is a chest with 30 pieces of Silver.
- Give the Silver to the bizarre looking man, then grab the VHS. Then head back out and to the door on the far left back on the intersection.
- There is an enemy encounter blocking a chest that gives you 2 Chicken Finger Platters. Going past that, there will be a chess board looking area. Head to the right, then talk to
Proto Fan, giving him the VHS. You can now sit on that chair behind where he was.
Head up the red stairs, and talk to the blue man, named The Fourth Entity. Then enter the water in the center of the area. This gives you a door that lets you exit this area.
- Alex is a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Talk to the robed Alexs one at a time as they present themselves.
CHAPTER 3: RELUCTANT APOLOGY TOUR
It has been a long couple of days. Let’s make it longer.

- Before heading out, open your chest to refill your items. Go downstairs and talk to your mother.
- Seems you need to get a job! First, talk to the robed Alexs again, in order. Don’t forget to grab more bandages from the first-aid kit in the kitchen as well before heading out.
- Go to the rocks by the construction zone in Frankton for a chest with 50 bucks and some smoke bombs. Next, start heading east and enter the arcade. Talk to Vella at the change counter.
- Go out and to the pizza shop to ask about a job. Then go out to burger joint to ask for a job. Head south to the camera shop and ask about a job. Seems that is enough job hunting for one day, time to head home and go to sleep.
- First, answer the phone! Then, go to sleep. Dream 3 time.
- Head downstairs and go to the kitchen. Speak with the Entity, then head upstairs to your room. Now, go back downstairs and to the kitchen. The door to the backyard is open now, go through it!
- Follow the Entity through the forest.
- Going into the Mountain Radio Tower, there is a save point, feel free to use it as there will be a couple of enemies up ahead with no party members but Alex to fight them. You can even test out the ever powerful combo of Fattened Calf, Seamtress and Sorrowful Maiden (In that order) while you are here to help speed things along.
- Since you are without party members for a bit, you are able to equip their Karta. Feel free to for the extra defense.
- Follow the Entity and make sure to pick up the chests along the way for some pretty good items and money.
- Only enemies here are some weak Bats and somewhat annoying to deal with Aliens. These enemies are all pretty weak.
- There is a Collectible Pog in the chest that requires Dali to grab.
- If you want to avoid encounters here, you can stun a lot of the enemies here with Dali, and the chests hitboxes are all slightly larger than they look, so they can be opened through walls.
- Keep following the Entity into the radio station hut.
- After that series of dramatic cutscenes, make sure to refill your items from your chest again.
- Leaving home, go the the house directly west of Alex’s, the dark blue one with a light blue car parked next to it and a large sign next to it.
- Next, try the red house southeast of here, the one with a doghouse up front.
- After meeting with Michael’s Mom, go to the Record Store on the far east side of Frankton, directly south of the Arcade.
- Once inside, speak with the cashier inside.
- Leave the Record Store, then go to the Arcade, speak with Vella at the change register.
- Leave the Arcade. Michael has rejoined your party. Make sure to reequip him with some Karta.
- Head over to the bus stop on the south west side of Frankton, then head over to West Town.
HELL HOUSE
- Welcome back, Child. Move quickly. There is a weapon upstairs.
- You have been cursed with a new Karta, the Tank Karta. This makes you move like old school horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
- The house layout here is the same as Alex’s, just it flips horizontally across a glowing line.
- Head up the stairs quickly! No time to be reading this guide, but at least the enemies won’t move while paused.
- The Gun will be on the red room half way through on the right side.
- Once you grab the gun, you get uncursed. No more tank controls! You start with six bullets, and to reload you have to grab the various ammo boxes throughout the area. Careful with your ammo.
- If you ever get caught by the Bad Brother balloons, you will be teleported to the beginning of the sequence. You lose some progress if you get caught, as your kill count will be reset to 0.
- Your goal now is to eliminate the Bad Brother balloons. There are 3 upstairs, and 3 downstairs.
- Once all Bad Brother balloons are eliminated, go to the downstairs kitchen, on the mirrored side. Meet with the person there.
- Go get the key by going up the stairs in the mirrored version of downstairs. There will be a large blue picture on the stair case as your way to tell.
- Boss fight, sort of, time. This large baby head will shoot out rockets while the Bad Brother balloons slowly float toward you. Shoot down the rockets by the head to damage it while avoiding the balloons. If one of the rockets hits one of the balloons near the head that works too. There is an ammo packet to the top left and bottom right corners of the room. Once it has been damaged four times, you can proceed by grabbing the Basement Key Karta then leaving by way of Iron Maiden.
- Speak with the person on the mirrored kitchen, then enter the basement (the glowing red door on the normal side of the house).
- Time to name more friends!!!

RECORD SHOP TOUR
- Leave the bus stop, then go to Wind Town.
- Head over to Rory’s house. Knock on the back door, then the front. Rory has (re)joined your party. Once again, be sure to reequip them with any Karta and the like.
- Head over to the record shop from here, and speak to the cashier.
- Seems that they don’t have the LP here either. Head out of Wind Town and go to the Bus Stop. Take a bus to the Strip Mall in the Middle of Nowhere.
- Once at the strip mall, head to the burger joint. After that cutscene is over, you can buy healing items from the guy up front for cheap. Nothing great here but nice to have this option.
- Head up to the Record Store, meet up with the cashier.
- No LP here either. Take a bus to their flagship store.
- Welcome to Flag Town. The Record Store in question is on the far east side of town. Speak with the cashier inside.
- Claudio and Chondra have now joined your party! Claudio is easily one of the strongest DPS units in the game, as he can later on get some really powerful AOE attacks and buffing skills. Chondra is a bit… Odder. Probably one of the weaker party members, she is a more supportive party member with a variety of healing and enemy debuffs. Pretty similar to Rory.
- Leave Flag Town once you are done exploring. You need to head south east from here on the overworld to Mt. Town.
- Head north east in Mt. Town, going up and around the houses along the way and past the hikers to get to the mountain.
- After the cutscene, interact with Alex.
- Head up the mountain and enter the Mountain Path. At the top of the path, Rory teaches you the Hair Whip ability, letting you cut down these odd tiki trees throughout the overworld.

MT. CAVE DUNGEON
- Immediately inside, there is a save point. Since you just unlocked a new ability and now have two new party members, be sure to head inside the Mind Dungeon and unlock as many new abilities and secrets as you can find with your new powers.
- In the bottom side of the Mind Dungeon there is a small cage with an ability chalice behind the tiki trees you can cut down. Make sure to get this. This ability is LP Toss II, easily one of the strongest abilities in the entire game. Alex will be using and abusing this for the rest of the game.
- My party for this dungeon was Alex, Claudio, and Rory in that order. Alex and Claudio are the main damage dealers here, and Rory spams defend for LP Toss II PP, then gets hit to abuse his auto attack. For a similar set up, Michael instead of Claudio also works pretty well.
- Once out of the Mind Dungeon, head up the ladder to the left, then throw Dali to the right to activate the switch.
- Walk through the bridge, then past the poison to the stairs downward. The poison swamp tiles do small amounts of party wide damage every second, so make sure to run fast when you have to go through them.
- Going down, beat the enemy to your left, then go through the poison tiles. The south most chest has a dungeon key. Head east, then bomb the cracked wall.
- Cut down the tiki head trees, then go downstairs. Head east through tiki trees and down stairs.
- Jump down the cliff side, then cut down more tiki trees and bomb more rocks. Just jump down from here and head east.
- Bomb three rocks to the east. The top chest has the dungeon key, and the right chest is a mimic.
- Heading through the poison to the east, the ladder up to the cliff side leads to a room with a chest and a lot of rocks in it. Bomb the rocks, and open the chest for another Collectible Pog. Through the poison is also your only way out of here.
- Bomb the south east rock in the area up, jump down the hole, then throw Dali at the switch. Go back up, then go through the hole behind the rock directly north of the hole you just went through. Go back up, then go through the hole behind the rock hiding behind tiki trees. Follow the bridge, then head up.
- Go through the poison area to the north, then head through the doors on the left and in the center for some treasure rooms. Once you have gotten all of the treasure, head out then head east through the locked door.
- Head through the stairs. Once in the large room, throw Dali to the east, then open the chest. Now, throw Dali north to the next bridge, follow the bridges here. Then, from the west side of the slagtite, throw Dali directly south. Follow that bridge, then jump down, break the rock, then pull the lever.
- Jump down, then you go around the cliff where you initially came in. To the left is a mimic, which gives you an equipment upgrade if you beat it, and behind the rocks to the north is another switch you need to pull. The next lever is in the north west corner here under another rock.
- Once both switches are pulled, head back up through the ladder on the cliff side you initially came in on, then head up through the stairs on the cliffside that you can now access.
- Once you are in the room with the locked door and the save point, remove all Karta from Alex and Rory and where possible move their equipment to other party members. This will be very clear why in a minute. Put their Karta on the remaining three party members. Heal up if you haven’t already, then save and enter the door.
- Speak with the Boombox Specter.
- Welcome to the boss fight of this dungeon, the Perfume King. Alex and Rory are not available to be used until the ads taking them are defeated. This boss fight is… Something else. ASAP use slow bleed with Chondra. The ads cannot be defeated, so just hard target Perfume King. The Perfume King can sometimes randomly confuse one of your party members, making them attack randomly sometimes hurting one of your party members. Spam spread item with Chondra and use the other two to hard focus Perfume King.
- Once the Perfume King is down, the ads die along with him. Not a very hard fight, just use your items where necessary and pray you don’t get confusion locked.
- Exit the cave, then head south west. Enter the cabin and speak with Mark.
- Laugh very very very hard at Alex right now. He never read the cover of the album he is looking for.
- Before you leave, there are two chests here nearby that have money in them.
- Leave by jumping down the cliff here and exiting out of Mt. Town.
PURGATORIO
This basement looks a bit odd. Still better the one in the Binding of Isaac…
- From spawn, head north down the stairs.
- Following the pathway here, shooting the balloon Bad Brothers, then head up the rainbow stairs.
- Speak with the figure here. You lose your gun, but get a new faster form of attack in the form of the ballerina dance. This lets you spindash straight through enemies along the way and is a good movement tool!
- Dash through the balloon Bad Brothers, being careful not to accidentally run into them, going downstairs.
- Beezleboss fight time. You can only hit him after he swings his sword. Just dodge him until he swings the sword, then dash into him. After hitting him twice, he will start shooting three fireballs after getting hit, then swing his sword. After 5 hits, he goes down.
- Pick up the Memory Card. After the cutscene, you lose the ability to dance, and gain two Karta, the Good Brother and the Bad Brother. Use the jump pads and follow the linear pathways through here. You can run again, also.
- You’ll be interrupted every so often by the Krow. After the third interruption, that is the end of this segment.
VELLA WILDE
- Head to the arcade now you are back in Frankton.
- After entering the arcade, Vella rejoins your party.
- Go to any save point. You can now enter Vella’s Mind Dungeon.
- Once in, flip the switch immediately north of the entrance.
- There is a skateboarding Vella going around in a pattern. Knock them over by putting Panda in their way. This unlocks the Skateboard tool. Feel free to go back to Alex’s Mind Dungeon now you have yet another tool to find even more abilities and the like.
- Also, don’t forget to reequip Vella with some Karta.
- The Skateboard tool lets you go pretty fast in one direction, just you can’t change direction once you are going. It also lets you go across ramps.
- As a brief aside, you now have almost every tool. Since you can access Vella’s Mind Dungeon from any save point, you can also take some time to go back to various monster dens you can access from the overworld. With your current levels and abilities, you should be able to clear out a few. Good idea to clear at least one before Chapter 5.
- My party throughout this dungeon was Alex, Vella, and Rory. Rory’s autoattacks are really good at dealing with Bellas since the autoattacks are a guaranteed hit even on enemies with high evasion, and Vella is really needed because she can banish the various Soul Survivor enemies in this dungeon.
- From the start of the dungeon, there is a red door on the left. This has two chests and a heal point. Go back here if you ever need healing instead of using your items where possible to save on money and items.
- Head to the grey door with an exit sign over it. Then, speak to Bartender Jill, from hit visual novel VA-11 Hall-A. Hit back to the grey door with the exit sign over it.
- Lot of decent items in this room. You have to kill every enemy here, then go tell Jill about it. Pick up the chests along the way of course.
- Jill gives you a nerve-killing tonic. From here, go in the dark green door on the left with a star on it, the one south of the red door that has a healing spot.
- Go past the hallways of enemies here (almost all enemies here are entirely avoidable if you are fine with not getting the xp and items from killing them!), then go in the pink door and give drummer Vella the tonic.
- Go in the green door with a star over it on the back side on the left. Then, go in the blue door. There will be a chest with a Poke Flute in it. Leave the area.
- Go to the bottom right corner and go in the light orange door by using the Poke Flute to “Poke” the sleeping man. Go through the hallways and open the chest at the end of the room for a door piece.
- Go to the broken orange door in the top right and repair it with the door piece. Grab the blanket from baby Vella.
- Go back in the green door with a star over it on the back side on the left. Skate across the ramps, and pass the hallway. Give the Vella in the tub the blanket you got from baby Vella.
- Go in the blue door on the right side with a star in it. The chest on the far right is a mimic. Fight the enemy blocking the yellow door, and then open it. There is a ladder inside. Bring the ladder to the far left wall. Now, put Panda on either the left button or the right button. Stand on the middle button, then throw Dali on whichever button isn’t already being pressed.
- Climb the ladder, drop Panda on one of the lanes, then skate from the right side into Panda. Open the door, and talk to the Vella on the arcade cabinet.
- Leave the area, then enter the light green door to the south of here.
- Avoid the hands, then climb the ladder to the right. Go in the door to the left from here.
- Try to kiss balloon Vella. She won’t let you until you pass the quiz! The answers to the quiz are: Her pet peeve is an out of tune piano, her biggest turn on is baby faces, and her biggest fear is getting fat. Go in the door from here, then speak with Pianist Vella. She needs some help with the scale she is working on, so go back and speak with the condutor. Then speak with Pianist Vella once more.
- Go back to the start of the dungeon, then speak with the manager.
- Save your game, heal up, then head back stage. Before going into this I was level 19. Make sure to go and grab whatever items and enemies you missed earlier for more xp and items as you won’t be able to reenter this dungeon later.
- Hey! This guy has been reading my walkthrough!!
- Welcome to the Threatening Fan boss fight. A fairly simple fight here. He has a base HP of 220, and will constantly redraw Karta and use them. As long as you have the Sorrowful Maiden Karta on Alex you should be able to really tear through him. He has no really powerful moves, just he is a little tanky. You don’t really have to do any thing fancy here, just keep up a Panda Barrier every so often and just spam normal attacks. He can also sometimes.
- Once defeated, pick up the LP, and grab the Mystical Ultima LP Legend finally.
- Walk across the hallway, talking to the Vellas along the way. There are no longer as many Vellas at there are Final Fantasy games here. It’s okay, this segment apparently happens in 2016 so that was technically still true. Leave by entering the massive light pillar at the end.
- Vella has left the party. Answer the phone. Leave your house, and go to the park in the far east side of Frankton, though you may want to do some exploration. Things are little different.. And it’s Halloween! Once you meet up with Vella, she will do a little exposition.
- There are two choices at the end of this scene. One is much, much more funny.
- Vella has rejoined your party, again.
CHAPTER 4: MYSTICAL ULTIMA LP LEGEND
- Go back to your house, now that you are done being a good friend.
- Head out the back door and start heading back up to the radio station.
- If there are any enemies or chests remaining, now is a good time to get them.
- Once in the radio station, several cutsenes will play in sequence.
- Meet the Essentia 2000. The most powerful party member in the game. You only get a taste of them now. Defeat the Soul Survivors.
- Once out of the cutscenes, leave the radio station.
- Rory wants to talk to you for a bit. This is an optional sequence, but you should be a good friend, right?
- You can really be a ♥♥♥♥ to him here. Maybe don’t do that, there are consequences for that!
- Make sloppy with that boy. Whoa, he’s bisexual, I didn’t know that!
- Leave your house. Meet up with Vella at the park again. Speak with her. Vella has rejoined your party again.
- Go over to the sports store and meet up with Claudio, and he rejoins your party.
- Go over to the camera shop and meet up with Michael, and he rejoins your party.
- Go over the fountain, and meet up with Chondra, and she rejoins your party.
- Go back to your home and log on the computer. Rory messages you a few different locations to check out. While on the computer, make sure to check out Onism to accept whatever side quests you can.
- Go back to Claudio and head out. First, make sure to pick up Rory! He still is a pretty good party member, unless you hate his guts for some reason, then you don’t have to. Probably should though.
- Go to Wind Town, and you can pick up Rory at his house. You can also do one of the Onism side quests if you picked that up earlier. Go past the bridge to the water tower reservoir. Once done in Wind Town, leave by talking to Claudio at the entrance to Wind Town.
- Go to the reservoir, watch the cutscene. You get some items here.
- Now, go to the Bowling Alley. Inside of the van here is the Vinchenzo and Chad fight. These guys are really tanky and hit like a truck! Hard target Vinchenzo first, he has the gun shooting ability that the Soul Survivor Xs had earlier, just with that massive health pool. If you manage to survive this fight, make sure to heal up. Those two were base on internet comedians Vito Gesualdi and ♥♥♥♥ Masterson of the The Biggest Problem in the Universe podcast. They give decent xp though, so this optional fight is somewhat worth doing.
- Go to Easton University from here. Check out the van there.
- Take a quick pit stop at the Gas Station, there are a few items you can buy and pick up here.
- Also, you can also now drive to the locations manually instead of using Claudio to instantly teleport you there. While you are exploring the overworld, it should be noted that several monster dens are able to be completed in full with ease. I’d recommend doing so for extra experience, items, and secrets. Plus, helps if you want to do as much as possible during Chapter 5. Most of the dens you can’t complete in full, but can beat most of the enemies in.
- Monster dens you can complete in full are: Lvl 3 (Directly south on the Bus Stop in the Middle of Nowhere, say hi to my friend Soup while you are there), which awards the Fattened Calf Karta upon completion, Lvl 8, (southeast of the Bowling Ally, next to Gas Station), which has the secret Monster Flute item and the Hungry Traveller Karta, Lvl 4 (Northwest of the mall), which rewards an Poisoned Apple Karta, and the LVL 5 den (south of KNN), which gives the Seamtress Karta.
- All of these dens also give music tracks upon completion that can be used as alt tracks in the Mind Dungeon. You can only get the Karta from these dens if you already have these Karta.
- Once done, head to the mall. The mall rats have taken the keys to the van!
- Enter the mall, Follow the rat straight ahead. They are in the trash can the left side corner next to the escalators.
- Follow them into the booth ahead. They will then go to the Goth Topic (left from here), then go to the big fountain in the middle. Throw Dali at them. They will then go to the top right corner of the mall, by the save and heal point. Heal and save now then follow the rat ahead. Make sure Vella is in your front line of your party.
- The Gothic Entity is another odd boss fight. They start with 266 base health and a lineup of The Crooked Man (lvl 3), Golden Spoon (lvl 4), and the Starving Man* (lvl 3). Start by breaking their Karta with LP Toss and then start raw attacking them. At low health it will create a shield for itself that must be broken before more damage can be dealt to it, which can be broken with Vella’s banish. Gothic Entity is weak to Alex’s element, so feel free to buff Alex with Vella and / or Chondra here. Goes down pretty fast.
THE ESSENTIA 2000
- After that series of cutscenes, the Essentia 2000 has joined your party. For the entirety of this dungeon, it will just be Alex and the Essentia.
- The Essentia 2k, for the lack of a better word, is entirely overpowered. Easily the best party member in raw damage. Equip them with a decent set of Karta, and for every single enemy encounter you will be using the ever powerful Chain Gun. It kills all.
- From the starting room of the dungeon, go to the top right, and pick up the dungeon key inside the flesh. Then, go through the locked door.
- Break the cracked wall here, and open the chest behind it for some good healing items. Then keep following the pathway and go up the stairs.
- Move the hand three times. This unlocks the gate. Head right, and move the hand once to unlock the gate to the right. Go through that door.
- Go up the hand staircase, and use the amp at the top. Then, throw Dali to the switch on the left. Grab the flamethrower. This is your last tool! This breaks candles and lights torches.
- Take a brief minute to go to the Mind Dungeon. Now that you have every tool in the game, you can get every ability and every extra Karta left! Don’t leave until you have everything, and don’t forget to spend your blood bags!
- With that out of the way, light all 6 matches by the table to your right. Then, pick up the left leg.
- Going back to the central room, flip the hand to face left. Flip the gold hand to face north. Go in this door.
- Light up the match, then go through the poison to flip the switch, then go across, break the rocks, and then flip the switch under the rocks. Grab the comb, then go back through the poison then through the hair door north. Drop the comb over the door, letting you go through it. Fight the enemy, then bomb the wall with vines over it.
- Speak with the lady inside.
- Grab the right leg, then leave the area, returning to the central room.
- Going west, bomb the rocks, then head down the stairs.
- Go left through the wall, then light two matches. Flip the switch to the left, then grab the chests on the left. Then, unlight the matches and go south.
- Go one bit to the right, then go back north through the wall. Light the match, flip the switch, then unlight the match, and go back.
- Go left, a bit south, and then keep going left until you loop back to the right, then go up the stairs. Throw Dali right, unlocking the bridge back.
- Go back in the room, go east, looping, then immediately go south to loop again past the gates. Go all the way east as far as you can, then light up the match, and then open the chest. This has the dungeon key in it. Unlight the match, then leave the area.
- Unlock the locked door, then speak with the lady inside. Grab the left arm.
- Go to the south west stairs, blocked off by rocks. Light up the match, then pick up the right arm.
- Speak with the wall with the face on it in the center area. Give them all of the collected body parts. Enter into the room behind them.
- After that intermission, there will be two chests, one on your left and one on your right. Pick them up, then save.
- The executor up front asks for you to bring the victims to the gallows. Burn down the candle on the left, then put panda on the switch under. Walk on the switch that spawns, then go through that new door on the left.
- Light the left match, flip the switch, then light the right match, getting the chest. Unlight the left match, then flip the switch on the right. Unlight the right match, then go south.
- Burn the candles on the south edge, then pick up the laughing man. Bring him back to the gallows.
- Tell the executioner to commit this soul to death. Pick up the head, then place it in the caged body on the left up the stairs. Burn the candle on the right, put Panda on the switch, then stand on the new switch. Go through the new right door.
- Go through the hallways here and through the poison. Grab the chests along the way, and pick up the Umbrella off the corpse.
- Pick up the two chests, then break the wall with the vines on it. Grab the baby doll, then give it to the Distraught Parent on the far right. Take them to the gallows.
- Tell the executioner to commit this soul to death. Pick up the head, then place in the cage body on the right up the stairs.
- Go back down the stairs, and commit your own soul to death. Pick up Alex’s head, then put it in the center cage body up the stairs.
- Go through the door ahead. Get blown off the cliff, then climb up the stairs. I am not entirely sure what you are supposed to do here, being honest, but skateboarding through where the corpse outline is and going down the ladder from their works.
- Pick up the comb, then go back through the cage. Use the comb on the hair door. Heal up and then save your game.
- This fight is incredibly unique. For the first time since the beginning of the game, you are just with Alex, but with his full moveset, equipment, Karta, etc for the first phase of this fight. Yuzu, while tanky, isn’t necessarily the main threat here. He will continuously summon Mega Bot Nurses and shoot at you, doing one hp of damage a second. Act fast, attack faster, and get your defenses up with lightning speed. Yuzu has a base health of 320, but takes a lot of damage from a good direct hit from Alex. Just break his defenses and hard focus him. If you are worried about the ads, just summon a panda barrier. When he gets low, he will heal up for a bit. Once Yuzu is down, you still have to deal with the ads before moving on to phase 2.
- Once phase 2 begins, Alex is healed to full. The boss has two ads with him, a base health of a little over 500, a fullset of defensive Karta. Break his defenses, and hit him with your powerful aoe abilities from here. Spam LP Toss 2 to break Karta defenses, restore your PP if needed, then Build Power, then Chain Gun. Once Yuzu’s Karta are broken, he goes down to just two shots of Chain Gun and a single direct hit from Alex.
- Several cutscenes play in sequence after this.
- Follow the Essentia 2000 through the hallways.
- Inspect the flaming figure. Then speak with each of the Figures of Light.
CHAPTER 5: THE Y2K PROBLEM
- Walk back to Frankton.
PARADISO
- From the beginning of fields here, walk past the starving men, and meet with Krow in the far back.
- Follow the jump pads, then follow the path upward. Keep following the jump pads, then speak with Krow. Follow the path and speak with the Chance Traveller.
- Keep following the jump pads and then follow the path upward in the back, going down, through a rainbow path.
- Go behind the rock.
- Now being given the Umbrella, you can now travel along the Angel Stream. Go back around and down, until you find a path of angels. Follow this path, and speak with the Golden Hero.
- Follow the path back up and around to meet with Krow once more. Follow the Angel Stream from here. Speak with God.
COMPLETIONISM AND ITS CONSEQUENCES
- This chapter is almost entirely optional, believe it or not.
- Once you have gotten things going, you can skip to the end if you so desire. I would recommend against this though, as you need to upgrade your Karta as much as possible. To do so, you need blood bags.
- Every 5th enemy killed in chapter 5 is guaranteed to drop a blood bag. There is a lot to do, and not a lot of time.
- Anyway, go back to your house. The cops are here.
- After speaking with your mother, head to your room. Refill your items from your chest, then call Vella on your phone downstairs.
- Now, once again your friends are going to be around Frankton to gather together. Rory this time is by the arcade, Claudio is by the record store, and Chondra is by the park. Seems Michael is gone.
- Answer the phone. Michael would like to meet with you by the forest meadow to the west of Frankton.
- Okay, so for completionist sakes, this is actually your last chance to do everything before you are put on a strict time limit. Do every monster den you can, you have every tool in your arsenal to do this if you are going for 100%. The only downside here is you won’t get to use Michael… But like, he is easily outclassed by Claudio and the Essentia in DPS, the only thing he has that makes him worth using in this mid-late game section is Blnding Flash, which even then better just to use the PP on powerful attacks instead… Rory is better anyway.
- There are ELEVEN different monster dens, each giving an extra copy of a Karta, by the end of this adventure, you should have about ten levels and a bunch of blood bags. And most importantly, a lot of extra free time.
- This adventure is going to take a while, set aside like two hours if you plan on doing this.
While you are out and about, avoiding your Michael problem, go to an Internet Cafe and say how much you are fan of Kisage X, and then sign up for their mailing list for some funny emails at home. You can also accept Onism sidequests when the pop up online.
- Okay so after your very long optional detour throughout the world to deal with every monster den, go level up if you haven't already (and level your Karta!!), then finally go west of Frankton, and go to the Forest Meadow.
- Burn down the candles on the right, then grab the chest. That chest has a whooping $2,500 dollars!
- Meet up with Michael.
TRAINING MONTAGE
- From now on, every thing you do works under a time system. You can do one of five different things: Go out in the day time, go out in the night, go to the Mind Dungeon, or spend the day spending time with friends.
- Every time you level from now on, you spend one day.
- There are 13 Onism Quests, and if you did it right, no remaining monster dens. Don’t have to worry too much about stressing for time since you did everything before this time system went into effect!
- Go onto Onism and read every post on there. A lot of them are junk, but the last couple are side quests.
- The messages that are side quests are:
- “GHOST SIGHTING in WIND TOWN - NJ”, “Stop Signs Alive at Night”, “Mysterious Haunting in Southern Cave?”, “Missing Man at Radio Tower Mountain”, “Alien at Reservoir”, “Looking for help finding missing Semi Pak”, “Pog Collector collecting Pogs”, “Missing Kid at Twin Pines Mall”, “Mysterious Star Creature seen at Windmill”, “Mysterious Star Creature seen at Water Tower”, “Mysterious Star Creature seen at Factory”, and “A strange surplus of tortoises”.
- Accept all of these quests. Many of them overlap in areas.
- I’d like to recommend the Missables section of the following guide for this section:
https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1959745274
- The only thing to note is I.V. changed the quest rewards a bit (you have more money than you did in 1.25!)
- In general this section of the game is very combat intensive if you are going for 100% and is one of the longest stretches of the game. Take breaks if you are going for 100%, you need it. Other wise, just get enough blood bags to upgrade your best Karta to max level, then level up as much as necessary.
- Fairly surprising thing is that though the Pog quest requires you to spend $1000 on a single pog, the reward is only $500. What a ripoff!
- On December 1st there is a cutscene.
- After December 5th or so, a new quest shows up, “OFF TOPIC - Pocket monsters cards for sale”. Complete the “GHOST SITTING in WIND TOWN” quest to get the Buried Treasure needed for this, and then give the treasure to the guy at the gas station. Give the card to the lady in the pink trailer in Wind Town. Then, a new quest will show up on Onism after completing this quest and the Pog quest, “CASSETTE MADE BY Elevator girl”. Trade the Geiger counter from the Pocket monsters cards quest for this quest.
- December 10th is a cutscene, and thus the day is skipped.
- Make sure to upgrade every one of your Karta to as far as you can go with what blood bags you have collected now. Level up as far as you can go. Leveling your Karta also takes a day. You can’t upgrade all of your Karta to max, even if you have killed every enemy and done every side quest, so just upgrade the ones you use.
- December 12th is another cutscene.
- After December 20th there is another cutscene.
- On Christmas there is the Christmas special, taking another full day.
- Last week of the year, now. If you have done things right, you should be spending every day leveling and increasing Karta levels if you haven’t already, and have completed every monster den and side quest.
- After the 30th, another cutscene plays. On New Years Eve, you can no longer do any more quests or the like. It is time to face the finale.
END TIMES
- Refill on items from your chest for the final time. Go downstairs, and pick up the phone.
- Walk around the house for a bit. After a bit, the phone will ring again, pick it up.
- The phone rings after a random amount of time each time.
- After about a dozen phone calls and answering, the screen will fade to black, and you will speak with Panda.
- If you want to go for the alternative route here, save your game in an alt slot here. I personally highly recommend going for the normal ending first, and doing the alt ending after beating NG+.
- Go downstairs and speak with the person downstairs.
- If going for the alternative route, log on to ONISM, the read the newest post.
- Leave your house. If going for the alternative route, speak with the figure behind the tree. Then, leave by going behind your house, then go to KNN. If going for normal ending, meet with your friends down the road.
- Once the cutscenes and monologue is over, go south-east from where you parked, and cross the road.
- Go to the subway. Follow down the stairs. There is a camera shop once you go through the subway for an upgrade for Michael, a thrift shop for upgrades for Rory and Vella, and a sporting goods shop for upgrades for Chondra and Claudio. If you have done every side quest, though, most of these are barely upgrades, if at all. Once done shopping, enter the Food District.
- Head to One Times Square after. Make sure your party is fully equipped in all ways. Head straight forward.
- As Alex states at the beginning of this battle, this is a losing battle. You can try all you want, you won’t win.
- But hey, might as well try. The Proto-Comet is the final fight of chapter 5. With a base health of a 600, he hits like a truck and constantly will summon incredibly powerful ads. He resists every attack outside of Chain Gun and will in fact hit you hard. Every so often he will Banish one of your party members, instantly killing them. As tempting as it may be to use as many items as you want on this fight to try to survive and kill this thing, as Alex so clearly states, this is a losing battle. The closer his health gets to zero, the higher his defenses get, and of course every so often they will just randomly Banish a party member. Once you game over, that is the end of the fight.
- Some cutscenes play after.
PARTY LIKE IT IS 1999
- After the cutscene, go to the jump pad on your left.
- Keep going through the jump pads until you jump down and meet with a familiar cat.
- Keep following the jump pads from here.
- After speaking with the Camera, walk into the crowd to return to the start.
- Give The Sun Karta to the Chance Traveller.
- Follow the jump pads, give the Holy Thief Karta to Rori, follow the jump pad down, follow the one going east, then the one in the top right corner of this building.
- Give your Invitation Karta to Kisage X.
- Follow the jump pads back to where Rori was, follow the one going west, then follow the next jump pad, and then give the Umbrella Karta to Chondra.
- Follow the jump pads, then give your Name Karta to Asuka.
- Follow the jump pads, then give The Self Karta to Claudio.

- There is nothing left for me to teach you. You know what to do. Follow the jump pads.
EPILOGUE
- After the cutscene, explore a bit, then enter the Soul Space by picking up the phone.
- Now you are in Soul Space, follow the arrow.
- You lost your best friend. Why are you even still playing?
- Once done pondering on this question, follow the arrow to your next destination.
- Go behind the grass in the back. If you join with Proto-Alex, you get your first bad ending. Refuse them.
- After the cutscenes, save your game. Go behind the couch. Follow the path east, over the bridge. Climb the ladder, jump down, and get in the bus.
- Follow the path, and go down the stairs.
- Jump down the pillars, then get blown off by the face.
- After the cutscene, go up the stairs and through the door on the right.
- Follow the path, and get the $20 from the chest.
- Go to the door on the left with the cards over it. The left slot has to be the fire man Karta, the middle the Invitation, and the right the Serious Attitude Karta.
- Going in the door, though, the slots are in an odd order. The left slot was the lowest of the slot machines, the one on the right, so make that the fire man Karta, the middle was at the center, so the slot machine on the left, making that the Invitation, and the highest and right most Karta was the Serious Attitude Karta, which you must make the middle.
- Once you have aligned the slot machines, follow the jump pads and open the chest.
- Buy the Panda Key from the shop, then open the Panda door.
- Follow the path south and open the chest at the end for a Nothing. Go back to the entrance and follow the path east and go in the bus.
- Interact with the Iron Maiden, then quit your crying. Open the chest, and then leave by going up the ladder and through the bus.
- Go back to the shop and buy a Dali key. Go through the door on the right, then through the path. Open the gate at the end with the Dali key. Go in the bus.
- Interact with the Iron Maiden, then quit your crying. Grab the chest, then leave.
- Sell your Panda and Dali keys, then buy the Entity key. Open the Entity door in the back.
- Follow the path, then at a crossroads, follow the path east and get on the bus.
- Interact with the Iron Maiden, the quit your crying. Get back on the bus, and then go through the newly opened tunnel.
- Follow the straight path. Walk around, then a cutscene triggers.
- Go straight forward. Alex will ask a question of You after some cutscenes and monologue. If you say no, this is another bad ending.
- Funny detail here: If you put in two of the same name accidentally when naming people earlier, an adjective will be put before these party members’ names. Also true if you try naming them the same as the YIIK cast, iirc.
- Follow the arrow.
- Welcome to the boss rush. Your “new” party members are the same as your old ones, just you now have an Alex clone in your party. Alex and the Player don’t have any equipment but do have Karta equipped already (for the Player it is the same as what you had on the Essentia). You don’t have any items on you, since well, you know, so though the Player is a pretty strong character since they have most of Alex’s abilties (including LP Toss 2), they have no equipment, making them pretty weak! My personal party here was Alex, Not Claudio, and Not Rory.
- There is a save point and a chest with 4 of the best healing item in the game, an Ambrosia. Try not to use it if you can.
- On the bottom left is Tele-Alex. All of these fights start with two Imps ads here, but you can pretty hard focus the boss here and you’ll be fine. He doesn’t really do anything fancy, he just has a bit of health. Just spam powerful AOEs like Storm Slash and LP Toss 2 until their Karta is down, then hard focus the boss. This strategy works for all four here.
- After the first boss is defeated, you get all of your stuff back. Reequip Alex with all of his equipment.
- On the top left is Shady Alex. This one goes down to the same general strategy fairly easily.
- On the bottom right is Fat Alex. He has a lot of health and a ton of Karta defenses! Does nothing fancy either.
- On the top right is the Alex of Pretenses! This one has the most health (each boss might get more health depending on how many have been beaten? Not sure) of any fight so far, but isn’t particularly scary, same general strategy applies and kills him pretty fast.
- Enter the mouth.
- Save your game, then enter into the gate at the end of the path. Speak with the specter, then enter the gate.
- After the cutscenes, speak with the Essentia 995. Decide to fight.
- Welcome to the fight against the Twisted Beings.
This is a puzzle fight more than anything. Once you try hitting them once, you will realize you can do little to none damage against them. They will throw out various Karta use effects against you and resummon a full line up of Karta shields. If enough damage is done to them, and their Karta is broken, they will heal to full. Break their Karta shields twice, then wait until they raise one cage. One that cage is raised, attack it as much as possible. It may take a few turns for them to actually raise the cage, so stall as much as possible against their onslaught of aoe attacks. Once both glass pillars are broken, the party “game overs”.
- If your party wipes early or you do successfully break both pillars, you get an opportunity to speak with Roy, the protagonist of Ackk Studios’ first game, Two Brothers.
- Once you are done speaking with Roy, assuming you have broken both glass pillars, speak with the Player Alex, then remove the plug on the right. Now, remove the plug on the left. If you haven’t broken both glass pillars yet, go back and try fighting the boss again until you do.
- Several cutscenes will now play in sequence.
- After the initial credits play, an an additional scene will play out.
- The full credits play after this.
- Congratulations on completing YIIK I.V.'s base ending. There is going to be a bit more after the credits play but for now, this is it. Hope you had as much fun as I had playtesting it, and writing up this guide. Preferably more, this is all pretty tedious work, haha.
- One more thing. One final scene plays after these credits.
- Upon being asked a yes or no question: Answer no.

Good luck.
PLUS TRINITY
- Upon returning to the title screen, you will find a new title screen. Just for you. Once you are ready, load up the save you made a NG+ save.
- Things are about to get a lot more interesting.
- Stick along for the ride. No good book is only 5 chapters and an epilogue.
- Or at least, no complete one, per say? Not even the case for a movie. Perhaps especially so.
- The following is the key to understanding.
- Okay okay. Load up that save.
NG+ PART 1 - BENEVOLENT PSYCHOSIS
This is the real meat of I.V.. Time for the main course.
- After that brief cutscene, Cyrille awakens.
- You have every single piece of Karta you had before, just you can’t equip them just yet.
- Leave their room.
- Go up and pray.
- You are now given two Karta, Michelle and Olexa. You can’t change out Cyrille’s Karta nor can you change the order here.
- Go south down the stairs to confront the Krow.
- The Krow has three Karta, one Noble Thief (lvl 2), and two Crooked Man (lvl 1), and a base health of 161.
- Cyrille’s moveset here is Evasion Dance (increasing your AGL by 45 points, using it more than once doesn’t do anything though), Dragon Jump (really powerful attack that makes you immune to damage while in the air (in the ACT zone. Really good for avoiding strong attacks), Vampire Blade (pretty good for healing and decent damage), and Blinding Flash (Reduces enemy accuracy).
- Generally speaking, the idea here is to using Evasion Dance or Blinding Flash, then the other, then start spamming her two attack moves. Spamming Dragon Jump then use Vampire Blade to heal every so often works pretty well, and since they are both only 2 PP moves, you won’t have to worry about PP management all the much.
- This first fight here is really just to teach you how good Dragon Jump is. If you aren’t avoiding attacks, you WILL get hit like a truck in Benevolent Psychosis.
- After defeating the Krow, he flees! Leave the church and follow the path to the left. It’s a straight path from here, just follow the linear pathway here past the bridge.
- Once you head into the forest, there are two paths you can take. Follow the right path here then speak with the Krow.
- Keep following the path from here.
- Now that the Krow has joined your party, you can customize his Karta. Make sure to! He needs it.
- The crossroads have four paths here, one going to Town, one going to Gold Farm, one going back the way you came, and one going to the Blackened Pond. If you are ever lost, follow the signs. Go up the ramp here and to the left to go to the Blackened Pond.
- Speak with Krow on the edge of the Pond.
- After the cutscene, leave the Pond and enter the crossroads again.
- Go into town. Go up the stairs and speak with the figure up to the top of them. Grab the item behind them afterward for equipment for Cyrille.
- Head back up to the bridge past the forest. Speak with the blue man with a golden hat on his head on the bridge. He gives you a fishing rod.
- Head back up to the Blackened Pond, and go fish!
- THATS RIGHT BABY THIS GAME IS PEAK FICTION BABY IT GOT A FISHING MINIGAME HOOOOOOLY PEAK CINEMAAAA
- Anyway, you can fish all the fish here for healing items. However, that isn’t the only thing you can fish up! Throw your line as far left as you can get it, and then pull it back once it lands for the Moon Device.
- Head back to town, going east of the town gate toward the cemetery and mountain trail.
- Interact with the sun device on the ground, putting in the moon device you got earlier. Spin it around a bit, spinning it fully a couple of times.
- Go up the mountain trail. If you did it right, you should be able to see the moon. If you did, go back up to the Blackened Pond. If you didn’t, try spinning the device a few more times until you get it. It is a little wonky but you will know you can see the moon again if the sky is still sunny and blue out.
- Once at the Blackened Pond, head to the moon shrine (the cross on the ground to the right, should be glowing). Make sure you are healed up first if you aren’t already.
- The fight against this Vampire is hard as hell. With over 600 health and a full lineup of powerful Karta, he is no joke. Start by using Evasion Dance with Cyrille, then Throw Stick with Krow. After a turn the Vampire will summon a Soul Survivor Y, which doesn’t have much health but of course hits like a truck, but if you kill them the Vampire will use a turn to instantly resummon them, so isn’t super worth going after them. Just hard focus the Vampire. Remember that items instantly send an Actor straight to the end of the ACT line, and that items used on Cyrille while she is using Dragon Jump don’t work. Spamming items is generally a good stat throughout Benevolent Psychosis’ boss fights. You are given 10 things of bread, which restore 80% of your health and 80% of your PP, so use them often. Play defensively here, using Dragon Jumps often and using items as your main form of healing. You can very easily restore your items, so do not feel bad about using them! When Krow or Cyrille’s Karta gets low, use Mend Karta on Krow restore everyone’s defenses – It is like an extra powerful aoe Gauze Bandage! A lot of the attacks here do piercing damage, so be careful! If one of your party members goes down too quickly before the boss is at below 100 health it may as well be a game over! If you gameover you are given the option to buy items, if you have used any items go ahead, money no longer matters. Once the Vampire is down, you still have to deal with the Soul Survivor Y before moving on.
- This fight is a massive difficulty hike over everything before it, I know! Got to really play carefully here!
- Funny strat that you can abuse with Krow is to have the Fattened Calf Karta as the back line Karta, use Mend Karta, then use the active ability of the Calf to fully restore Karta health for everyone.
NG+ PART 2 - THE BLACKENED POND
Welcome back. How was the fall?
- You remember what to do here, right? Things are going to be a little different, but mostly the same.
- Speak with the ONISM MAN behind you. You have gained the Heart field card.
- Go to the gate in front of you, unlocking it.
- There are several random enemy encounters throughout these sections. Fighting enemies gives you equipment. Make sure to fight at least a handful of enemies to be able to consistently upgrade your gear.
- Make sure to also change out Nameless’ Karta. The Poison Apple is really powerful in these sections. My personal setup was The Sorrowful Maiden / Poison Apple / Seamtress, in that order.
- On the crossroads, head right. There are two chests here with healing items that you should pick up. The Nameless and Cyrille also share inventories here, so healing items are shared between both parties.
- Talk to the yellow starving man, walk into the fire, then speak with him again. Go up the jump pads to ascend the mountain.
- Some quick notes about the Nameless’ abilities here: They have the 12 PP ability that is exclusive to them of Boss Around, which is pretty similar in function to LP Toss II, but feels stronger here. Very powerful offensive ability to throw in where possible, though for most weak encounters just raw attack as the piercing passive that the Poison Apple Karta gives easily lets you kill most enemies. She also has Seal Skills, which doesn’t feel like it ever properly works but in theory it disables enemy abilities somewhat, similar to Blinding Flash in function, though it has fairly low accuracy (maybe I am unlucky, I just never have been able to get it to work too well). Evasion Dance should pretty much always be used turn 1 of any boss fight, much like Cyrille. Finally, Cement Shoes is a fairly strange ability, another unique one, as it drastically lowers an enemy’s speed (similar to the active ability of The Crooked Man Karta) but also raises the enemy’s attack. Pretty good on certain boss fights.
Anyway, head through the linear path up the rainbow stairs. As The Camera explain here, you are unable to level up as The Nameless Child, but you are able to get progressively better gear. As already stated, make sure to equip your new gear as you get it!
- Speak with the angel to get the Name Karta.
- Walk back down the stairs and speak with Asuka.
- Asuka has joined the party. Equip her with some Karta – My personal setup for her was The Crooked Man / Seamstress / Fattened Calf, in that order – And make sure to equip her with whatever equipment you have.
- Go back down the path and down the mountain.
- Asuka’s abilities are very powerful! She has the always useful Blinding Flash, a super powerful healing ability of Mega Heal, which heals 90% of all party members’ health and stops bleeding, the ever powerful support ability Spread Item, and her unique ability, Chuck Item, which lets you use and item as a weapon, a little more niche ability. Asuka overall though doesn’t have any real powerful offensive abilities, her supportive abilities here are really powerful. The idea with her is just make her a support to The Nameless’ offense.
- Head west at the crossroads past the enemy and interact with the fountain for an extra Sorrowful Maiden card if you need it.
- Go south at the crossroads, and follow the linear path here. Speak with the Proto-Woman for a funny line. Now, go past the gate here and back down the cliff. Feel free to save up here.
- Interact with the Eggleston house to get an extra The Torn Hat Karta. Speak with the Golden Alpaca for an extra The Noble Thief Karta.
- Grab the chest next to the chairs for some healing items, then go towards The Bad Brother. Follow him, and speak with Krow.
- Go back, going behind the rock. Speak with the familiar looking Pretty Boy.
- Go back to where Krow was. After speaking with Krow, heal up if you need to.
- Boss fight time. Cue Kaiju Mechajaw. This fight has something of a gimmick that is similar to how the fight at the end of the Epilogue was like of having to destroy two things that don’t do anything after some time – But unlike that fight you can very easily out DPS it. Just raw attack it, and when you get the chance use Boss Around with Nameless. It goes down pretty quick.
- Interact with the red Iron Maiden.
NG+ PART 3 - HOW TO DISCERN MEMES
- Leave the church, head towards the bridge, and feel free to save up.
- Once past the forest and back to the crossroads, a cutscene will play.
- Head up to town. There should be an item in a tree next to the entrance to town. Grab it, it is a weapon upgrade for Krow.
- Pick up the items in houses that have spawned here for more equipment upgrades for Krow.
- Head out, going toward the Farm. Grab the equipment by the Alpacas, and then speak with the farmer by the barn. He has been stabbed, noting you now need to go back to the forest.
- Head back through the forest and follow the path. Fight the demon here.
- The fight against Sword Master here isn’t too bad. Standard strategy applies here, dance with Cyrille, use Sorrowful Maiden’s ability with Krow, then spam your attacks. The Sword Master can inflict burn on your party members, so act fast and heal where necessary. Don’t forget you can Mend Karta with Krow into using Fattened Calf’s active for a full Karta heal. Sword Master hits pretty hard here but just keep your defenses up and keep up the offense as much as possible and they will go down fairly fast.
- Beating them gives you the mirror. Go back up to town and give the mirror to Princess Emilia (the figure at the top of town). They give you a key in return.
- Speak with the figure by Emilia. This sets up the next quest.
- Head east out of town to find the Original Sin of Interest Bearing Debt, starting the first fight against the Kaiju Cyclops. This first one is a little tanky but standard strategy applies, it doesn’t do anything fancy.
- Beating this first Cyclops gives you their spine. Head back out to the forest and go a bit off the path when you see the tree with the red ornament in the background. There should be an Iron Maiden key on the ground. Though this is entirely optional, if you want you can go back to Cyrille’s church and unlock the Iron Maiden. Either way, keep heading through the forest back to Cyrille’s church.
- Along the forest path is another fight against a Kaiju Cyclops. Functionally the same deal as the other one. Beating this one gives you the Cyclops Hand.
- Speaking with the figure in the Iron Maiden gives you the cursed googles, a piece of equipment for Cyrille that lets you find 15 different figures throughout the world. Find them all and get a really good equipment upgrade for Cyrille. These figures are beta testers for Benevolent Psychosis! All of them are insane and speak like that because you would speak like that too if you playtested this game.
- The last Cyclops is back at the farm, by the golden alpacas. Same deal as the others. Beating this one gives you the Cyclops Hoof.
- Now you have defeated all three of the Cyclopes, go back to the figure next to Princess Emilia, getting the Aspergillum.
- Go back to the fountain by Cyrille’s church, and interact with it, making the Aspergillum wet.
- Go to the Blackened Pond, then interact with the burning rocks in the back, extinguishing them.
- Go into the area unlocked. Grab the item on the rock to the right, then follow the path to the right going down. Make sure to heal up, then go to the platform at the very bottom. A cutscene will play.
- Welcome to the fight against The Baby. The music that plays here is peak fiction. The Baby has two ads that must be dealt with. This fight is pretty tough! Make sure to weaken the Baby with Sorrowful’s active, then spam Throw Stick with Krow. Standard strategy applies, just deal with the ads first with Throw Stick and Dragon Jump spam, then hyper focus the Baby. Tiny Butcher is who you got to deal with first as they hit like a truck here. Once the ads are dead, the Baby doesn’t have anything fancy to hit you with, and doesn’t even hit that hard. Just make sure to deal with the ads first and you’ll be fine.

NG+ PART 4 - INFERNO
- Head behind the Iron Maiden and go through the pseudo maze here. The right jump pad is behind a stationary enemy. Jump on the jump pad and a cutscene will play.
- After the cutscene, jump on the jump pad. Go on the bottom right jump pad and follow the Roblox Obby path here and jump in the water.
- There are a few annoying enemies here, but just spamming direct attacks you should be fine, most of them are fodder.
- Now you can pass through a fashionable crowd. Go back past the Iron Maidens. Walk past the fire, and keep passing through the fashionable crowd up the stairs.
- Speak with Michael behind the tree.
- Go back through the fire path and speak with the figure that looks like Alex.
- You can now pass through the serious crowd. Head back through the fire path, back up the stairs. Heal up first.
- Boss fight time against the Golden Alpaca. This fight is pretty similar to the fight back in Chapter 2, with a pretty similar moveset here, just he has less health. Instead of summoning Soul Survivors he will summon weak Tiny Butchers instead, that hit fairly hard. General strategy here is to lower his health with Sorrowful Maiden and deal with the ads where needed, but otherwise hard focus him direct attacks and Boss Around where possible. Have Asuka use Spread Item with an item like Bread for a full heal and PP restore. Golden Alpaca loves resummoning their ad, so having a Karta setup with Nameless that pierces and destroys their Karta guarantees a kill on the ad with Boss Around, so you can just spam that and have Asuka on item spam duty / direct attack when not needed to restore PP. Fairly easy fight.
- Once defeated, go in the house.
NG+ PART 5 - THE MEME ABOVE ALL MEMES
- After the cutscene, go downstairs. Speak with the figure in the Iron Maiden if you are doing this side quest and check how many figures you have left. If you have done it right, then you should have gotten them all, as they are pretty easy to spot. This gives you the Witch Armor, a fairly huge upgrade for Cyrille.
- Feel free to save up. Go back to the crossroads.
- Go back up to town, head east, and go up the mountain. Speak with the blond figure by the telescope. They give you a chalice.
- Head back to the farm. Interact with the lamb, and sacrifice it.
- Go back up to town, head east, and go up to the graveyard in the far corner.
- Interact with the Gargoyle, opening the gate. Head up the stairs.
- Boss fight time. This is the fight against the Fallen Angel. Standard strategy once more applies, weaken it with Sorrowful Maiden, tear through their Karta, then spam attacks, heal where necessary. Throw Stick is better than direct attacking, as always. Fairly easy fight.
NG+ PART 6 - FULL HOUSE
- After the cutscene, head right and interact with the sink three times to clean the dishes.
- Head upstairs. In the first open door there is a picture on the left. Head to room on the right. Grab the VHS on the nightstand on the right.
- Go back downstairs and interact with the TV to put the VHS in there.
- Go back upstairs and to the room on the far right. Grab the panda on the floor, and head back downstairs. Give it to Baby Alex.
- Grab the popcorn on the counter in the kitchen. Then, go back and put it in the microwave. Give it to Daddy.
NG+ PART 7 - TOWERING MT. ONISM
- Head out of the church and head to the crossroads. A cutscene will play.
- Head to the Blackened Pond.
- Speak with Krow there.
- Your story concludes in another vessel.

- It’s time to ascend.
- Enter into the tower.
- Grab the chest and feel free to save.
- Interact with the sheet over the mirror, then grab the Original Sin of CompariSin. Read the books to the right, and then go into the mirror.
- Head through the hallway, and keep heading through.
- Interact with the cage. After the cutscenes, head into the mirror.
- Welcome to the final dungeon of Y2K.
- Head behind the mirror to turn on the fans. Head forward first and around the circle path, grabbing the key at the end of it.
- Head up the blue stairs and head right. Head to the open door.
- Go through the first door on the left. Watch the cutscene, explore the room a little, then head out.
- Head to the next door on the left. Grab the key and head back and unlock the cage in the previous room.
- Head to the room on the far left, and head west. Follow the path around here. The enemies can be pretty annoying to deal with here. Grab the key at the other side of the room.
- Head out of here.
- Open the door at the end of the fan path.
- Follow the path to the end, where there is an apple tree and an item at the base of it. Grab it. Head back. Make sure to grab the chests along the way for good healing items.
- Speak with Kisage X. Head to the mirror.
- After the cutscene plays, head towards Asuka and Chondra repeatedly.
- Head up the blue stairs to the right and unlock the door up and to the left.
- Follow the path and grab the item on the blue tree at the end of it. Go back and speak with Kisage X once more.
- Enter the mirror once more.
- Play baseball.
- After the scenario is over, speak with Kisage X.
- Enter the mirror. Follow the hallway.
- Michael will ask you a question here, your answers do not matter.
- Hear his advice well. Point. And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shoot.
- Head back through the hallway.
- Shoot the ONISM MAN.
- That’s a wrap.
NG+ FINALE
- After the cutscene, head up through the red carpet and speak with each of the figures. After speaking to them, they will head to the wrap party.
- Once you have spoken to everyone, head west to the table with Kisage X.
- Follow Krow down south to the beach.
- After several cutscenes play in sequence and you regain control of Asuka, open up the menu. Change out your equipment. For some reason, Asuka’s Karta gets removed here (bug? Not sure.) so make sure to reequip it. Get a set up you are happy with. The next bit is going to be really hard. You also have one new Karta – The Heart Unlocked. This Karta lets you summon a helping soul as it’s active and lowers PP costs for user by 2. My setup for Asuka was The Heart Unlocked / Fattened Calf, Seamstress, setup for Nameless was Sorrowful Maiden / Poison Apple / Seamtress, and you cannot change the Karta of the third party member, Cyrille. Make sure you have all the best equipment for everyone on them.
- Save your game.
- FINAL BOSS TIME. The ONISM MAN is easily the hardest fight in the game, a true superboss to test your skills. First things first, Evasion Dance with everyone. Use The Sorrowful Maiden’s active to immediately lower its health by 800 (!!). ONISM MAN hits for near lethal with every swing, and will often hit aoe. Every so often it will throw a meteor at you, lowering the entire party’s health to 1. Use your healing wisely. This is the time to spam items and abuse them well. Remember that Dragon Jump lets you dodge damage if done right!! Have Asuka and Cyrille be your attack spammers while the Nameless is there for support, but don’t forget that Asuka has her ultra powerful support abilities where needed. Using the Fattened Calf’s active – And timing it well, can really swing the tides back in your favor when you need it. ONISM MAN does a lot of damage and will pierce but ass long as you have some Karta you will survive. If all else fails and you are running out of Karta don’t forget about Bandages. If even one of your party members dies you might be screwed, but you can live if you play well, but if two then it may as well be game over unless it is right before the finish line. This fight is brutal. A real ball buster. After a bit, ONISM MAN will summon two ads, party members from the Original Story. If you have used Boss Around before this they will take damage immediately (note: this might be bug? Not sure). The ads won’t do too much but take them out quickly. The helping party member summoned by The Heart Unlocked can also take hits, so using it while the ads are out can be a good way to get some hits tanked. When you get hit by the meteor, make sure to use aoe healing items like the Family Meals you picked up earlier! Items are instant, and you can’t die from the meteor, just your health gets set to 1. This fight may seem like it requires a little luck, but with good strategy you can get it down pretty well, as such has become my personal favorite fight in the game.
- After defeating it, several cutscenes will play. At the end of them, you will be given a choice. This choice matters. Choosing to absolve Michael is the correct one here. Absolving Alex first results in Asuka getting shot, a bad ending.

Congrats. You have fully completed YIIK I.V.. For real this time.
You are given a choice to create a NG++ save, letting you replay the Original Quest with all of your equipment, Karta, etc., you got. There is one secret fight in NG++ and some minor secrets as well. Secret fight is after getting level 100 and getting past Chapter 4 again. NG++ for Benevolent Psychosis is a bit odd the only thing you carry over is some equipment. New title screen that is based on the pre I.V. title screen is unlocked upon creating a NG++ save.

I hope this guide has helped. Let me know of any issues in it, thank you for reading. If the guide helped, give it a thumbs up.

Good guide. If you are going for 100% achievements as well. Get the 15k in your pocket before buying the Rare Pog for 1k

@MetalSonic105 You should be able to still use and unlock in NG++? Been a minute, but iirc it was like... Talk to one of the npcs after like chapter 3 or 4 in the mind dungeon in NG++.

I think having Asuka use The Heart Unlocked during the final final battle meant I couldn't use it in NG++...

small note about the ng+ portion of the guide, you can find the bodies out of the listed order; that first boss noted as being really hard was the last one i saw

Currently playing through I.V and following this guide. In Vella's mind dungeon, the guide says you should be able to talk to jill and enter the grey door right away but I had to actually talk to the drummer Vella first before Jill would let me to go the door.
